    More difficult being a good thing? Fuck off. You're playing a game, getting immersed in it, the story and understanding the way it works, and 2 minutes into it, you're dead, and you have to keep playing in this shitty trial and error way. It's not better, it's not fun. It's shit, and it's boring. Viewtiful Joe and F-Zero would both have been better if they were a little less difficult. F-Zero was just unfair at times. If you want a game that is difficult but fair, play Ikaruga. Best shooter ever.

    I have 2 copies of Chrono Trigger, 1 American, 1 Japanese. Cost me about 120 quid o_0.

    Well...considering that the SNES has the highest concentration of amazing games on any console ever, you can't really go wrong. I say you go for Chrono Trigger, as it not only fills the criteria of being on the SNES, it's also the best game of all time

    Haha, yeah, Trocadero, it's amazing. I've never been to an arcade like that before, as you can imagine, I was like a kid in a candy store.

    Yeah, actually, I'd rather go to London and spend a couple of days there. The arcade was just plain immense, sweaty, nerdy, and the most fun ever.

    Subject of the day: Ithyphallic. I picked this up this morning, and it's been on constantly. I am nothing short of blown away...I think it's a cut above "Annihilation of The Wicked" and is a truly fantastic piece of work. It doesn't sound quite the same as Nile's classic sound...like on "Shrines.." or "Catacombs," without any of the awesome egyptian wailing...more most notes that aren't tremelo picked tend to be harmonised with their fourths...gives a very metal sound. 10/10 My vote for album of this year so far... Also: I was reccommended Gojira by a friend, who gave me the From Mars to Sirius album to listen to, and I can only say that it's a bit shit. Well...they're a French band, what can you expect?

    Okay...I'm intrigued. Reccommend me some tracks, if you're not too busy. Heard a lot of Davis, but not much of Coltraine or Mingus. *Sigh*...when you're a musician you tend to become preoccupied with learning to play in the styles of the musicians you love and less time exploring genres...

    See, most of that is good jazz. Such a thing is rare indeed. Theres a fine line between jazz thats too cheesy and far too obscure and difficult.

    Mesuggah are pretty cerebral, and tend to make intelligent music, mostly appreciated by musicians (and Oxigen Waste o_0 ) Opeth are just plain amazing in every way though, they're emotive, beautiful, and almost every other positive adjective I associate with music...your comments about them are just so sad and pitiable. MCR are totally clueless. They're totally boring and ordinary, and in every song you can predict what's going to happen next. They have no sense of melody or any sense of anything that can be incorporated into music to make it evocative or involving or challenging. As for Droning Bellow, I assume you're referring to crap like Cannibal Corpse. Don't worry...I think they're shit too . But sometimes, the music isn't about the vocals at all...take Children Of Bodom. The Vocals are the one thing that don't add anything to the experience...but thats irrelevant because musicianship is so mind blowing that you end up not giving a shit. When you say...incomprehensible, I say so fucking what? The great thing about music is that it's mostly sounds that we don't associate any meaning to, yet it still can have an amazing effect on us. Some music needs lyrics, and thats fine, some music may or may not have lyrics, but doesn't need them, which is something you need to understand. The last thing I want to say to you is that music is an evolving and progressive experience...trust me, there will probably (if you are half as intelligent as I think you are) come a day when MCR won't satisfy you, just like there came a day for me a long time ago when I realised that The Offspring and System of A Down weren't really as interesting as I thought. There are only a few people on this forum who really have a good of what music is and should be; I can list them on one hand. To Weeyellowbloke: You lucky guy! I'd kill to see them live, mainly because it'd be a gig that me and all my friends can enjoy. + Aphex Twin = ass kickage. Just reading through the thread from the start cause I was bored, and came across this reply to one of my posts which I must have missed. So: Will someone please explain this concept to me, because it's just gone completely over my head... Maybe I'm just an idiot.

    Haha, mainstream? I was listening to MJ 20 minutes ago, so that argument consists entirely of bullshit. Fun? How are MCR fun, in any way? I suppose you mean fun in a totally slapstick and banal way. You are musically very inexperienced. As for lyrics and song structure? You like emotionally immature men ranting about revenge in a verse/ chorus/ verse arrangement? If you want fascinating song structure, go listen to Opeth, or Messuggah, or countless other bands. You haven't come across true music, as is painfully obvious from every word you've uttered in this thread. As for shouting...or screaming... you seem to have no problem with distorted guitars, so why do you moan about distorted vocals, which when done properly work really well. There's nothing more anguished and ugly and visceral than a good metal vocalist, and it all goes into the effect of the music. All metal bands that I listen to have a really brilliant grasp of melody. MCR really do not.

    Metroid by a huge huge distance. Zelda never had much of a story. There has never been a game that is less than outstanding in the main Metroid series, and the only truly outstanding games from the Zelda series for me are LttP, WW and LA. Everything from the atmosphere, to the gameplay to the music is just better, and there's a sense of urgency and importance in Metroid which just isn't there in Zelda. Through 3 generations, the Zelda series has essentially been the same game in different guises.

    Yeah same! Thats going to take a lot of effort though...MP2 takes a lot of time and thought. I can't understand people who say MP is bad. Maybe their brains don't work too good.

    Eh? I thought it was called Caring Is Creepy. It's oddly melodic for an Indie Song. In fact, I can't call them indie, they have too much heart. Pretty tranquil, folk-ish stuff.
