  1. Well as it happens I did message someone else last night - longer distance but better match % - so I thought it was worth a go, it was really late though and possibly ill-advised of me to be messaging at 2:30am - couldn't sleep - but I've got to at least try in the meantime I guess. It would be somewhat ironic if I finally got a reply back from the original person I was messaging after talking with someone else... or more like sod's law I suppose, meh I'll get there eventually. : peace:
  2. Happy Birthday! Have a good day but don't drink too much or your head will be 'bulbasore' in the morning! ... I'll see myself out.
  3. I honestly didn't think three messages within a whole week was that many. What would be your advice going forward? Just forget and move on or send another message apologising for 'freaking her out' if that is indeed the case? I'm genuinely asking here, it would seem to me though that sending one last message would be the way forward even though doing that would seem to be contradictory in itself, it seems to be something of a 'Catch 22' situation. On the other side of it, don't you think that it's a really frustrating way to communicate? You send a message... then how long do you wait for a reply? There seem to be loads of unwritten rules. Also to add some context, when she initially replied it was on the same day as I sent the message so I took that as being a good sign. It seems I have a lot to learn.
  4. It was all good up until that point, she even said that it would be nice to talk to someone who is equally as passionate about games, so I sent her three further messages - spread out over the course of the week - but I've yet to have a single additional reply since she first got back to me a week ago. So naturally I'm thinking to myself just what exactly did I do wrong? In my first follow-up message I just talked a little bit about games, asking what hers are, mentioning some of the games I play, she has a PS3 so I mentioned that I have one as it's that and the Wii U that I play the most - don't try and tell me that it was the Wii U's fault, its had enough blame already - on the second follow-up message I decided to tell her a bit about my day in vague detail also asking about hers and finally in the last message I simply kept it even shorter just asking her if she would like to meet up at some point - it even says on her page 'message me if you want to chat or even go for a coffee' so... - that's basically it. Should I just leave it there N-E? I mean she goes on the site daily - I check it once or twice a day, usually briefly - so it would seem to me that she either... a) isn't that bothered after all b) is already talking to someone else c) is too busy to reply but not to check the site I know I probably shouldn't trouble myself over this but it just seems odd to me, why say that you want to chat plus that you're looking forward to talking with someone who shares your enthusiasm for gaming more than anyone else and then... nothing. Anyway, any suggestions welcome as I am clearly hopeless at this, for now I'm just going to sign out of the dating site, play some more Mario Kart 8 and forget until I can figure out what to do. *Mario Kart makes everything better! *If all else fails I think I'll just invite her over to play MK8, if that doesn't get a response then I'm convinced that nothing will!

    Mario Kart 8

Well I managed to finish the first cup and now I am gutted that I have to go to work. But I shouldn't complain, I have the game a day early and for that I am grateful, at least it will be waiting for when I come home later. : peace: I finally have a reason to exist again thanks to Mario Kart 8! Being serious though, it has cheered me up no end. #thepowerofnintendomagic

@drahkon you hype-killer! Just kidding. : peace: ------------------ It had arrrrrrivvvved! First race was amazing. ... *realises I have to go to work soon* Off I go to cram as much Mario Kart 8 as is humanly possible into half an hour!
  10. Ike: 'You'll get no sympathy from me!' Mario: 'Mamma Mia!'
  11. It's been sorted, the controller wasn't exactly 'in bits' but the left bumper and left trigger definitely felt broken at the very least, it seems to have been a - potentially - 'honest mistake' by the seller as they don't seem to sell anything game related normally as they have 100% positive feedback and I'm not about to go and ruin that for them - likewise I wouldn't want my feedback record tarnished in retaliation either - besides they were very accommodating offering me a full refund (inc postage) plus a refund for the return postage as well, it's in the post now. : peace: But yes, still annoying even so. Anyway I seem to have enough Pro Controllers for my needs now in any case so it's fine though it's a shame that the pad wasn't almost new otherwise I would have sent it on to @Aneres11 instead but I wouldn't ever dream of selling anyone a broken Nintendo controller. Still it does indeed make me wonder though, just how did the controller manage to get that damaged in the first place, they are still pretty well made despite some claiming that they are 'cheap' feeling - personally I think they are solid - it's simply beyond me.

Just got 'the text' from ShopTo. :yay: Now... I wait. :p

Strange, I got an e-mail at 10:51am stating that 'Your order is on its way' which I'd take to mean that it's in a van and en-route... I've got to admit it did get my hopes up thinking that it might arrive today but I'll try and manage my expectations... ...Thursday it is!
  14. You might want to just go ahead and order a black Pro Controller from CPC instead Aneres... it has arrived in shall we say, less than perfect condition. The condition description was 'Used' but then the seller described it as being 'excellent' condition in the auction, I haven't even tried using it with my Wii U yet because there really is no point as here is a list of faults I've found just by extensively testing the sticks/buttons and seeing what it takes to get the lights to blink, so far I've found... Left stick non-clickable Left Bumper partially broken A, B and Minus button only work when pressed hard Home button is slightly harder to press than normal So I just thought I'd let you know to save you waiting around, I'm now going to contact the seller - who apparently doesn't issue refunds - to see what can be arranged before I resort to the eBay money back guarantee.
  15. It's definitely official, I made sure that I didn't make the same mistake twice - initially I ordered three fake Pro Controllers (unbeknown to me) which have been sent back now - I checked the seller's feedback etc, turns out it has literally had one careful lady owner - judging by the user ID - who just happened to be selling their White Wii U in one auction and the pro controller in another. Obviously just to make sure we'll wait until the controller actually arrives - which should be tomorrow - I'll confirm that it's official, check it charges/syncs/works, will PM to let you know and then we can take it from there hopefully. : peace: Besides now that I have three working black pro controllers I suppose I don't really need the white pro controller but it was just one of those items that I thought to myself at the time, well if I can get it for less than £40 including postage - which I did - then it would be nice to have one of an alternate colour but I can see that your need is greater than mine - I'm a little OCD too so I understand - so I'm happy enough to sell you it.
  16. Well as it happens, as part of my Pro Controller buying spree I have ended up with one Official White Pro Controller which I bought from eBay in an auction for the sum of £36.56 including postage, it hasn't even arrived yet but it should do by tomorrow with any luck and I guess I could part with it for the price I paid for the pad plus the cost of sending it on to you first class recorded delivery so that it would arrive in time for launch day... ...if you're interested that is.
  17. Well the two Pro Controllers that I managed to acquire new have arrived - incidentally I shipped those crappy fake ones back to the seller today - and I can confirm that they are both official! I got them from CPC for the price of £35.94 each with free postage. http://cpc.farnell.com/nintendo/2310866/wii-u-pro-controller-black/dp/SB05015 There are 22 left currently - I added loads to the basket to check their stock levels - and they are being sold 'Until stocks are exhausted' so now that I've confirmed that they are indeed genuine, I thought I'd share the link with you all seeing as they don't seem to be that widely known for selling videogame items but they are one of the largest suppliers of electrical items/replacement parts etc and they have a very good reputation. : peace: It might still be just over £10 more than the HMV deal - I don't have any stores local to me - but it's still a good option for anyone who can't find a pro controller anywhere for a sub £40 price. I'm just really pleased that I was able to get hold of two genuine boxed Pro Controllers in time, also 'Dayummmn! 'dat genuine new Pro Controller feeling!' :awesome:

    Mario Kart 8

It'll be tomorrow... would have preferred it being sent today though. They've taken the money already so I hope they ship it no later than Wednesday, with the correctly sized T-Shirt and no delay.
  19. Haven't you heard? It's the 'numchucks' they cost £340!
  20. It is... but then personally I'll only be using the pro controller for MK8.
  21. Welcome to the family! Annnd no the Pro controller isn't included in the Mario Kart 8 pack as far as I'm aware, though it really should have been. -------------------------------------- Speaking of, I've just bitten the bullet-bill and ordered three official pro controllers - one off eBay, two elsewhere - for the total sum of just over £108... it'll be worth it for when Mario Kart 8 arrives though and then Super Smash Bros later in the year. : peace: I've just got to keep telling myself that, it was an investment as I hopefully now won't be buying another controller... ever, or for at least a good few years. And those fake pro controllers will be shipped straight back to the seller just as soon as they supply me with the shipping address, probably after the Bank Holiday.

Ah MSN... those were the days, 'dat alert sound effect. Audio I've added you on my Wii U, brah.

    Mario Kart 8

Ah fair enough, I didn't think it was but was just making sure. : peace: In any case, I know it's not the 'proper thread' but I've added you on my Wii U. Anyone else who wants to add me/me to add them let me know and we'll have some games on MK8 when it's finally out. I can't believe it's less than 5 days away now!

    Mario Kart 8

I'm confused - if that was aimed at me - but ok. I was simply stating that Mario Kart 8 will still surely be brilliant with or without full voice chat, even though we won't get it at launch there is still the possibility of it being patched in but I do agree that Nintendo are woefully behind the times in some respects and it is indeed quite baffling. Surely it would have been logical for them to at least let us have the option of voice chat during gameplay for 'Friends only' games at the very least, I mean where's the harm in that?
