Oh man, Micro Machines was the shit back in the dude. Anyone have Turbo Tournament '96? Where you had two extra controller ports on top of the cartridge? Genius. Actually, I'd love a Micro Machines game for either the Wii or DS right now. I'd snap it up.

Hugglesaurus is a great word. Also, Hug Attacks, Cuggles (which are a mixture of...cuddles and hugs/huggles). It's an excuse to grope, basically, and be close to those amazing creations called breeeasts. And heeeey, screw you sucker! I'm not too bad at the guitar thing, and I think I'm getting better at the applying/writing personal statements stuff. I'm not all that great at bigging myself up though, which is what you're meant to do in these sorts of things.

I think I've definitely been in this role at various points in my life, although I'm not sure if I'm in it right now or not. Generally, I think people do tell me a lot of stuff, quite a bit of stuff that we only keep to ourselves, so it must mean that they feel safe talking to me or something. It's never a bad thing, to have that sort of connection. It's part of being a good friend I think, being a good listener. Sometimes people never expect you to say anything back, or anything that will instantly solve their problems, but just being there can help I think.

Come on guys, peace and love. Group hugglesaurus. My day has been ok. I sent an application off to a school a few days ago, and they replied back saying Thank You and have given me loads of information about the place. Pictures, information about what they stand for, etc. It's really quite nice and it shows that they care. Going to ring them up on Monday to ask for a look around the school. I can definitely see myself fitting in well there, and it would be nice to work at a place that actually cares. Spent the majority of the day playing guitar, which I've done a lot lately to pass the time. Guitar and applying for jobs, pleasure and excruciating paaaaain.

True, it wasn't advertised as a main feature, and I really think it was placed there to give gamers more options, mainly for the sake of it. It reminds me of the ability to play Goldeneye on the N64 with many different control schemes, or the numerous control options in Brawl. They're there for people to have access to playing it in different ways...even if some of the modes will never be used by probably anyone!

The question is why would you want to? The Wii controls were perfect. Really can't imagine going back to a GC controller to play RE4 now.

OOOOOOOOH YEEEEEAH! Hurricanes owns/owned. The fact that it has traveled to 74 different countries is pretty amazing in itself, though. Just imagine if it had been something really, really threatening, like the Rage Virus (not saying that Swine Flu isn't serious...I don't know enough about it to comment on that), but it's amazing how far and fast these things can travel. I just thought that was worth saying. Ok, you got me, I really only posted to quote The Villan.

Shigeru Miyamoto Interview: No Sword for Link
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Man, you used to be cool. Nah, that scene with Navi is pretty awesome, but there were so many bits with Midna...her cheeky face. With both characters, it did feel as if you were going on a huge journey, and had come a long way with both. I don't really see how Midna was "flimsy", though. -
Flameboy is one of my favourites. If we were in a film together, he would be Robin to my Batman...or maybe Alfred. Or Commissioner Gordan, haha. Happy Birthday, sucker. Enjoy eet. Hope it's been a good one.

Shigeru Miyamoto Interview: No Sword for Link
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Midna rocked! I thought it would be hard for Link to ever have another companion after Navi, but Midna just rocked. Tatl was pretty cool, but...Midnaaaaaaaa. You actually cared about her, and like Dannyboy/Gary Neville says, you felt saddened by certain events in the game where Midna was in danger. I don't particularly mind if Link does take a bit of a backseat, but only if the main character is created in such a way in that every scene with him/her is scene-stealing. Saying that, Midna lit up the game, and gave it a soul. I really can't imagine going through the same game without her. -
That's pretty much it. It'll be harder for The Conduit as it's a completely new game, there's no brand for people to associate with, except for the fact that it's on the Wii. Also, yeah, marketing will help. However, it's not that simple. There's marketing, and there's marketing correctly. You can have numerous ads in gaming publications, but unless it's done right, it may as well be filler.

I've always found Tarantino to be very, very hit and miss. I absolutely hated and loathed his script for True Romance, but you have to look at some of the other things that he has done and credit him for that. My old housemate was a big geek for Tarantino, and just really went over the top for his love for him. I remember the first time we watched Kill Bill together...I felt a bit dirty, it was almost like watching porn with him, for him.

That's one way to do it, I guess. I think one thing that Sega and Nintendo need to do is just emphasise how much this really is aimed at the "core/hardcore" gamer. Whether that's putting adverts in game boxes, putting adverts in videogame publications, or replaced the banner for every website to kingdom come with an advert for this. It's going to sound quite stereotypical of gamers, but this really is one of those games where you need to show adverts with tons of explosions, aimed directly at the male gamer. It needs to be advertised as the next big shooter to hit a Nintendo console. For many of us, it is exactly that. The main question is whether or not this game can "secure" those sales. For N-Europe and other Nintendo focused websites, there needs to be hype and anticipation drummed up on both the forums and the websites. Links to where you can buy this game from, countdown timers, previews, articles focused around this. If gamers feel like they're going to miss out by not picking this up, they'll buy it in a heartbeat.

This is really, really down to the fans to make sure that they make themselves heard. Seriously, there really is no better time for people to now show how much they want this game. There are plenty of Nintendo fans out there, and I'm sure they'll be salivating at the sight of this. I look forward to playing you all online.

Yeah, it's really something that you do as a day-to-day thing. I'd wake up some days and go sit on the wall outside my house, leveling up in the sunshine...when I was a young one. Maybe if Nintendo were being truely ambitious they could devise a game that linked up a home console version and handheld version. Not talking on the lines of Pokemon stadium here. But, having the ability to start a main-quest on the home console, but having the option to transfer the characters onto the handheld and carry on that quest wherever you go. So, having that one big World Map that is accessible on both the handheld and home console. The downsides: The advantage of creating a game on a system is that you take advantage of that system. You would be limited in doing that with this, since you'd have to create something with the other system in mind, too.

Pokemon is very pick up and play, and there's a very strong social aspect there. I remember in school we used to have a Pokemon group where we played and traded at lunchtimes. That just couldn't be replicated on a home console. The closest thing Nintendo could do is just go all out with the online functions of the Wii, and create some kind of insanely huge lobby system where you meet up with others and trade that way. Either that, or some kind of "town". It's much better suited to the handhelds, though. Not just graphically, but for some reason I really couldn't imagine sitting infront of the tv and leveling up Pokemon for hours. It's not the same.

Ok, nice one dude. I might try and get the first game and see how I feel about that.
-
Are the Secret Files games actually really good then? I've seen the first game pretty much everytime I've walked into town, but I've never heard it being touted on here much.

I didn't expect to see this today, nor did I really expect him to leave, especially after that "famous" Sky Sports News Interview with himself where he said he would stay. After all the controversy last season, it seemed that he had expressed his desire to leave quite a few times, and I'm glad that the situation has been resolved one way or the way, especially early on in the Summer. For one thing, it means that we have a good amount of time to line up a replacement, if we decide to do that. It has reached the stage where now the players are more talked about than the club. This just reminds me of the fuss that surrounded David Beckham when he decided to leave for Madrid. No matter how good the player is, they are not Manchester United. A team shouldn't be defined by one player, and big players have come and gone over the years, but the team have just got on with it and did what we always do - play football. I'll be sad to see him leave, as he is a fantastic talent. Great player, and very complete. Only thing that I think he needs to work on is his attitude, which I think is one of the reasons why fans are so divided over him. We'll miss his goals next season, but we said the same thing when Van Nistelrooy was sent off to Madrid. It'll leave a gap there to be filled by someone else. In a way, it might be better for us as we'll now need to score goals from more areas of the field, which is something we do but need to do more. If I was Kaka, I would feel a bit miffed. "59 million for me, but 80 million for Ronaldo. Shows how much they think of me! :heh:"

My friend bought this and I recently tried it and loved it. There are some control issues here and there, but the way this game was slated is really something. Do reviewers just spend 5 minutes, waggle with huge overblown gestures, slate it, and do the same with the next Wii game? It's a shame that so many people have been put off by reviews. I'm definitely getting this, although my main priority is getting my teaching job sorted for next year. I don't feel like I could properly sit down and enjoy a game like this just yet when I have that on my mind. Ine wants to buy this for me, but I said she can only get it as a present for getting that job, haha. To anyone who is on the fence: Just buy it. Chances are you won't regret it. And, if you do...it's only a few quid.

I've got a choon in my head, and I'm going to dedicate eet to Dan of the Dare and Eeeeevil. Doo Doodoo Doo...Doodoo Doo Don't worryyy (doo DooDoo Doo..Doodoo...doo) Be happy! Today was pretty ok. I've been applying for more teaching jobs, which includes filling out hefty application forms and writing personal statements. Since last Monday, I've sent out about 5 forms, which is pretty ok. Gonna have another 2 to send off tomorrow hopefully. The thing is some of these closing dates aren't for another week or so, so it might be a while before I hear anything back. It makes me scared that I just won't hear anything. I also played Pro Evo 4 with my brother, for nearly 2 hours...which was a lot of fun. We haven't played a game together for ages, so it was quite nice. All of the games were pretty close, which means that I'm losing my touch as sometimes I used to annihilate him. And now, I'm sat in bed, drinking a glass of milk and talking to the female. This is how the pros do it.

Tonight's game was so strange. I've never seen a team so reluctant to attack. A flat back five, with a midfield of four infront of it, all playing behind the ball. It was never going to be an open game, but I think the majority of England players had a good game tonight. I was particularly impressed with both Glen Johnson and Ashley Cole, particularly with some of Johnson's balls into the box. The only player I was a bit iffy about was Theo Walcott, as he seemed to get to the by-line very often but sometimes didn't do anything with he ball. Maybe Theo Won't Cross would be a better name for him, heh. Saying that, he still had a pretty good game. I think the real winners tonight were the fans who managed to get to the game.

It was because I felt the full Brunt of the Nemanja. Haha, see what I did there?
