  1. I'm in time for the thread?! Happy birthday! Have this animated pic to show my enthusiasm
  2. Got up at 7am today... to do a car boot sale! Lugged a big suitcase of dvds and books up a massive hill... and for 4 hours of hawking I managed to get just over £40! Very surprised, considering it was fairly quiet there, too. Not going to let the fact that I owe £90 dampen my day at all :P
  3. Sounds like dehydration rather than bad booze! Take it easy today man.
  4. Ell; lol :P Sorry been busy recently. however, I don't think losing 9-0 would really do much for my team's self esteem.
  5. Back earlier today from a nice 4-day trip to the Isle of Wight with my lady and a couple of friends. Saw 90% of the island and generally had a good time. Lack Of Money hindered it a fair bit, mind you... You really can't holiday cheap anywhere. Especially the Isle of Wight, where they seem to survive on gift shops. Won a pub quiz though! And saw TWO black people there!
  6. Got back from a brisk break away to find 3 letters from teh job centre, two saying "we have changed your claim because: You wanted to end your claim" and another letter saying "everything we have given you this year is taxable. Expect something in teh post." Luckily these letters are dated before two of my 4 visits last week, so I'm expecting another couple of letters. Also received my latest paycheck -- underpaid by a measley £19 -- but it it still a much-needed £19, considering that would've covered my phone bill... which hasn't been paid, and now I can't send texts or make calls :P it's all a bit of a sardonic patch at the moment, but I'm able to sit back and wryly appreciate the moronic nature of it all!
  7. Been to job centre four times this week to sort out a growing mess. Essentially about a month ago I go in to tell them I have a job where I'll work either 0, 10 or 20 hours a week, with up to a month between shifts. The rule is that you can work up to 16 hours and still be subsidised, and ignoring the first £5, every pound you earn is a pound less in benefits you'll receive - so essentially any week I have a shift I'll not get any benefits. However knowing I would be facing a month without a shift, I checked with the job centre - they told me to fill in these 'declaring work and pay' forms and bring them in on my next sign-on date to be processed. Of course, it wasn't this simple. I sign on on mondays - bank holiday monday meant I didn't go in after my shifts (where the mess might've been spotted sooner), instead a fortnight later I go in with my form and they say "oh? Oh your declaring work? But that's not been set-up on the systems. You'll have to come back tomorrow. We'll set it up there." SO I go back tuesday. "Declaring work? No problem-- Oh, what's this? Worked 20 hours? Sorry but we're closing your claim. You'll have to phone this number." "So I'm not getting any benefit this week?" "Phone this number, they'll answer any questions." "Any sort of clue as to wtf is going on that you can give me?" "Number. Phon eeeet." SO I go home and phone it and they tell me my claim's been closed, so I have to basically do when you first apply -- do a 30 min phone call to establish my circumstances - hours I'm hoping to work, where I live, etc, etc. Guy on the phone was lovely and from sheffield so we had a chat at the end. He gives me an appointment for friday, half 3, the next available slot. FRIDAY. It starts at 10am to go to a "how to find a job" course the job centre put me on when I went out of my way to tell them I had a job... i.e. a complete waste of time. Lasted 5 hours. The plus side of that was I happened to be sitting next to someone with the same surname as me, who had a son with the same first name as me (who went to my school but never met him). Still, I have to put my hand up and excuse myself at 3 so I can go to job centre... JOB CENTRE. Despite having my details on their system already, despite the 30-min phone call where I went through everything, I fill out 5 forms and explain my situation to three employees. I told them I know when my shifts are and I'll know when I'll do 20 hours. They said that that's great - but each time I do a 20 hour week, even if I've got no work for a month after, I will have to do teh 30-min call/paperwork and wait 14 days for the next payment. Because we were all so confused it was soon 5pm on a friday and we weren't done... so I had to go back this morning -- saturday morning -- at 9am for more form-ing. Of course, the solution is get another jerb - for sure! The annoying stuff is I'm away from tomorrow for a few days on a little rainy break to the isle of wight with my girl and some friends. We've planned for a cheap holiday... but £60 from my last paycheck isn't much at all. tl;dr - part-jobless bum complaining about not getting his free money, and expects sympathy for the stupid beurocracy of it all.

  9. Up early, so watching Australia - Ireland. Not watched rubgy in aaaages. Both sides are quite strong offensively but Australia seem better at pressing for possession. Cheering for ireland! Hope they can hang on - mind you I don't know who is 'supposed' to win, these day :P
  10. I had to stop watching it because it made my life seem far too dull.
  11. I had to stop watching it because it made my life seem far too dull.
  12. Recruitment is such a shallow, bullshittery and target-pimping industry. Guy there called Jon Wang (lololo) is the sort of guy who rings you, and the conversation is generally; Me: "Hi Jon, how's it going?" Jon: "Hi James! It's Jon! You alright?" "Fell over and landed in a blender. My nose feels like a fishing net" "Good, goooooood. So hey, listen, this role's landed on my desk and I think it's perfect for you." "I also have to look in three directions at once in order to cross the road now." "Faaantastic. So the job is blahblahblah. What do you think? Good, huh?" "I am you. I am you. I am tearing out of our skinshell as we speak." .... basically he's a nob. One time he got me an interview and I said I wouldn't be able to start for a month, but he said naah go for it, tell them, it'll be fine. So get up for a 9am interview and tell them I can't start for a month and they thankandhandshakeBYE me. My ex-housemate was in recruitment for a bit and I can genuinely see that it's a ballache of a job. Also, my current job has a lot of agency-recruited dudes who... basically don't speak english, never turn up in the correct uniform, etc. But yeah - moog are you calling the depot or the agency? Perhaps getting in touch with them the night before is a smarter move?
  13. Not sure if spambot or...
  14. Last season I had an 18-4 keeper and failed to get him any skill increase at all. Just got a 19-4 youth. Am cry 5 visible skill increase on my change report... and 4 visible reductions. CRYCRYCRY.
  15. I guess I gotta work on average form, then. Change report was rather... humbling. Team essentially is worse than last year, apparantly.
  16. I really don't like ITV's commentary. It genuinely adds to the dullness of games, and frequently filled with bias. No enthusiasm and just... blinkered commentary. To be fair, I can't remember teh name of the MOTD commentator, but he's the one that's always saying "he should've done better" or "he should've saved it" or "he should've scored" -- he often seems almost asleep when commentating. Totally ruins the atmosphere.
  17. Yeah indeed. I think both will see their way through their respective groups relatively unscathed. Just a bit odd not seeing man u score a bajillion goals. Nice to see Man city imitating united again :P Srsly - this season will truly kick off once man u vs man c happens.
  18. I think there's plenty of reasons to be excusing that man u didn't win, for sure -- ramar says that arsenal had a similar performance but were slated. I think the difference is that currently a performance like man u just displayed is easier to forgive; it's easier to see man u performing better and offering more on the return leg. Having said that, I've not seen the arsenal game :P
  19. Was talking about Jonnas :P
  20. All I came out of that game was a desire to go hunt down some giggs youtube genius... But as for the rest of the performance? That perhaps the united squad isn't as deep as fergie would like, that despite there being a good bunch of youth that are relatively experienced, there isn't enough 'flair' going on. Overall I don't get to watch full games often, and MOTD highlights spoil me - 1-0 like that is duuull.
  21. ReZ; how did you acquire that knowledge? I'm cool with keeping the gates open on him, but I want to know I can trust your info.
  22. ReZ; read my post closely again. Jonnas may be the protector in the first part of the write-up. Just noticed - there's a new element to the write-up that I missed earlier!
  23. Divulging the theory would, if the theory is correct, perhaps endanger jonnas in the very vein that he is seeking to avoid. While we seem to have a good roster of potential maffs, the maffs themselves may have a good idea of who to go after, too. having weighted it up (and typed it out and deleted it twice), I figure I ought to share it. Sorry (possibly, depending on if it's true :P) Jonnas! The write-up contains two isolated incidents. A protector saved someone from a murderer in the first one. The second we see a killer take out tales. I believe that jonnas is insinuating he is neither killer, but instead the protector. It is the (potentially cover) story he is going for. If it's a cover, then there's an individual out there who knows he is lying (the true protector), however if it's true, then unfortunately we have two people that hte mafia may be after tonight - mr-paul and jonnas. In this situation the mafia will have the advantage of knowing whether jonnas is telling the truth or not (unless the two-maff theory is correct, in which case it may be of the same consequence to an opposing mafia to consider jonnas a target). Murray was a protector that the maff got the first night, which means we may be low on them anyway. Mr-paul targetted himself, which suggests jonnas can too - which means we may need to rely on an as-of-yet unknown helper to ensure mr-paul sees it through the night. So there you go. Effectively, we need to hope there's another secret protector who is able to remain anonymous for the rest of teh game, else jonnas's days are numbered. So what was 3 potential maff is now one most-likely, one not-sure and one even-less-so. In my eyes, anyway. Potential Doublepost: ReZ; you certain? If Jonnas really is a killer and not a protector then yea, he should come first. That is, unless you're in cahoots with heroijan (always gotta keep those logic windows open :P)
