  1. Supernatural has the odd ability where, at the start of an episode, it raises a question you weren't even aware you were thinking. With Hammer of the Gods, the title alone made me realise that, with this storyline being so truly epic, the show surely has nowhere to go for the next season. Pluralisation combined with the nordic connotations... Maybe a new mythos is the next step? Highlights of teh ep; - Baron Samedi - That woman who snuck into the latter seasons of BSG who became 'important' and none of us cared - The Darth choke - And, best of all...
  2. Yeah it's their current advertising campaign. They even went to a real village called Sandwich and did some fun things.
  3. - Still angry - Made some Life Altering Decisions - Work in the morning - Went to bed at 9am - Totally fucked - Sorrow drowning ensues
  4. Just to reiterate; I will ban anyone who spoils Lost for me. I don't care if you've been a member for 7 years, I will still be pissed off. And I probably will only be arsed to one-touch ban-and-clear your ass, so it'll be as if you never existed. So don't.
  5. Wow, I actually got more notice of st. george's day than St. Patrick's this year! On Paddy'sday I was invited out and had no idea of the cause 'til I strolledthrough town through crowds of guiness hats! My spacebar is acting up a little. Poor lappy. HIMYM s04!
  6. Dyson; peanut butter is the neutral party, there. My ex used to eat cheese, cucumber and apple sandwiches all the time ... This is you being 'bold'?!
  7. O_W; you're teh sort of guy who dies aged 30 under iffy circumstances... My current job I've never had a sick day - but I managed to totally forget I had a shift one. My attendence for my 3rd year of college was something like 23%, and for my (very) part time job at woolies at the same time it was something like 46%. I'd wake up in leeds and be all "ohshitohshi-- I'm supposed to start work in 20 mins!" ... and 'work' was over 200 miles away. I'd call in sick. These days I feel too responsible to do such a thing.
  8. Banana with ham and cheese. Thank me later.
  9. So far today I've woken up and brought facebook and n-e to my screen... To do: hear up leftover soup, go to work, come home, drink, watch season 4 of himym. A trivial day today.
  10. Happy birthday! again! And again!
  11. Yeah I was thinking that too. CONSPIRACY METHINKS!
  12. I just remembered a tv show I saw - it was one of those "police, camera, action!" things from america where they saw a car pulled up on the hard shoulder and went up to the passenger window to see the driver and his wife were asleep. They arrested the man on some bullshit law because he did the right thing -- he felt tired and pulled over to take a nap. The police officer said "there's a [motel?] 20 miles up the road, you should've waited 'til you got there." Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the right thing to do would've been to do what this guy did - to pull over and avoid any potential highway pile-up. He got fined a few thousand dollars and had some american-version-of-points added to his license. It just still bothers me.
  13. Beard = wise. We all know this is true. *strokes beard*
  14. Goafer; yeah it's only really worrying if you start following Maybe Avenue, and while I do genuinely believe that we are left in the dark for... something mystical/conspiratorial, I also don't think I, personally, have anything to worry about at all. Essentially the data known about us cannot be used against us unless we first need to be defended, i.e. we've been caught for a crime and they are searching the Big Bro network for proof. The danger is twofold - one that with so much info out there, could you prove someone innocent guilty through selection, and two, that our information is being sold to third parties without our express permission, therefore cutting us out of a deal worth MILLIONS... or a few pence, I don't care.
  15. Yeah I think that app posted it on everyone's wall as soon as I allowed it access. A real shame. I hate being That Annoying Person Who Passes On Chain Mail.
  16. I thought it was pretty much just a shuffle of the deck, quickly getting the characters where we want them. Jack's obv. turned into a bit of a Locke himself with Sawyer switching into Jack's old role. The desmond episode a couple of weeks ago still echoes in my mind and this episode wasn't very Lost-like in general. But the side-flashes were competent and I look forward to Jack and Locke meeting after the surgery there, and generally to see where it's all going. For me the main mystery I want solving is the odd children that pop up from time to time to laugh at Locke/smokemonsterman.
  17. Something that just happened on facebook; a 'friend' of mine 'posted' something on my wall via Friends FAQ - the questions are all aimed at people who feel self-conscious, and you can't find out your 'friend's' response unless you allow access to your profile... Which I did to find a long page of supposed responses to questions, but in order to find out who said what I have to earn points by answering questions and... well, I've just removed the app and its access to my info (but of course, the 'contract' I agreed to 5 mins ago still counts so any info they gathered then they can still have now...) A mate just linked me to this article which is great for any paranoiacs out there. Essentially the UK is third-top in teh world's surveillence-heavy countries, only behind russia and china (!). The article, while promoting a mad-man's movie, does raise interesting points about modern freedom and our relative ignorance about who knows what about us, and what they use that information for.
  18. Season 2's "grinch" episode is a good and clear example of clever narrative reliability, and season 3's first episode kinda addresses what you suggest, Paj; not spoiling anything at all but there's a line that essentially says "so you know how your mother tells the story..." suggesting the kids know that already. I think the kids, while they look miserable, kinda like their dad's storytelling. Hell, I sure would!
  19. - Stayed up 'til 6am watching HIMYM (and had a cheeky spliff) - Woke up at 4pm (lols) - Gone to netto - Got THREE LITRES OF 7.5% CIDER FOR £2.49! - Christmas has come early - Also got a bottle of sidekick for £3 - Gonna make soup - Gonna watch Lost/HIMYM/V/Justified - 'Til the break of dawn
  20. My curry was pretty much a success - learned a few lessons for next time but it was definitely a curry, which is awesome. Got leftover curry paste and chickpeas from yesterday that I figure I could make a soup with; http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/curriedlentilandlime_74590.shtml
  21. Man, forgot about caprica. Only watched the pilot from, like, a year ago. Been sessioning How I Met Your Mother and... it's too good. Honestly. I'm actually starting to laugh outloud with every episode. Barney in the car as Ted gives him a 'driving lesson' had me in stitches! And the general narrative is so damn clever I wish I'd done a different course just so I could write essays about it. Last ep before bed last 'night' was How I Met Everyone Else (s03e06) after saying to myself "ok, just one more" after Moving Day (s02e18!). The wedding episodes were so awesome, and of course I had to hear the end of Barney's "LEGEN--". Generally speaking, do people generally have favourite seasons, or think the show is getting better/worse/dying now?
  22. Inertia has always been a nice word to me, and I've always been meaning to keep a note of words I love but I never do. CELLAR DOOR! (no, not really. Not at all.)
  23. So you're just here to find some WoW peeps to play with? I can't see you sticking around all too long, tbh.
