  1. I found Soul Bubbles kind of dull and yeah, it's level based, without much in the way of overlying narrative. LostWinds 2 is a safer bet. 999 is awesome if you're looking for a game with a great story. One of my favorite DS games. The only downside is that you'll have to replay puzzles several times to get the different endings. Edit: Also, it's really hard to recommend games to someone who's already played everything.
  2. Man, I need to start hanging around Ashley so I can get in on all of that free stuff he keeps getting. Yeah, because you were likely to win that award before this post.
  3. Limbo comes to mind as a game that's somewhat similar in tone to A Shadow's Tale, and it doesn't have a lot of enemies (it does have plenty of traps, though). The first two Oddworld games have similar gameplay, but also have a lot of enemies, so they're probably not quite what you're looking for. Heavy Rain has very little combat and what little there is plays out as quicktime events. Otherwise, you've got any stealth game worth its salt. Series like Thief, Splinter Cell and Hitman can be played without killing very many enemies. I especially like Thief 2, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Hitman: Blood Money. Though it sounds like you're probably looking for more relaxing games.
  4. This has probably been linked to before, but this website is a goldmine for anyone likes Donald Duck comics (especially if you're a fan of Carl Barks and/or Don Rosa).
  5. Don't tell me you're in love with him too, ReZ.
  6. Writer/artist.
  7. I vote for Dog-amoto's movie round because he asked me to.
  8. Number 5 is one of my favorite Don Rosa comics.
  9. From here, most likely.
  10. Clearly Kirby ate an arrow, Danny. Have you even played a Kirby game before?
  11. With the life system, having to start back at the start of the game every time you lose all of your lives and the lack of 1ups (which, in one of the most surprising design decision, don't even respawn!), losing all your experience points when you lose all of your lives really wouldn't have been that much of a stretch. I always felt that The Battle of Olympus was the game Adventure of Link should have been.
  12. Four Swords Adventures was... weird. It was entertaining, but not much of a Zelda game. At some point in the future, when I have the money and willing friends, I'm going to buy a few GBAs and link cables so I can finally play the game in multiplayer. It really is too bad Nintendo didn't make this game without the NGC+GBA connection.
  13. So who does Kirby like more?
  14. Man, you should just take the train like a normal person. j/k
  15. The problem with Adventure of Link is that you're sent back to the start if you die three times (it's three times, right?). I don't know why they thought introducing a life system was a good idea -especially not when it's so unforgiving. I think you also lose all of your experience when you lose all of your life? And then there's the fact that it's so easy to be knocked down pits and losing a life that way. The first game can be difficult at times, but there's nothing that kills you in one hit.
  16. Three weeks later, and there seems to be a new mission pack called 'Arrival' on the way.
  17. I haven't really been feeling these last few episodes, but the latest episode was really good.
  18. By that logic no one should ever be upset about anything, because there are always people who have it worse. I hope things work out for you, ReZ. And you were so happy about getting that job not too long ago, too.
  19. Haha, I love how you snuck some bondage rope in there at the end.
  20. It's a bit sad/weird how the extent of Smurfette's personality is that she's 'the girl'. It always creeped me out how she was created by Gargamel and made beautiful by Papa Smurf. Apparently Sassette was created in much the same way (though clearly Papa Smurf never got his hands on her, or she'd be a blond bombshell too). God knows how Nanny Smurf was created.
  21. I love the irony of someone called Retro_Link not having played the entire Legend of Zelda series.
  22. I'm amused by the thought of a Fantastic Four toy set without an Invisible Woman. I love the idea of a generation of little boys growing up with Mister Fantastic and The Thing 2 in a committed relationship when they play with their action figures. This is my favorite example of blatant Kinder Surprise sexism: Oh, how I coveted that nurse dinosaur.
  23. I sometimes think it'd be fun to replay the entire series (especially since I've only played most of the games once), but I'd probably end up giving up somewhere around the second game.
  24. My favorite toys were the hand-painted Kinder Surprise figurines.
