  1. This game is far too easy. And I think I prefer Sunshine up till this point (28 stars), it was just more vibrant and was more of a gamers' game. It seems that Nintendo tones Galaxy down a lot because they knew that it wouldn't appeal to the kids if it was too hard to get into.
  2. It was a joke. Must not have made that clear. My bad. What I meant was that it couldn't possibly be any worse...
  3. Well, I'm sorry, but I've always been under the impression that a medium shouldn't be defined under the terms of the lowest common denominator.
  4. Hey, I'm not bashing the Foo's, they're fun, I'm just saying that the difference in quality is noticeable. As for people who like the Libertines, I'm sorry, that's my bad, here I was operating under the assumption that I was dealing with people with some semblance of intelligence. Well, you can bet your ass I wont be making the same mistake twice. It's not vague at all, is what I'm saying. Quality is obvious, people just can't be bothered to look for it, instead obstinately clinging to whatever immediately appeals. People, in other words, who have no interest in music further than as a distraction for an idle hour. Meh...I've had this debate far too often...I'll piss off now.
  5. Well, that's true to an extent, but can you really argue that, for example, Blink 182, or the Foo Fighters have more musical expertise than...say, Metallica? No, you really can't, and it would be stupid to try. The gray area comes when there are bands of similar influence and prestige, like Zeppelin and The Beatles...or Mastodon and KSE it's easily debatable as to who are the better band, and you couldn't be blamed for trying to justify one over the other. What is really infuriating is when musically inept whelps wander in here, with vague tastes, and nonexistent understanding, vacuously touting The Libertines (or whatever other sterile bullshit that crass Indie culture is hailing these days) to be worth listening to. That kind of "music" is exhausted in one listen, that is, if you don't get annoyed and angry at the lack of effort that went into it even before it's finished. [/rant for the day]
  6. More than amusingly ironic coming from a LOTR fan, but what the hell, we all have our dubious moments. Yeah, this looks absolutely amazing from what I've seen, definately looking to get it soon, especially since a friend said that "it's what MP3 would be like if it was an RPG." Just wondering if any of the bugs have been patched and whatnot...it's not debilitating buggy is it? Because that's the only real criticism I've come across so far...can't wait to get into this
  7. Well...I guess it's revenge for being locked in a cage for the majority of it's life, and you can't really blame the tiger...so I don't see why they couldn't have released it into the wild...what with it being of a dwindling species as it is...Tigers are purdy
  8. Wesker was without a doubt the best on Mercenaries. Split kick was an instant kill for pretty much any enemy. I think I racked up 178,000 on the Village level with him. Man, that game, everytime you think that it can't stun you with yet another amazing location and enemies, it kicks your ass again.
  9. That's the one . If it's as good as the first game, it's gonna be contender for game of the year.
  10. That not a sequel, it's an expansion. All it has is Perseus Mandate and some other half assed crap. I'm talking about the real sequel .
  11. It's going to be impossible to top 2007. This year was stupidly awesome. Looking forward to: Street Fighter 4 (!!!!!!!!! OMFG!!!) Soul Calibur 4 Smash Bros. (You can probably tell I'm into fighters ) Sequel to F.E.A.R (whatever it's called) Resident Evil 5 Lost Odyssey Devil May Cry 4 Army Of Two (should be awesome Co-op) Ninja Gaiden 2 Next Prince of Persia Okami Wii Final Fantasy CC ...holy shit...2008 could end up being even better o_0
  12. It's also absolute bullshit. Each of Ken's Shoryuken's does more damage than Ryu's equivalents, added to that is the fact that you can actually hit the opponent with two consecutive weak shoryuken's before he hits the ground, cancelling into it from a close strong/fierce punch combo is hilariously powerful. Ken >>>>>>> Ryu. Do you seriously think that the "story" has any bearing on the character's in game fighting ability?
  13. Something in the above post reminded me of the Mars Volta. Like the best band ever. They'll make you horny.
  14. Went to karate in the morning, played guitar and Mario Galaxy most of the day, and am now curling up with a well undeserved joint to watch Scrubs. Life is monotonous when you don't have someone riding your ass to get some work done...
  15. Oh hells yeah, I haven't played Gears with you guys for the longest time. Looking forward to it .
  16. Goron_3: Rocky, Smash Bros, awesomeness. Oxigen Waste: "Mirror stares back hard" The Fish: I see Richard Dawkins, but with a sense of humour. Stocka: Shenmue Conzer: pink hearts, yellow moons, orange stars, and green clovers. Mcj_Metroid:...Metroid, funnily enough. Fierce_Link: Some distant memory of Samus jumping onto my face in a hail of missiles from about 200 feet above, giving me the shit scariest moment of my life on MPH. Good times. Jordan: Anime, Rez, Shetland. McMad: Gears of War/ Rainbow Six buddies!! We were the best team ever. Stefkov: Manchester, Gears, Complaining about people screaming into their headsets...and that oddly sedated sounding voice Takeo Miyazaki: He always reminds me of his first ever avatar; the one with cel shaded link. Was very cool. Dan Dare: Joy Division, Metroid, fighters, insanity. Dyson: Pure Pwnage
  17. Yeah, it's fair enough if you don't like them, at least you gave them a chance .
  18. That was themost fuckin retarted film i'veever seen, including the naked gun series. AndI'm drunk. And my spacebar wont work.
  19. Jesus, dude, don't start with Maiden, Deth or Slayer. Stick to some Metallica to begin with; songs like "One," "The Unforgiven," "Nothing Else Matters" (ie. The ballads) and then stuff like "Battery" and "Orion" (You said you liked classical, this is one beautiful Bartok inspired 8 minute instrumental) etc. And then when you identify what it is that you can appreciate, or even like, try to look for the same qualities in other bands. I know with Megadeth, the lyrics and singing can be ridiculously jarring to begin with, but you get used to them, because it's the underlying instrumental proficiency that makes them so awe inspiring. Good metal, like good Jazz is an aquired taste.
  20. Oh, lol, ok. That's fair enough...although, how do you have a shower and not wash your hair? o_0...
  21. High fucking five! Best plectrums ever. I have red ones, so I win.
  22. Game/Waterstones loyalty cards, 57 quid, 2 Jazz III Plectrums, and a condom (hey, I'm always deludedly optimistic, it's the reason I keep coming on these forums).
  23. You go 2-3 days without showering? Eew...
  24. If you can't judge people on their choices and opinions, you can't judge them on anything. I'm not having this debate with a Britney Spears fan. But hey, if you choose to fill your time with garbage like that, feel free. Just don't expect to be taken seriously within this thread. Right. Listening to Ihsahn. Fucking amazing, it's pretty different from his previous stuff. So atmospheric.
