  1. I'm very sorry for your loss Iun. I know what it's like to lose your grandparents, it never really gets any easier, you just try to remember the good times and hold onto those memories for as long as is humanly possible.
  2. I think it was Pikachu and Yoshi who bestowed the gift of 1 Rupee to me today, all the rest of the Amiibo I scanned - Kirby, Peach and Mario - gave me some decent materials though so it's all good.
  3. Done and done! I think you're right, this must have been what happened, I think this is another reason why it's best not to reply to spammers and simply just hit the 'report post' button instead. :p Alls well that ends well though hopefully. : peace:
  4. Hmm @Shorty I've had a rather odd report from @Wii regarding him being unable to access N-Europe... at all, from any of his devices, apparently he hasn't been able to get on for a couple of days now, only just switched on my Wii U today and he has messaged me saying that he still can't get on so I said I'd ask about it anyway. : peace: It's most puzzling as to my knowledge he isn't banned... but the symptoms he is describing seem to point to him being IP blocked which I think is possible but I know we only do that in extreme cases I thought. Is it possible for it to happen by accident or to be caused by something else perhaps? If you need me to get any info from him to pass on then I can but I thought it worth mentioning as I'm unsure what kind of issue it is exactly as this could be affecting other members potentially as well but for now it seems to be just Wii so I'm investigating on his behalf being that he can't get onto N-Europe at the moment.
  5. Nicely done @VsPhoenix : peace: that was rather lucky I think, good to see you got them for a fair price too... at Game no less!?! Really surprised as I thought they would be hiking up the price of them the moment they put them on the shelves. This makes me even more hyped for the second wave now, so thanks for sharing a pic of them with us.
  6. Some figures in the next waves are already sold out on Nintendo store... this is for pre-orders! Just saying... get in there quick if you're going to be getting them all. : peace: Little Mac King Dedede Meta Knight Shulk All Sold Out status.
  7. My brother just came back from his travels in London and he got an Eon ticket on the train on the way up! So we street-passed today - first time its occurred in this household oddly enough - and I too am now the proud owner of an Eon ticket as well thanks to my bro. Now I've just got to get far enough in the game to use it... only got three gym badges and just over ten hours on the clock... time to play the heck out of Alpha Sapphire! : peace:
  8. Strangely enough I decided to take the Spinner for a... spin last night as well, colour me impressed! You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse I couldn't resist having another cheeky go on it this morning too after scanning my Amiibo in. Amiibo makes it all worthwhile. Incidentally to anyone who has other Amiibo but not Link and a copy of Hyrule Warriors try scanning them as I ended up getting a Spinner weapon from Yoshi the other day, though perhaps you still need Link in the first place to 'unlock' it initially but just something I noticed. : peace:
  9. Wow... I was going to get this on PS3 just as soon as I see it for around £15 or less on disc but now that it's coming to PS4 I suppose this means the likelihood of it coming to Plus is possible? Actually no... it will be less likely now I suppose because if they did that then not many people would want the PS4 version if they had access to both machines and/or a Vita is cross-buy is a consideration too. Hmm think I'll wait and see as I would love to own it in physical form if possible but I have a large backlog of RPG's as it is.
  10. No worries, you're welcome. I've just pre-ordered more on the store as I've noticed that there are now other Amiibo up there now including third party ones - MegaMan is up there! - so I've just added all of them to my basket and checked out, my wallet is not going to get much of a break in 2015. By the way what are you doing with all the packaging to yours? I've become adept at cutting the plastic on the underside so I can slide the figures out without too much damage to the card and I'm then sticking it back down with a small bit of low-tack sellotape before neatly storing them on top of my other boxes; I've even taped a few of them together lightly to make it a bit easier though I'm starting to run out of room already... Let's face it I really didn't have the space for all of these before I started collecting them but oh well. There's no stopping my amiibo addiction now! (we'll all have to start having AA - Amiiboholics Anonamous - meetings at this rate)
  11. Here's all the info you need... ShopTo - BIG Jiffy bag, offers moderate protection, creased cardboard likely, most reached me unscathed though. 6/10 ('free' large jiffy bag with each figure though) Tesco Direct - Moderately sized box with a reasonable amount of packaging though you need to remember that some of the stock might have been hanging around in a warehouse for a bit so possible scuffed packaging but not much. 8/10 Nintendo Store - Precisely gauged box size, expertly packed figures with bubble packing (but not wrap) and all that, they know how many figures will fit in each box and don't try to 'overfill' so they get to you in really good condition. 9/10 I can't comment on Amazon because I don't really use them mainly because I don't trust them, especially seeing as they didn't fulfil all of those GC adaptor pre-orders which I thought was disgraceful, a company should know how many of the item they are getting in stock (roughly) so that the pre-order option automatically cuts off when the initial allocation reaches zero or at least let people know that they will be in the next wave if there even is to be one in the case of the adaptor. Naturally I've pre-ordered wave 2 with the Nintendo Store because it makes sense also around Christmas time everything goes to hell so if you go with one of the latter two options then at least they will arrive by van but it all depends on stock levels of course. Anyway, hope this helps! : peace:
  12. I was just kidding, I like the Peach Amiibo, she's awesome. She has a decent amount of detail too, plus she even won a few of the 'all amiibo 8 player smash' matches I had on last night in the background while catching up on Pokémon. :awesome:
  13. I've finally finished my current Amiibo collection. Behold! Yes @Hero\-of\-Time ages 25-35+ definitely seems to be the emerging demographic for these glorious pieces of plastic. Anyway sod it, I enjoy collecting them! : peace:
  14. While I too would adore an Advance Wars 3D I'm more than happy that Codename: S.T.E.A.M is on the way as it looks fresh, fun and amazing in every way. Besides there is still plenty of time for another iteration of Advance Wars to come out, in the meantime they can release all of the other titles, including the DS games on the Virtual Console to get the IP out there a bit more ready for a full-scale attack on our consoles at around this time next year; it will happen. Meanwhile... let's add some S.T.E.A.M to the hype-train for this stunning original title which deserves more praise than it's currently receiving. : peace:
  15. That would actually be a fantastic idea because with the best will in the world I can recall buying a lot of these games which rely on user generated content - I'm looking at you Little Big Planet - and then I often don't end up really making anything worthy of note yet playing other people's creations is always fun. Let's say if the whole game would be £29.99 then they could segment it into the 'Mario Maker' part while the playable section could be labelled as 'Mario Player' within the software so there could be the 'player' section sold for a much cheaper £11.99 or similar price with the option to upgrade to the full version later - all digitally of course - or Nintendo could give out free codes with the full version which would give free access to a trial version like how they did with Tamadochi Life which could encourage people to at least have a go at it. : peace:
  16. Yep, the only 'New' hand held console Europe will be getting next year is the 'New! 3DS/XL' which I can't wait for. Anyway, Zelda looks stunning, give it time, that is all.
  17. I'm not even watching the trailer with the stupid amount of chatter going on in the background, totally kills it, will watch when it's up as a proper direct trailer or something - I know the background noise is due to the nature of where it was unveiled etc - in any case it doesn't matter; overlooked by many it may be but I won't be one of those people as I've had this pre-ordered since it was announced so I'm already sold on it.
  18. Well my GC controller finally arrived from ShopTo. I've taken it out the box to tes the buttons etc, it's exactly the same build quality as the original pads - which is what I was expecting - the trouble is now I'm not sure whether to use it or not, as its rare now it's potentially a collector's item. We shall see, in any case the pads are very good and I hope Nintendo manage to make a load more of them soon providing they are of the same quality. : peace:
  19. My copy arrived today, sadly the outer box was a bit misshapen - no big deal - and the plastic on the actual game box was crumpled - it was sealed up that way - but nothing a quick case swap can't sort. The pin badge is the highlight of the package so far, pretty good for a freebie as the game was only £20 so really good value for money. Anyway all of this is immaterial as I must finish Kingdom Hearts HD first I got a little way into it but it was one of the many save losses suffered from my PS3 slim which died on me just over a year ago now. But still at least it's there for when I get around to playing it. : peace:
  20. ...of a Birthday Cake! (but you all knew that already) Anyway I just wanted to wish a... Happy Birthday! To our very own Shorty... ...just because! [/OnePieceReference] I hope you're having an awesome day. : peace:
  21. ShopTo have finally shipped my game plus GC controller bundle, they must have only recently got them in stock as it's the only reason for such a delay, they were still happy to take payment for it about four days or so ago though. But anyway yeah, just glad its shipped.
  22. Fair enough then, I'll have a serious look into it in the new year, what's the maximum size hard drive you can format for a PS4 in any case? I was thinking of going with at least 2TB to make it worthwhile. Possibly more depending on how many games get announced at this conference.
  23. If a load of new games/trailers get shown then that'll be all well and good but, isn't anyone else running out of space to store all of these installed games? Personally if Sony announced an official hard drive with a capacity of say... 3TB? At a reasonable price that runs off the power of the machine and sits neatly alongside it then I'd be more than happy to buy one because I'm going to need a lot more space than the 72GB I have left, I'm sure I'm not the only one? Yes I know you can upgrade it internally and it's supposed to be easy etc but it would be nice to have options no? : peace: Otherwise I think I'm just going to go nuts and start deleting certain 'unplayed' games because I just quite simply won't have the space otherwise and this should not be, it was a complete oversight releasing the machine with just 500GB in the first place, aside from that I'm actually really happy with the machine so bring on the games!
  24. So I finally opened the three Amiibo figures I had in my possession last night and yes I used a small pair of scissors to cut through the bottom plastic part which is actually partially perforated so it's almost as if they expect you to open them this way perhaps not that it matters ultimately... Anyway I must say that they are pretty decent, well-made figures which have no obvious paint defects plus the poses are pretty nice, the stands aren't too bad either or the support poles. Hyrule Warriors - Got my spinner though I didn't feel like using it yet because with my other two figures I unlocked a super-powered Dominion Rod plus a six-slotted Mirror of Twilight for use with Midna who I couldn't wait to try out being that I'd only just installed the Twilight Princess DLC; I can safely say I'll be playing the game more now as it was the first time in around a month that I'd played it. Mario Kart 8 - I unlocked my Mario, Samus and Link costumes for my Mii, started racing through the first set of dlc tracks as Samus... then I messed it up at the end of the first race so I tried the Link costume out instead and still messed it up later in the GP as I came first but was aiming for three stars which I still haven't got on all of 150cc; but anyway the outfits are a nice addition. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - Once again I scanned in the figures, first up was Samus who I simply named 'Samus Aran' because I could while choosing the Fusion Suit (obviously) then there was Link who got named 'FierceLink' (Hnnnnnnnnggh!) Fierce Deity costume naturally (also Fierce Deity wouldn't fit in the char limit) and finally Mario who I picked the fire flower outfit for making him 'Fire Mario' I suck at names OK? Anyway I had a few cool fights including one where I had me playing as Gravity Suit Samus with 'Samus Aran' in the fusion suit (along with two other suited Samus') all up against Ripley... guess who took out the purple beast? Yep the one FP in the game... or at least it came very close to doing so, was nice to see how they learn and level up, a few other games were had and I must say it's a feature I can see myself using a lot in multiplayer. : peace: So all in all pretty good, three more arrived today - D.K, Fox and Pikachu - so I will unseal those later and test them out this evening after I've finished writing up a few game reviews, overall it was a pretty positive initial experience with the figures and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
  25. I managed to secure a 'BELKIN 4 PORT USB HUB F5U024UKLI' for £6.49 this very one in fact... Hopefully that'll do the job! Also thanks, it's nice to know what that long number means now, I had a rough idea but I wasn't entirely sure though I do like the 'reverse leaderboard' concept even if I'll never take it that seriously, it's still good to be informed on what it represents. : peace:
