Been on a massive comic kick at the moment. Just for the first time read Batman: Year one and The Dark Knight Returns. I feel like a new man. Gonna move onto Long Halloween soon =D. What I like about these stories is that they're short, not tending to drag on in the same bloated way you'd expect them to considering how long some superhero threads have been going. So, can anyone reccommend me any similarly shortish/excellent stories? I've read Superman: Red Son (and am downloading some Alan Moore Superman runs) but I WANT MOAR.

You mean in terms of mechanics? I thought Starbreeze's The Darkness operated on a fairly similar premise, that Jacky could fashion the darkness into practically anything he wanted. Unfortunately, that concept is almost impossible to translate to videogames, and was limited to about 4 pretty mundane superpowers. And we're talking about a fantastic studio here, one that has released some exxceptional games. In fact, the idea of infinite creative possibilities has been massively disappointing wherever you look, for example the Scribblenauts games, whose range of possibilities was enormous, but this was only possible because of the logistical limitations of the engine; your character could barely do anything, and the games novelty only went as far as watching Cthulhu murder god in a graphic depiction of my childhood dreams. Anyway, this game will suck. Probably. Although...I've developed a theory that a videogame movie tie-in's quality is inversely proportional to the quality of the film. Which, judging from the Green Lantern trailer, makes me hugely hopeful for the game.

Fuck the 23rd, I'll probably be out of the country. You can't have a meet without me. I say 16th July!
-
Yesss Chair you have to be there.
-
I'll be there, as always, probably drunkenly plucking absurd theories out of the air with Jay Also: can we do it sometime mid July?

Yessss, that's what I really love about Kanye; a lot of narrative is implicit within the production itself rather than traditional rap artists like Nas (who I also fucking love) who tell stories solely through the invention and the flow of lyrics. Its kinda the reason I really loved the James Blake record as well.

Oh Jesus, I only just "got" the new Kanye album. Late I know, but there's nothing like All of The Lights blasting through the wall at you in the shower.

Made the most fantastic steak today. The sauce was really the best part, heated a bit of soya cream with a half a beef stock cube, then simmered. Added some Dijon mustard, a bunch of ground peppercorns and a dab of white wine, but the thing that made it amazing was the ground (and stupidly expensive) pine nuts that I tossed in there that gave it a fucking amazing texture and taste. Aweeeesome =D

Yeah I lost all my other piercings so I kinda had to improvise with a plastic septum retainer =p.

This is why I don't smile; usually ends up somewhere closer to a grimace of disgust

Overactive hippocampus? Obessive compulsive disorder? Tis a feat of incredible memory. Each level is the same every time you play in terms of the locations of the goombas etc, changing only to react to your inputs and responses. He must have a clear path worked out for every game, and then calculated what kind of input overlap there is in terms of the number of seconds and amount of times each button is pressed. Takes way more patience that an ordinary human being can muster. Of course, he may have slowed it down in order to play, and then sped it up to make it seem more fantastic.

He must have got the timings perfect and set a time delay on when each emulator accepts his inputs because his jumps aren't synchronised in each game.

Well, I just completed this for the third time on Zealot difficulty. I seem to have this weird compulsion to have all my weapons completely powered up and all I've got left is the flamethrower and pulse rifle, which are both actually surprisingly more efficient than their counterparts in the first game were. I feel as if you can have a good chance throughout the game regardless of your weapon configuration, although the Contact Beam and Ripper are fucking ridiculously overpowered.

Never knew neanderthals still existed.

You say that as if its syllogistically assured. WTF FREE RADICAL DO AWESOME MULTIPLAYER.

Oh trust me, I relate a lot to the character too, but I'd like to think that I'm not quite as much of a hypocrite.

Well Holden was an embodiment of the things he himself hated most, so I don't think it would be too positive. Although he always struck me as the type of guy who I'd like to have a drink with, being so neurotic that he would make me feel better about my own awful shit

I thought this was a thread about ReZ.

Mad Monkey does like to throw half baked ideas out there, reliant on typical forum conjecture, without any real need to substantiate his claims. I think Crysis 2 is phenominal, and definitely one of the most interesting shooters I've played for a while, owing not in small part to the customisability of weapons and the fact that any given enemy encounter can be approached in a myriad of ways. And I don't this in the way that they used to marked games with Havok physics, where they'd tell you that everytime you shoot an enemy he'll fall a different way thus its a different game every time you play. Here I mean, literally, it does what the original failed to, because it didn't really require you to be creative, and instead, if you just go in guns blazing, the pretty fuckin coordinated enemy masses will come down on you like a ton of bricks. Can't wait to get some more playtime with the thing, so far only played for abooot two hours on a mates PC.
