Today has been a good day. I worked in a Roman Catholic school yesterday, which was about 20 minutes from my house. Awesomes. Only worked there for the morning, and the kids kinda behaved like fools after breaktime, but it was ok on the whole. Today, I worked in the same school I was at last week. Arrived at the school, and was expecting to work with Year 6 kids for the morning. Then, the receptionist/secretary woman comes into the room, says that another teacher is ill all day, and asks if I could cover that class instead all day and they could get someone else to cover for the morning of the class I was meant to be covering. My reply was : "oooooooook." So, I did eet. Apparantly I had to watch out for about four or five kids in particular, but it was a piece of piss to be honest. Kids were pretty well behaved on the whole, we had some great fun with drama work and I think they liked having me as their teacher. I got pestered a few times over whether or not I would be covering them tomorrow, and when I said I didn't know, I got a chorus of "awwwwww, sadface." That's a nice feeling, haha. Walked to the train station, and there are two platforms: one with trains going to Cardiff, and one with trains going in the opposite direction. So, I waited on the platform for the Cardiff train, but it turned up on the wrong platform. I actually walked right past it, but was too knackered to realise it was there, because I didn't expect eet to be there. Two college lads missed it too, so we caught the next train together. Both were really nice, and the one was Latvian. Fucking awesome. When I arrived in Newportdon, I got a call of my agency lady. She said that the school were very impressed with me and that they want me to work there tomorrow. I'm teaching a Year 2 class, which I have never ever done before. They're so young... My agency person said that she wanted to test me to see how I'd do. If I teach Key Stage 1 tomorrow, it means that I have taught Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 at the age of 22. Fucking have that!

I've only just seen this thread, but I can see why anyone would be pissed off at this happening. Nicking somebody elses stuff is one thing, but then trying to pass it off as your own, that's a wee bit lame. Alas, the battle has been fought and won. I'm tempted to sign up and post "oh em gee, Arr Eee Zed! You stoled that video from me, then passed it off as your own, before this guy stole the video which you originally stole from me. You fucking stealer!" But, I think the moment has passed.

Happy Birthday, Odders. Hope today was a great one. Pikey!

Jesus fuck, that Dashboard song is horrific on the ears. The intro music sounded alright, and I think "hmm, never heard this before, sounds ok so far." Then, the words, I just didn't like them. It's definitely not for me. I can't say I'm a fan of Tristan at all either. The Magic Position is a personal favourite of mine by him, as it remembers me of a nice time I had in a club with a good friend. Tristan was ok, but I think I agree with Ganepark, I just didn't feel the energy. Still, out of the two, I prefer The Wolf. By quite some margin, I think.

Another great choon. I remember listening to that in my when I used to drive to sixth form. Excellent stuff.

Haha, the lyrics maaaake eet. Its quite a sexy song, imo. Sexy but also disturbing at the same time. Although, you'd probably set yourself up for some trouble if you posted that official video of it, haha. I like the quietness of hurt, and it is understated, as you say. But then, so is Ian Curtis's voice on Love will tear us apart. It's understated but also so powerful at the same time. It is such a shame that we will never ever get the chance to see Joy Division perform live, in the flesh.

It's not the first time that I've heard somebody get confused over who created "Hurt" first. To be honest, if anything, I think it's just a testament to how good a job Johnny Cash did with his version. The NIN version is good, but I think Cash's version is just in a whole different league. He was a God. I can see why you chose it, as it's a good song. I would've probably gone for Closer, as I prefer that. Like Joy Division, NIN has its own style. Industrial..type...sounding...thing. Its great, even if I can't define it.

Hahahahahahaha. Unless your head comes complete with a built-in CD Writer, I think you'll be fine.

At the one time, that one moment, you both had a copy each. So, it doesn't really matter if you delete it.

One of my best friends met Peter Hook in Brighton, randomly the one day. When she told me, I was so jealous. Definitely agree with you about their sound. You can spot it a mile off, it's their signature.

Whoa, that's a pretty good battle! Although, it has to be Joy Division. One of my entries, and I love that song. I do also like Hurt, but I much, much prefer Johnny Cash's version of it. Once I heard his version, it was a little bit harder to hear the original again. Good song, but it's one of those instances where I think the cover betters it. I go through phases every now and again where I just listen to Joy Divison over and over, for days on end. Great band, although I was a little unsure over whether to go for this song or Transmission. Both are amazing, but I think this has a slight edge to it. Great band, great song.

Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time - 22nd October 2009
Fierce_LiNk replied to Nicktendo's topic in General Chit Chat
I'd say that this is one thing that is worrying me. Particularly that last paragraph. You're never entirely sure if the money you put in is getting used in the right way. I think this kind of mis-management is one reason why people may be tempted to not vote for Labour. There are different problems that mean various things to different people. Like, Danny for instance, the war is one aspect that he is paying particular focus to. It seems that there are "holes" all over the place. As a member of the public, all you really want is a solution or some kind of re/assurance that things are getting done. With Gordon Brown, I just don't think that people have a lot of confidence in the man to do that. Saying that, I also don't trust Cameron. Not entirely sure why, but just a feeling, heh. -
It's lovely. Although, with a holiday, you can never truly find out what it is like to live there. I found it quite expensive to live there as a student, but it was a place where I felt happy, so it was worth it. Ideally, it would be a place I would love to go back to once I've got some kind of job security under my belt. I don't think I showed Ine enough of Brighton, mainly because when she came the first time, it was Christmas and freezing. Then, the second time, we were both illll. If I had more time, I would've loved to have shown her more of the stuff that I love there. So, she could see what I liked it.

Nick Griffin to appear on Question Time - 22nd October 2009

That link Bluestar posted was pretty good. It speaks a lot of sense. I'm quite interested in seeing exactly what happens and how Nick Griffin handles the pressure. He loves being in the spotlight, and all eyes will be on him. If he stirs up a fuss, I don't think he'll be too sad about that. It all really depends on the issues that get discussed, and the opposition who face him. I've got a feeling it'll be a good watch. -
I'd agree with that, I wouldn't mind paying more for imported or rarer stuff. There's a wow factor with that. But God, it's a bit crap with some of the prices for CDs. I've only ever bought two things off play.com - Killer 7 and Oasis: Familiar to Millions on DVD. Both were good, price wise. I may have to look into getting CDs from there. Just did a quick search, and the prices are not too bad at all. Just noticed that you have the option to download the albums, which shows you just how long I haven't been to that site, haha. I suck. But, why are a lot of the download prices higher than purchasing the CD? Just noticed that Foo Fighters - There is nothing left to lose is £6.99 with free delivery, yet is £7.25 when you download it. Is there a reason for that?
-
How much do you guys spend on CDs anyway? I'm not talking about your total collection, but just purchasing the one CD. I remember I was out shopping in HMV for some albums quite a few years back, and was horrified to see price-stickers of £14.99 or around that mark. To me, I think albums should be half that. I love buying albums when there's a deal on in a store. Like, 3 for 2 or something, or seeing some CDs going for under a fiver. I think that's where I buy most albums nowadays. I don't have the motivation to buy too many albums at the moment, but when I pick up one, it's usually when I spot something I want.

Maybe you could just use the words "chocolate raisin" to describe it. That's what I'm eating right now. A small box of Poppetts. Mmm. It's only a word, so, I wouldn't worry too much.

I don't think he's talking about your reaction, but your use of the word Stoic. To me, it seems like he doesn't think you used the right word maybe. That's what I got anyway, heh.

Hmm, I guess an update to remove that was inevitable. I don't know much about the HBC as I don't fiddle around with stuff like that. Surely the update has other features, though? There must be more to it than that?
-
I'm guessing he made the pre-order a long time ago maybe? Maybe they were one of the first places to take pre-orders for it, so he went there. A bit shit that you couldn't cancel it, though.

Fucking hell, I wouldn't like to be at the end of your sharp tongue. Tsssssch! You need Cider and F Zero. It's all the world needs. The last two films I've seen were both personal favourites of mine. Point Break I think Keanu Reeves was made for this role. Well, that and Ted...from Bill and Ted. He and The Swayze just have a certain charm and it makes the film instantly watchable. There's so many feel good moments, like the bit when Keanu goes sky-diving, but then it's quickly followed up by a crash back down to Earth when you learn that lives are on the line. Imo, I really don't think this film would've worked with two other actors. 8/10 from me. The Fugitive This is one of my favourite films, and I'd safely say that it is a classic. People talk about Han Solo or Indiana Jones when they talk about Harrison Ford's work, but this film needs to be talked about more. It's tense, and its relentless. You can see where most of the inspiration for Prison Break season 2 came from. Again, I don't think a better actor could've been picked for this role other than Tommy Lee Jones. I quite like watching him in any film that he's in. 9/10.

I've been up since 6:45, all showered and ready for the day. I got up early just in case I got called up to do some work. Got a message about 10 minutes ago saying that there is no work so far today. Bah, I feel sleepy. I'm now just listening to Jesus and Mary Chain and going to make a cuppa tea in a second. I've also got a ton of job applications I need to fill in. I think it's going to be a long day.

I bet your arse is so tight right now from all the clenching your doing. Tensing up. Yeeeeah. Today has been an ok day. I had a feeling my agency would call up, and they did, but I had to turn that particular job down. (I sound like an Assassin). Then, got another call later, and I'm working in the same school I was at last week. Lovely place. Sent off my payment details so I can expect a little moolah this week. Like...30 quid. That'll last, pfft. I popped to the gym, and this new personal trainer guy kept following meee everywwwhere asking how I was doing. I'm busting my arse, bitch, leave me alone to sweat in peeeace. I didn't say that. I just smiled, nodded back and muttered a "ya I'm fine thank you, how are you doing? Where did you grow up?" I'm sat in bed, with toned mantits, watching The Fugitive and drinking tea. And talking to my two favourite people. Ine Speeee and ViPeR/Joe. I also bought tickets to see her again soon. This has been a nice day. How was yours?

It's only illegal if the porn is bad. If the porn is good, then it's ok with Jesus and Gordan Brown. I haven't downloaded any music or tv for years now. At one time I used it as a way to find out about new bands or bands that people recommended to me. In the end, my computer needed formatting, so music went byebye. I did go out and buy CDs for some of the bands I listened to. I've basically compiled a list in my head of all the cds I need. It's called my list of the past. When the money comes in, my collection will grow. I have found that I have used youtube quite a lot. If youtube didn't exist, then I think many bands would be unlistened to by me. So, I'm thankful of it. I was never one for downloading films, so my DVD collection is legit. But yeah, I'm trying to make more of an effort to purchase CDs and go to gigs. My collection is pretty small, but one day I hope it'll grow bigger. Like my bones.
