probably because they're under non-disclosure agreements with nintendo.

people don't care about graphics with the DS, and i don't think nintendo are losing sales there somehow!!! i got hyped about 3DO before it came out, but then thanks to panasonic's non-existent marketing and huge price the machine flopped i didn't get one till a year after launch too!! imagine not being able to get a Wii until 12 months after its release and you'll know the torture i went thru lol! got my GC six months after launch and it was an impulse by, so no hype for me. the DS i was looking forward to the midnight launch but wasn't overly hyped. was really looking forward to it i have to say, but now being online talking to you lot and seeing the Wii in action i am PUMPED!! this is the first time i've been so involved in the pre-launch "circus" and i'm loving it... but can't wait until it's over too!

the more the merrier surely! ONM's still the best in my book, dunno about ngamer yet, might settle into it i guess, but i'll check out revolution too

i don't want a lot of lazy ports! we suffered from that last generation!! look at marvel ultimate alliance and mortal kombat, both are ports but the developers love the controller and i personally think these could be the best versions. you can't just say "it'll be hell to play" before you've even got the wiimote in your hands for a round of wii-tennis! have faith! nintendo are changing gaming, and i personally don't want developers porting things over and not even using the wiimote, gaming is being changed for the better, any developers that are gonna be so lazy aren't worth my money in my book! look at developers like midway etc who were lazy last gen, they ported over ps2 games without optimizing them for cube, and no one bought them. even midway aren't making the same mistakes this time. and saying some game genres won't fit onto the wiimote is just premature! i give the above example again of the marvel game. while it may or may not be a great game itself, it is in a genre you wouldn't normally think would "fit" the wiimote yet the developers are tackling the challenge head-on and i think its controls sound great! bundling the classic controller would be a huge mistake, keep it as an optional extra for GC and VC games like it was always intended. EDIT: read ign's report on marvel, mortal kombat, and the thread here on madden. if developers wish to (and they all seem more than willing to) they can "port" games to wii, and not only take full advantage of the wiimote, but also make it a better gaming experience than the original versions.

photies of where you live (if you're on 56k tough luck!)

ok, still haven't got a hold of a digi camera yet so these are stolen from the tourist board lol! A view of Belfast from Cave Hill: Yes, somehow, palm trees abound in "Norn Irn": And central Belfast at night - looks cool doesn't it? -
they all look overly complicated which means none of those robots have ANY personality, just like the more modern cartoons instead of the eighties ones

ok, so what happens now? we come up with the stories and whichever story in each match gets the most votes wins yeh? i see it's your crocked 006 against my talking car, ViPeR (you get your name from that "knight rider"-esque tv show?)

you have a good point, didn't they confirm games are on DVD-discs...? and that the DVD playback is thru a dongle that'll slot inside the machine and make use of the main CD drive? i'd like that to happen, and with the DS getting Opera and MP3 add-ons i can't see nintendo shunning DVD movie playback altogether. i have a very good Goodmans DVD player in my room, but it'll get moved to the living room if Wii has DVD playback (live in shared accomodation, no player in living room at mo) quick edit: my word!! 800th post! doesn't this forum just suck you in...?!

i never played golden axe, i think it and super mario world (which i also haven't played believe-it-or-not) will be my first games, just because i've always heard so much about them and now i can find out for sure. will be interesting to see how often they all update their lists, i'm still hoping on solstice from the NES...
-
well i'm getting myself hyped. three conferences, all the press invited, this is the big 'un! everything they are gonna release info of before launch will be talked about here. even if one or two things (like the full extent of its online service - multiplayer gaming i mean) are left to nearer the time this'll still be a hhuuugggeee relief for us all when we get so much info
-
won't happen. nintendo promised all along the whole planet would have it by end of this year. even the NOE site has it listed as 2006. and they're good at keeping promises, as i don't think they make any that they know they can't keep, unlike sony! after all, there really is no need for zelda to come out on cube, but they promised it, and it is!
-
this is all sounding very complicated lol! but thanks pestneb for the times, 2pm thursday it is . anyone know of any live feeds yet...?
-
that doesn't answer anything that pestneb and i are asking, we asked what time in Greenich Mean Time are all three conferences. So, anybody know? and how about those live feeds...?
-
a rough figure is always bandied about by the press before something new comes out, some just decide not to let on that it's only a guess.

i felt the DVD's were very poorly made, and surely using a magazine's "free" DVD as a promotional aid for one of your staff's band is illegal in some way?! CUBE did indeed finish with issue 53.
-
if that is made into another crazy-frog-type hateful ringtone i'll cry!
-
imagine publishing were starting to piss me off, gamestm was so far up sony's arse for so long there! but even that magazine is swinging around to nintendo's way of thinking and is breaking down its sony fan boy barriers lol! i'll probably end up buying every nintendo magazine - damn it! ONM is still my fave as it's the most professional (and has CUBE's chandra remember) and still very funny, and ngamer... well, if this magazine is better i MIGHT sacrifice ngamer... we'll see... good to hear it's out so soon!! quite shocked after the long build-up for new magazine releases usually!

GAME: Nintendo Wii Price and Release Date
knightendo replied to Indie James's topic in Nintendo Gaming
exactly! though it is cool to see the countdown clock up in my local HMV, it's advertising the Lite at the min. it's getting me more bloody hyped if that's possible!!! -
wii sports golf will be a nice add-on to the sports package at launch, but this is intriguing me. thing is, i never liked tiger woods golf games. i had pebble beach for 3DO but it bored me quickly too. however, i love mario golf on GCN! now, apart from the mario characters and courses the controls were basically the same as pebble beach but a lot more in-depth, so i'm thinking this will a good purchase too. if i liked toadstool tour i'm sure to like this, right...?
-
that was one of my reasons on the previous page too that, along with the closing date of the competition, and the ps3's original launch date, so i'm still going with friday 10th. and nick, nintendo have already promised the games won't be any more expensive than GCN games, so have third parties.
-
oh this is definitely it alright... and all this talk of NOE letting us down, we all thought that with the GDC but in hindsight they proved the promise they set out last year, and it was just the net that hyped it up, even the magazines didn't hype it, so i'm not worried at all. so can anyone tell us what time (british time that is) the japan and US conferences start? i have no idea how far ahead/behind japan is, and i forget about new york's difference... and is there a live stream for them all that anyone knows about...?
-
and let's not forget that without game&watch maybe the DS wouldn't be here today, and then where would nintendo be? doesn't bare thinking about, may he rest in peace, and may his legacy strive forward...

is this another one of those films that changes history to make it look like it was the americans' mission instead of the british?

how so? what features did the VMU have? and how were they used in-game? sorry, i never had one and know very little about it other than it was a very under-aprreciated console that deserved so much more from what i've read over the years. just looking at the controller though, was it not very big and cumbersome? like the jaguar's and original xbox controllers? saw a dreamcast in my local cash converters last year, never bought it unfortunately. maybe sega will make some games available through VC someday...
