Well it was sent to die then. Although they make much more money, so they might have a point. Meh.

One week of sales for a low budget game, how can it be said if it bombed or not? Not that it will sell millions though. Anyway, is the game full price?

I don't have enough clothes for all of it I think lol

Most games that are considered excellent or killer apps on other consoles I don't find that excellent. Hardly any classics for me that's for sure. Most of them are more of the same and overrated. I hate this mentality that games need to be "AAA" and have high review scores to be worth it. It's up to taste if a console has more good games or not, but then we always have people going "lol you listed stupid games because x has waggle, y is casual, z sucks, b has better online on 360, c has bad graphics and I prefer w, therefore those games are objectively bad". I don't care if a game has an average of 9+ reviews, high production values or is a big brand, if I enjoy it it's already good, if I really really enjoy it, it's excellent. Why should I care (or even know for that matter) what games will be remembered? A lot of games are remembered because they're hugely marketed and are basically a big brand.

Seriously, watch it, it's not about knowing what's gonna happen or not. If it was I couldn't have watched them dozens and dozens and dozens of times. Watch them, it's your Christmas present to yourself. Impressive is precisely the word I would choose if I asked me to describe LOTR in one word :P
-
I have no idea what the hell you're saying, but he's young, LOTR came out in his life span, the others did not. Or if they did he was too young. It's still wrong and not seeing what probably are the best movies of the genre (at least I can't think of a better one, such gargantuan productions, rivaled only by SW and maybe Indiana Jones is not excusable.

Happy Birthday guys!

To be honest most replies were the usually ridiculous and also fanboyish replies of "those games suck, the ones on console Y are much better, what a ridiculous list". He's the only one who can't let go :P And thanks God we have mods that like stiring up even more trouble and the only users who are reprimanded or warned are the ones who like Wii. Funny. But let's not taint this beautiful thread of love.

They do, I really love them <3

Now now, he's young, it's kinda normal... Except for LOTR... Damn it Maase go watch them now.

Thank you, you actually made me chuckle in real life. Dom still haven't started P4, too many games to finish, but it does look amazing You got the artbook and OST?

It's called balancing things out. OW what you're saying is exactly the kind of thing I hate. Something that doesn't have a message is meaningless and pointless? I'm sorry but that's an enormous pile of BS. Really big. Huge. Honestly and since we're friends I feel free to say this, it's elitist crap. What I'm saying is that it's an unconscious thing a lot of people do. I was kinda kidding when saying you thought so, but since you're oversimplifying and don't understand the story, finding it shit doesn't mean much to me. Still I'm just kidding, I'm not saying that's what you do, it is something that happens a lot too. And so does the reverse. Why the hell are you t alking about Chewbacca and Endor, he has absolutely nothing to do with it. Except for hair.

The co op RL alone made it worth it. And the flying sections were amazing, like you said. The rest? Ugh.

I can't see how Tolkien wasn't talented as an artist, I mean, the things you described alone make him a talented artist. And I resent that books or anything else for that matter need to have a lot of deep messages. I really hate that in fact, a story needs to do what it sets out to do, it doesn't fail because of a lack of message. Even though Lotr has some messages, parallelism with religion, industrialism, maybe nothing too deep or that jumps out, but it wasn't meant to. Considering it pioneered so much, it's so well written, so detailed and the world is so alive, I can only have respect for an author that does something like this and doesn't need to go the way of a story filled with symbolisms and messages all over the place. Specially when lots of authors seems to use a story as an excuse to convey a message and it becomes too aparent when you just feel like you're not reading a story at all, you're hearing the author's "propaganda". Which is awesome sometimes, but not by any means mandatory. What I mean is if you're looking for message in a book, OK this or that is not for you, but can it fall short in a more objective manner (if that is even possible) because of it? No. That and there's the people who really like to bash on things that are uber famous. Which I know isnt the case here. Well, maybe EEVIL. Maybe. :P

Whoop PS3? No I don't remember saying that, whoopings aren't that easy to predict, but I always thought it would most likely have a good advantage over PS3. And I was right. I'm that awesome. Seriously now, it was always logical and I wasn't the only one saying it, of course different people see things differently, considering we were still in the PS2 power brand era, many people thought that would still carry their weight. Others were raving loon PS fanboys and there were a lot of those. Analysts don't count for shit, those guys have single digit IQs. The only core game they were producing and stopped doing so was HAMMER, at least as far as we know, so that point is moot. They knew casual was the next big thing, the DS proved that. Was it 100% sure it would be a success? No, it was a very big risk. Was it more likely than at the very least PS3? Never had a doubt in my mind. Did they want to develop for the Wii? Well they were developing for the Wii that alone answers it. And the thing is, they were obviously swooned by PS3s graphical prowess and as the graphical beasts they are, they normally went in that direction. And Sony moneyhats as you mentioned helped. They no doubt lost money. There's a reason why they were developing for Wii now. And this is the big problem right here, most devs were rushed to the HD consoles thinking it was a gold mine, so they ignored the huge prices on developments, middleware, SDKs, huge development times and many of those couldn't handle it and are now looking around and going "I'm in deep shit." Some have the money to keep going and develop where they want and reprioritize, ie the old "pants down story", but a lot of them don't. Companies have been shutting down regularly this isn't new, but with the crisis right now, things won't be easy. Don't worry, people like to look down on people who like the Wii :P Iun I honestly don't know about Rebel Strike III sales, but ground missions aside, it was still freaking awesome... problem was it had a lot of ground missions. RLII sold a lot though so I still like to think they have it in them to make good flying games. Even if they didn't they were the ones that could really show 3rd parties can push Wii's hardware. And I mean really push it, not just like The Conduit (which already does a great job).

Yeah the analysts which are usually spouting bs like "Nintendoomed" since N64. Cmon I mean, Sony was already down financially, pre-ps3 marketing was a disaster, poor line up, ridiculous price, Blu Ray was still a risk, sixaxis was lacking, 360 already a year out, DS whopping PSP and Wii looking to go the way of the DS. It was always very probable that PS3 wouldn't go down well and it wasn't just me or delusional fanboys (which you no doubt think I am :P) thinking that. The decision was a mistake, just because they thought it was good idea, it went bad, thus it was a mistake.

How low your opinion of me must be if you think that was sarcasm.

Yeah Nintendo really could use more western teams.

Dude, everyone got that ages go. That's freaking obvious and exactly the point why he couldn't perfect it. And you're exagerating so much about Naruto it kinda shows you're taking it a bit too much to heart lol

Braaaaaawl All of it, even though I played the jap and usa version before, every single moment of it was just pure awesome. Chrono Trigger DS Fuck yeah. Don't care if it's a port. Just... fuck yeah. Mirror's Edge Now, I haven't finished it yet, but so far so awesome. Really fun, really original, it's precision first person platform done right (at least so far). The first 360/PS3 game that had me really interested and seemed conceptually ambitious (not talking about XBLA/PSN). Honestly it's kinda hard to say, I was still playing lots of 2007 games in 08 like the best of all, Mario Galaxy, and lots of great games came out. But those are noteworthy.

Even saw them advertising the Wii version as they did the other ones? In fact it's like they didn't even know it exists. With no advertising or marketing push how can they expect games to sell?
-
I searched for him but he wasn't anywhere. Hmm that's true didn't think about that. Not that big a deal though.
