    Have you any idea what the modules you're covering yet? I know that the Leeds Uni library is very good, so you've got that to look forward to. In your first year you won't have too much diversity. My course focused heavily on the origin of the novel, and the three year course pretty much covered the growth of the novel chronologically, from epistolar things like Pamela (shudder) up to the post-industial and post-ww2, post-colonial, postmodern and other post- nonsense... I'll give my 'library' an overview and try to recommend you a few good books that have stood out over the years as seminal works.

    I would say with Crusoe that it hasn't really aged well. The subject matter's been done on multiple formats over the years and in more interesting ways. The (... what're they called, travel journals? or something) genre was pretty much launched with Crusoe, and you have to think that the contemporary readers were stunned by this alien scenario... With Thomas Hardy I just find he waffles on, and on, and motherfucking on, with an average page count of something like 600, his books are too leisurely and puffy. I'm not really too keen on many books pre-1900, because I just don't have the days of dawdling of an 18th century housewife. Ok, maybe I do BUT I have far more distractions :P You say you're starting uni after the summer? Are you doing an english course? If so, I'm sure a list of books can be thrown together for you. Your list is very excellent, mind you! When I get back to brighton I'll compose my own summer schedule for comparison

    I've put in a challenge request for mundi's team It's crazy how close teh bottom of the top league ended up -- only 5 points separating 6th-10th. All my players are 100%, except one at 80% who I might get rid of, and two about 36% as I just didn't have enough games since I acquired them to get them any higher. Last season I got an overall increase of only 2 or so, but this season I'm really hoping for mass improvement.

    I would've said the same about Jude the Obscure. But then, I hate thomas hardy. 100 Years of Solitude is one of my favourite books 20 books in a summer is easy. I read over 10 in a 3 week holiday to australia.

    if there are BISHes left completely undone near the end of the game, I'm sure there can be replacements Goaferboy; I was about to let you off buuut enough people have pointed out enough reasons why you ought to play on. Plus, the picture this all spurred from is in your house, and you clearly managed to find someone to take pictures of you for other BISH entries, so that can be re-done. It is only fair to keep the rules as they are, I'm afraid. You're practically winning already too!

    Lol. Changed my tactics seconds before the game. Clearly; not cool at all. Feel silly BUT! Well done ReZ - you're not bad at all Congrats on staying up. Please pretend to cube that I threw the game to keep you up and send him down. Surprisingly, the last 3 games which I thought I'd ace I played awfully in. My team's really struggled with the end of the season. Here's hoping their form stays good. Congrats to Ell, Charlie and Shorty! It all mixed up on the last day. Hope the rest of you guys keep it up for next season; EEVIL, Mundi and ten10 are going to be the big three, and Cube is going to be trying his damn best to whup all your asses :P Now! I need a good change report... doi!

    Ganepark/Gizmo; amexisonfire are, to me, eternally entwined with Eighteen Visions. Silverstein was the fore-runner to Senses Fail and Underoath for me, but I guess you both know them already. Two Stars Burning Sun is something you really want to listen to if you need to be cool. Good luck finding their stuff, though. Flight of the Jesus Dog, as I said before, is awesome; maybe a bit too heavy and again, obscure. Element Eighty of Need For Speed soundtrack fame are a bit of fun. The track Pancake Land always gets me :P

    Well today Shorty drove me to a DHL centre where i picked up my german festival tickets, then nami joined us for a long walk through some woods, then I joined my juggling crew and we drank/frisbee'd the day away. Currently sitting with three friends playing Mario Kart on the Wii, feeling very tired. Tomorrow I need my room to be LOVELY, and then it's a big bbq at a friend's house. Should be very good.

    JonSt; it's interesting that they've given the OC guy's character an OC character all over again! It's like throughout this season he's trying to persuade his fellow cast that he's not that O.C. twatface that he seems to be. Watch more episodes. There's still plenty of surprises

The picture of you as Frank isn't clearly you, so I'm sorry to say I can't accept it right now... Dannyboy; the dan-likes-trees thing is precisely what I was saying to shorty in the car, so that's fine, but I'm afraid you will have to do your full username in fruit/veg, so I cannot accept that. The mousetache is something I'll have to ask the original BISHer whether it's acceptable or not. And while I can accept the frying pan, I do hope that people do more crazy things :P

You can do your own, I suppose As for the gold star idea; if an equal number of BISHes are submitted then there'll be some sort of 24-hour BISH-off between those tied on an agreed date. We all know that would be beyond awesome. Beeyawsome.
