  1. You're a brighton/sheffield guy too? Even if a december meet isn't happening, I'd love to swap stories of brighton with you in jan when ashley visits!
  2. Nope, sorry. That's my trademark Eenuh.
  3. That Welsh_Gamer didn't get a mention is shocking. But yeah you win. You have 5 people in your entire country.
  4. That's totally five, not four. You fail. ...
  5. Ganepark; er, have you, like talked to this girl?! FFS! So are you actually totally gay now? Lube on 22 inches isn't going to do much.
  6. Mmn. Mcoy's only lost 1 of his last 11 games, and is a bit of a drawmeister. He changes tactics a fair bit, and I'm genuinely scared of pretty much all of my matches. I don't think I've set terribly good tactics at all. Probably going to change them about 5 times before the game though.
  7. Well seeing as us northern ken are all facing similar time/distance issues, and seeing as ReZ suggested we have another meet at the same time and do some silly phone call or something, it seemed sensible :P Plus, like, nobody's actually said they'll come yet.
  8. Rummy; the logistics just don't seem to match up too great. It'd take 4 hours to get there, and as it's a sunday it'd have to be a total of 8 hours travelling for what would be maybe 4 hours of meet. Sunday I get time and a half at work, too, so I'd be spending £50 rather than earning it... I want to go, and my sheff meet is mostly not going to happen, I imagine, because I really can't be arsed to organise it.
  9. "non-stunning", then?
  10. I really, really want to comment on the clark/louis relationship, and how I felt this episode dealt with it, but really! I only know of it from the movies and The Adventures of Louis and Clark, so I can't risk sounding like a know-it-all (for once). I think there's a lot more weight with the Louis/clark relationship than there was with Lana. Lana made it excessively Dawson's Creek-esque. This relationship is a lot more emotive and cerebral, and has a larger scope to play with -- surely why it has become such an eponymous duo in the first place.
  11. Ok. I would say videogames haven't impacted my life at all, beyond the videogame's sister that is the internet. Gaming hasn't notably altered my character, but it has been the ultimate common ground for many of us as we journeyed through the netosphere. It's like blaming weed for crack addiction - while there's a tenuous link, there's really no strong correlation. Where I work we sell a lot of edutainment games. There are actually several platforms (two main ones -- v-tech and leapfrog) that have a lot of big-brand names who release games that promote both gaming experience as well as, well, learning. I may be mistaken but I think disney have a stake in v-tech, and as such they release a lot of pixar-related games to encourage positive thinking in small children, or whatever. Gaming really has come a long way, even if you just concentrate on this area. Here lies space for further discussion. A) because gaming is supposed to be escapism; It is better to let a nutter kill in-game if it means they're less likely to commit the same act in reality. The subconscious aspect is, as I said, a part of the edutainment sector, which is booming more than you realise (seeing as you're not a kid/parent). Partly, we have nintendo to thank for this, due to their mass-appeal, gaming-does-more-than-entertain (it makes you smarter and fitter!) mentality. That our entire lives are subconscious manipulations is definitely a debate for another topic.
  12. My God. Just watched the same smallville episode. Seriously, this is easily the best season so far. Iltarted off record-breakingly slow, but they're really seeping into all sorts of avenues regarding the superman legacy. It's really surreal to still be calling the show smalville, at this point.
  13. Name four. (that was to jimbob. Flink; No, I'm in sheff xmas [alone!] and new years, sowwy buddy )
  14. Haden if you can stretch yourself to central london then surely you can make st. albans? :P
  15. My xbox360 collection is made up of nearly entirely 18-rated games. Flink; you say that different violent movies bring different violence to the table -- I say that the difference is irrelevent. The point is that parents don't think games are equally disturbing or obscene as movies are. I thus suggest that we let parents make their mistakes, and then let them learn from it. They only have themselves to blame. Personally, working where I do, I've declined the sale of not only MW2, but also pretty much a billion games to customers because they've been unable to show proof. Sometimes I've even had to decline to give them the game even though they've already paid for it, because they don't have proof of age. So long as the game makers and the game retailers are upholding the law, then there simply is no argument at all. Those responsible for the protection of younger people's minds should really step the fuck up and do their jobs. But seriously - did anyone see the show in question?
  16. soo.. Sheffield meet; Confirmed; jayseven nightwolf People who are coming unless they have a really good excuse; Shaggis Razziatore Dan Dare nightwolf Shorty Nami Mr Odwin Stefkov Wesley Kigan ... :P EDIT: lol nightwolf on both lists.
  17. I love how Flashforward is totally making the British Villain the In Thing again. But wait- what -- did I miss teh part where bearded alcoholic's daughter returned? I am very confusd. Did I miss an episode since the suicide? Anyway - why the hell do that 'winner takes all' bit? So idiot. Charlie-from-lost had about 1000 times the amount of chips. Such a ridiculous moment. NEW BAD GUY MOMENT. Seven of them. Etc. I dunno - not a great follow-up episode, but I guess they need to fill-out the whole 'there's an enemy' lore, so despite these weak foundations I think the future episodes can promise MOAR. That's a strong theme of this show, actually -- "the future promises stuff!" rather than "each episode is totally awesome!" Unfortunately I'm the sort of person who rarely completely gives up on a show, but a more stable individual might've been tempted by this episode. Apparantly next week's episode is the last listed on IMDB. That means an xmas break rather than the end of the season, right?
  18. Oh, more than you would ever believe.
  19. Only on special occasions.
  20. According to a new facebook application thing, I spend 8 and a third hours a day there... so, uh... add to that 8 hours a day getting to work, working, and getting home, and at least 6 hours of sleep, I guess I spend 2 hours eating, pooping and masturbating.
  21. I'm very glad of your reply! I've said this before, but only because it is something you repeatedly do -- that is, post the same video in several locations, which is unnecessary. I understand you want to reach as maximum an audience as possible, but when the user-groups "cross-over" between your target areas surmounts to a greater number than the smaller numbers of each sect that you are aiming to pick up, then it's worthless, and becomes more annoying than productive. Yes, I appreciate that the above paragraph was massively unclear. Sorry. I agree that the creative board doesn't get much attention, but the way to not be a part of the solution is to be a part of the problem; by altering the idea so it fits gen chit-chat. By posting merely links to your thread in this board you're more likely to get memebers to have a gander at other threads here on their way out. That's the only way to increase the popularity of this place. LONG THREAD OMG, yes, but I've always felt that this board has been hugely underused. I am drunk (excuse) so I don't apologise for the rambles.
  22. ReZ; you need to tone down the amount of self-promotion. Don't post the same video in a tonne of different threads, ok? In future (e.g. when you post ep.2) post a link to the first place you've posted the video. If you post is only a link to the vid, or if it's obvious that you just made the post in order to further promote the vid, then I'll delete it. Kai?
  23. (to be fair - I liked it. Instead of salt it should be cheese, though. Mostly because you're wrong about the salt-stuff. Bring back the lego stop-motion shorts too. Plus you kinda proved you don't always wear that hat anymore. You also pointed teh wrong way at the end, right?)
