But even after unlinking your NNID from the Wii U console, you can't then just link it to a new Wii U in the future, can you? Plus even when it's unlinked, once it's deleted from that Wii U console, doesn't it cease to exist or something similar? Now even I'm confused...
-
As in trasnferring stuff from the Wii U back to the Wii? Not as far as I'm aware... you can transfer stuff from Wii to Wii U once but that's about it. The whole situation is a mess, I know it sounds daft but if you don't want to lose anything, then your only option is to keep your Wii U.
-
As far as I know, you lose everything unless you have a My Nintendo account linked to a NNID but even then it's not clear. Essentially though, if you sell your Wii or Wii U, don't expect to have access to all of the games you bought at this point. It's a really terrible system, worst of all apparently Nintendo can do some kind of transfer on their end which they will only perform in dire circumstances which is hardly ideal.

I always took the Europe in N-E to be a reflection of the way in which games have been released in different territories for years... USA - Japan - Europe (Including the U.K) and Australia so I would have thought that we won't have to change the site name at least. Besides, we have an excellent community here on the forums which I hope isn't suddenly going to change as a result of this vote. My feelings on the matter is that whichever way the vote happened to go, it wouldn't change how I feel about the site and the members of our forum; personally I love this site along with everyone here who makes the place what it is. Nothing political or otherwise will change this and I just hope that this outcome will turn out to be a positive one for everyone in time.

Happy Birthday @Animal!

It doesn't come with the game code sadly. You would think at this point, Nintendo would consider selling the game with the fit meter for £14.99 or less... I mean the original price was £19.99 for the fit meter which at the launch of the game got you it for free when you connected the fit meter during the trial period, it was a really good deal! Now though... the device isn't much good without the software plus the Wii U could well be in its final year so it would almost be a gesture of good will for Nintendo to make the software for Wii Fit U cheap surely?

That's terrible Shorty. As bob said, perhaps asking your place of work for some time off so you could visit him would be a good idea? In any case, I wish your dad well and if you need to talk about it then we're always here for you.

The joke is, no Pokémon amiibo support! It's probably just as well though, the Samus amiibo figures are the only ones which would really fit in with the tone of the game anyway... Captain Falcon could work, Mega Man and possibly R.O.B those are the ones I wouldn't mind seeing but I'm happy with just Samus. : peace: This game looks like it's shaping up pretty well, like a multiplayer co-op version of Metroid Prime Hunters except with more scope in the campaign mode, my only gripe is that I would have liked there to have been a multiplayer deathmatch mode as well being that we won't be getting that with the Wii U VC version of MPH when that comes out; it was actually pretty fun in a strange way... but then, it wouldn't work in exactly the same way so probably best this sticks to co-op and Blast Ball I suppose.

... Looks like I'll be embracing my fabulous fashion side for that review then. Oh well, at least it's another Nintendo DS title for the Virtual Console. : peace: Wait... is this the actual original DS title or the 3DS release?
-
A decent release while we may have the 3DS version as well, sometimes there's nothing quite like playing the original. Plus at least this version will have the Zora swimming untampered with.

Sad news indeed. R.I.P. Anton Yelchin

It's hardly surprising though, isn't Google cardboard a viewer which you slot a Smartphone into, then the image is split into two displays? But essentially you're putting a smartphone a lot closer to your eyes than you would normally, definitely not a good idea for long periods of time I would have thought. Does it really work well enough though?
-
Oh I understand that, I was thinking more of the fact that the game looks terrible so why would you want to buy an expensive peripheral for it?
-
Yeah I got that very same e-mail, took one look at the accessory and the price... There's no way this is going to take off in any meaningful way surely? Even if I had a smartphone, I doubt I'd even bother with it. I'm guessing the target market must be completely different with this one, but really though... what exactly is the target market for this?

An interview from E3 2016 I just stumbled across on You Tube... It gives some insight into the "speech" used in the game. Plus there's some excellent back and forth between Grant Kirkhope and Steve Mayles.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
S.C.G replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
In a way though, won't the story be told by various goings on within the world? So even if we don't get lots of cutscenes or tonnes of text, we'll still feel as if the story is evolving as we play, at least that's my hope as so far we have only seen one NPC character but just from the design to me that seemed to tell quite a lot without explicitly giving anything away. Though I feel you're right about the comparisons to Xenoblade Chronicles X in loose structural terms, except with Zelda this is a game I can't wait to get stuck into and explore and it won't even be out until next year, whereas with Xenoblade... it has been on my shelf since launch and I've barely scratched the surface with it. For a game with an open-world structure it has to really captivate me from the start if I'm to devote many hours to it - Xenoblade may yet click with me one day - I have such a good feeling about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild just from what we've seen; I can only hope that Nintendo really takes all the time they need to ensure that it doesn't follow the same fate as a lot of Open World games, releasing early complete with game-breaking bugs for player to spend 30 hours plus playing, losing their data, telling the developers, then it getting patched and having to start all over again... so please Nintendo, take all the time you need... within reason. I have more faith than that in them though, this is Nintendo EPD afterall. : peace: -

Worst... week... ever! I must have come next to last in every race. :p Oh well, it's E3 week so I can't really stay down about it, especially after the last couple of days! Did you all feel the Zelda hype on Hyrule Circuit?
-
I bought it when it was around full price not so long ago, which even then was £4.80 or something like that... I think it's 50% off... as I was on the eShop earlier and I want to say that it was less than £2.50? Well worth it in my view, I plan to play the original soon now in anticipation for the new game.

Nothing has convinced me that I need a PSVR unit yet or any VR headset for that matter, all of the demo's shown are interesting but in the same way that they would still be interesting if they were available as first-person demonstrations using the TV screen and move controllers only. I understand the dream of VR being around for so long and now it's finally being realised but at the same time I'm happy with HD gaming on my TV and 3D gaming on a handheld device. A real question here though... How many PSVR games will be genuinely exclusive? I think most of the main PS4 exclusives will be games playable in their more standardised format with VR also available as an option. I can't see a future where PSVR true exclusive titles will outnumber more traditional TV-based gaming, at least not yet anyway. Still, I'll be following the progress of VR and will still be interested to hear how people feel about it after using the devices for days/weeks/months to see how it pans out.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
S.C.G replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Probably no chance. Though that's not to say that the thought didn't cross my mind several times while watching others play it on the Nintendo Treehouse Live stream. I would love for it to happen though as if we did get any kind of demo for a main Zelda title that would be pretty amazing as it has previously only happened once to my knowledge, that was on the Zelda Collector's Edition disc which came with the Nintendo Gamecube Mario Kart Double Dash pak; you had Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, a video of other games plus a brief Zelda history and a timed demo of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Although that was a completely different situation, things have moved on since then, there is also the side of the discussion that it would show Nintendo has moved on if they provided us with a downloadable demo but I know it's not as simple as that because these days even if it is just 2% of the game and if it's timed... I could see certain members of the Nintendo community data-mining it which may lead to spoilers so being that it's looking like we won't receive a demo, I can understand why. But still, what if? I can just imagine spending a fair few hours in such a demo if it were to happen. -
Ah yeah, didn't see this... I was absorbed in trying out the other hunts solo, only just finished playing. Such an excellent demo, will likely play it more online tomorrow though.
