  1. Good band, seen them live a few times and they were better than i expected! QMFT Still to see them live, will make it this year
  2. : peace: I found the opposite. Halo's maps are to big for 4v4, the combat is simple (nade, gun, nade, hit with gun. dead.), dual wielding is pointless because you get pwned by nades and the vehicles are crap (by that i mean half the time trying to run someone over is like hitting a brick wall, you just stop). Oh and you get 10 mins of fighting then 10 mins in the lobby trying to get a new one I get the rounds thing but it does make the game a little more social (due to more talking time due to being dead lol)
  3. It kind of left being an argument about LP pages ago when it became clear that nobody really wanted to defend them...
  4. Im doubting we'll get a Wii SP, the Wii is upgradable through the USB ports and via firmware update so theres no need. A HDD and Media Player channel (compatable with loads of codecs like Divx, Xvid, x264 and h264) would be nice though I'd even pay a fair whack for it!
  5. No reason in particular, i'd just stay away from OcUK's own cards. There isn't a lot of info on them (the card you get isn't even the one shown in the picture) and so it makes it difficult to make an informed decision.
  6. Not the same set then, unless you're parents got it almost a year and a half before it was released. The R87/88 models came out a month or 2 ago
  7. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/111197 Pay through Google Checkout to get £10 off Are you after RAM as well? I've seen some pretty amazing deals on RAM lately that i could point you in the direction of. Its all DDR2 though, making me rather upset (the stuff i need is inferior and double the price)
  8. But then you have cost issues. From the Apple site: 2.33GHz Intel Core2Duo 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM NVidia GeForce 7600GT 256MB 500GB SATA HDD 24" LCD Screen £1,860 + £70 for a copy of Vista Home Premium. Total Cost = £1,930 A quick look on the Mesh computers website shows you can get a better spec'd Windows PC for about 1/2 the price. You get a 22" monitor instead of 24" but you get an 8600GT instead of 7600GT, a Dual TV tuner, slightly better processor and an X-Fi Xtreme soundcard. Macs aren't for gaming. They're good for anything else but if you want games and aren't completely stupid then you'll buy a Windows computer
  9. lol @ "Starting Today"
  10. I only paid £25 for a years Live. You get 3x one month free with the console (all 3 have to be on different gamertags though) by signing up for Live and choosing Silver (it then tells you that you qualify for 1 month free, you can do this 3 times) and theres a 1 month voucher inside PGR3/Live Arcade/Wireless Pad Pack. Not a bad deal really imho, ive had more fun on my 360 with Live than ive had on any console since the days of bringing my Gamecube into 6th form for Smash Bros
  11. The problem is the definition of Bad and Good. You're talking about technical ability here without stating so. Technical ability is factual, whether or not a band is good is opinion I saw an interview with Pelle Almqvist (lead singer of The Hives) earlier and he put it pretty well. When asked why he thought The Hives were the best band in the world he said: "We have the skill to make the music we want to make, this makes us the best band in the world for us." If a band/singer/group etc is making the exact sort of music that an individual likes then doesn't that make them the best band in the world for that person? And if so is it not right that people can refer to bands with low technical skill as good?
  12. They don't display the speeds of the Core2Duo because Intel used to slap really high speeds on the names of processors. Speed of processors has hardly increased over the last 5 years so slapping the speed on the front of a Core2Duo would make it look crap and overpriced to the average consumer I agree about the graphics thing, bloomin stupid the way/rate they move at. I gave up trying to follow not long after SLI came out and was the best thing ever invented by mankind surpassing the wheel, the light bulb and sliced bread
  13. Reminds me of that 2DTV sketch where Bill Gates was at the launch of "Microsoft Notebook and Pen 2003" and the pen crashed
  14. Its supposed to be one of the best in it's price bracket. Also worth considering is the Hannspree XV. I was saving up for either the AOC or Hannspree until a couple of months ago. I was put off by not being able to demo the unit before buying so im now saving that little bit more for a Toshiba or Samsung set. You can get the 32" version of this or the Hannspree (Hannspree no longer do 26") for around £50 more if you can stretch to that Loads of info on these sets over at http://www.avforums.com
  15. Well to be fair most people talk about their Computer whereas Mac users for some reason feel the need to specify Mac. You don't catch Linux users saying "On my Linux" do you? Last time i used Linux it was none of those things. It crashed as much as Windows XP, took a while to configure and didn't work with any of my Wireless cards so i had to buy a new one (bought Vista instead) How much has changed in 3 months?
  16. i'll be on for one of the 2, prefer gears though
  17. But you are. Very. You're basically saying that people can't like a band, removing personal taste from society - this makes you as bad as the NME, Radio 1 and various other publications/record companies. The difference is you're ammo is that popular music isn't as technically impressive I've no dislike of Metal, nor any other genre. I listen to a lot of very varied music. Some of it is mainstream, some indie and some underground and do you know what? I like most of what i hear for different reasons! EDIT: (from The Music Thread) Inconsistent much? I think thats what you call "PWNED"
  18. Its good news. Personally i don't care if its illegal, i want my Wii Media Centre and this is yet another step closer! Odd how the second someone mentions Wii Modding everyone goes up on their legal high-horse. Nobody seems to mind topics in General Chat about downloaded TV shows that none of us should be watching (i.e. Heroes, Lost, 24)
  19. Just spotted a couple of good deals: Samsung LE32R88BD: Clicky Toshiba 32C3030D: Clicky Both cracking prices if you are after a 32" Im looking at buying in the next month myself, wanted a 26" but there's hardly any difference in price between 26 and 32 and a lot of newer models are only 32"+
  20. I think i need to start playing GoW single player, not even completed it on casual yet Anyone want to co-op with me?
  21. You didn't come about all that knowledge through studying the game then?
  22. Might not make Halo at 7 but i'll be on for Gears before/after 24
  23. The iPod model was used for the Zune because it is the most profitable. Its been a flop, i didn't include it simply because it never made it as far as Europe. But if i was to include it then that adds yet another direction of choice to Windows users. We can use iTunes, Zune and PlaysForSure
  24. Ignorance is bliss I play games for fun anyway. I don't appreciate being told who to play as and i won't read so much into a game that i actually study how to win. They wouldn't need to. Just make people buy SD cards Its not like a 2GB card costs much these days (Under £20)
  25. Pound for pound an aerial will give better results with easier setup though. An extra access point is a luxury
