Yeah just buy it @Wii! It'll still be a fantastic game! A negative is no voice chat yeah, but a huge positive that far outweighs that is it hopefully encourages more new IP from Nintendo. Otherwise the next new idea they come up with actually will have Mario put into it.

Love how he just pokes at the screen

Batman: Arkham Asylum & City Remastered
Retro_Link replied to Happenstance's topic in Other Consoles
Nintendo just ported Xenoblade to 3DS to allow new gamers to experience it, and in the run up to Xenoblade Chronicles X. That came out a couple of years ago and is actually getting a downgrade with this re-release. Hyped to have an HD Arkham Trilogy, having not played them. -
Has Act 1 come to consoles?

Just Fludd as a 10 sec weapon would be pretty great!

Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?

Again you're ignoring the point/laughing it off just a suitable amount to be able to continue this blinkered view another time down the road. -
GameTrailers - 9.6 Nice!
-
Gametrailers have a 2 hour twitch stream up of this. It looks so boring. There are just hardly ever any mingames. And the ones I did see then get were awful. They were saying it's probably the worst Mario Party yet, a lot of the time your just a passive player doing nothing, and the minigames/board play is too focused on luck. I didn't realise it swapped developers with Mario Party 9 and that they are responsible for the car.

I can only assume they think having a large real time map on the gamepad is reason enough not to include chat. But I do wonder how you decide who will have which jobs, such as the person who may focus on firing at the opposition, who will focus on painting over paint, who will focus on painting all the little corners/edges/missed areas etc... And everyone won't just all run to do the same thing/think someone else is doing it. Need to hear more about the Single Player, loving what I see, just hope it's 10+ hours and with replayability. There looks to be collectables which is great. Hopefully it doesn't just unlock multiplayer stuff.

Likewise couldn't Skylanders or Disney Infinity claim exactly the same thing. As they do things Amiibo/one another don't do.
-
Maybe because its 2015, and it's omission from an online multiplayer, by todays standards, is frankly a bit ridiculous.
-
@Ronnie I really don't see how you can offer any great opinion on voice chat, have you used it? and if you have, across multiple games to form an understanding of how it can work? I'm not an online gamer and haven't used it, so I can't really contribute to the discussion or the need for/necessity of voice chat.

Batman: Arkham Asylum & City Remastered
Retro_Link replied to Happenstance's topic in Other Consoles
Ahhh, yes please!! I haven't played this series yet despite having Arkham Asylum on my PS3 waiting to play. But I'd buy it again along with Arkham City on PS4 when I get one! Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect Trilogy, next please. -
Gotta love Bulbapedia.

Technically I'm not sure you could say they beat them, which is why I was quite careful wording it, because come the end of the generation the other two consoles had matched Wii sales I think, because there was such a fall off from that console. --- IGN had a great conversation about how Nintebdo can use the likes of Amiibo and Mobile mini games to bring in extra revenue streams that will keep them able to keep doing what they're doing/experimenting in the console market, as well as keep them relevant for the years to come.
-
Yeah tbf Nintendo did 'beat' Sony and Microsoft with the Wii, it just wasn't sustainable. Nintendo would say they weren't and aren't in competition with them, but for those 2-3 years it must have felt pretty amazing inside Nintendo.
-
By 'we', you mean just @Wii. I don't think anyone wants them to emulate Sony and Microsoft, but there's certainly a lot of lessons they could learn from their consoles. I'd just like them to make better use of their franchises, and incorporate features into them that have been considered industry standard for a number of years now.

That Captain Toad amiibo is epic.

Got a 4.5 from Gametrailers! And that's out of 10 :p

Considering Activision did come to Nintendo with Skylanders it does make you wonder why it took Nintendo so long, and why when it did come they didn't have this 'big game' for the figures. Their integration is just about ok, considering you could just collect them as figures anyway, but you could say the same about the Infinity figures. And the Smash designs were a little unthought out with the plastic supports in weird colours. Yes they're in Smash poses, but still.
