Wooooooo! Go babe! You're kicking the backside of an ass.

But look at each of those games. They're aimed at a particular market. They're not aimed at a wider audience like games such as New Super Mario Bros. are. The audience is a lot smaller. I'd definitely say that Zack and Wiki is a game for a niche market. I'd argue the same for the other two. Also, you are right, it isn't just about the software, as my initial point about Heavy Rain looked at why that game is a success. It's a good piece of software that was marketed well and had a buzz/hype surrounding it. Considering the age we live in, I think it's almost like sending out a game to die if you fail to market it, or at least do it properly. As for the moon bit, I have no idea how anyone spotted that. I'm not sold that it is the Moon.

It depends what you mean by proper gamers, then. I thought you meant the serious gamers, and I stand by my comment that many serious gamers who value their experiences would want to see an easier or more robust online system for the Wii. Just one friendcode would have been a start, but we didn't even get that! When I say serious, I mean the ones who are hard to pry away from their Wiis! The ones who put serious gametime into it. It isn't the only way, though. In fact, how many people were salivating over the new Metroid or Galaxy 2? At the end of the day, a system is defined by its software. What would be the point in HD if we didn't have the software to go with it, so instantly the software becomes half of the solution there anyway. HD isn't like a multiplier. It doesn't mean you'll automatically get times 2/x2 sales because it is simply there. Its only a small part of the puzzle.

I disagree with the "proper gamers" want HD comment. I think most gamers just want quality experiences, whether or not that comes with HD or not doesn't matter. I think a more robust online system matters to more people than HD does. The visuals do matter, but I don't think it'll neccessarily win back all these gamers like you think it will. Just going to point out that third parties on this Nintendo system are actually thriving when compared to the Cube, and even more so than the 64. The 64 alienated a lot of developers. The Cube was better, but compared to the PS2 and the Xbox, it was lagging. The Wii is doing well with many third parties. In fact, didn't someone recently say that two thirds of Wii's million sellers were third party games? But, the issue is that these types of games are not the ones we particularly want to see. I personally want to see Dead Space sell more than Mad Horse Trainerz or something. The Wii has a certain image. In fact, so do Nintendo. They're family friendly. Remember all of those Kiddy arguments from last generation and the one before? The counter to that from Nintendo's competitors is that they are providing a different image. The perception of a console is really important. Maybe thats why party games are always seen on Wii shelves whereas other perhaps more deserving games are not. They're not expected to sell. How can a first person shooter sell on a party games console? That sort of thing. Its an image problem, partly.

Mario has been chasing Peach in Castles for decades now. It's about time she let him have it. Up her Toad-ridden Arsehole.

Well, my copy is now on the way. Amazon have despatched it, so it should be here before the week is out. Coming home from work every day this week will be exciting. I hope this gets here for Friday night, so I can play it then. It looks like its selling well, so this can only be good news for more future games of this type.

Power doesn't guarantee success, though. If the Wii had HD from the start, then wouldn't it also have needed more power, meaning that the price of the console would have been hiked up? So, this message of reaching out to non-gamers would have been lost right at the start. Last generation, they tried creating a powerhouse with the Cube and it didn't guarantee them success. I don't think it would change many things if a HD Wii suddenly came onto the market. Leave this for next generation.

Dazzy of Bee, can you explain how and why HD would help the Wii sell games? Also, I don't know much about the technical side of things, but wouldn't it only really work if the console had more power within it? I don't think its the answer. Most people have already pointed at why Heavy Rain has been succeeding. A huge effort was put into it, and then they marketed it well at its targetted audience. Its been hyped. Then, people actually went out and bought it. If the same title was on Wii, I'd have expected it to have bombed as well, or for the most part to have been ignored by many. That's my opinion on it. But, there's a buzz about this on the PS3, whereas most Wii/Nintendo console owners only create buzzes about Nintendo's own games. Bar a very, very select few games. It's been the same with the Cube and the 64. First party games have always pissed over third party games in the charts.

Who's to say that the Moon won't fall any second now. You'll have your face smashed in by a Moon Rock. Beat that! I joke. Love you really. Hug Hug kiss Kiss. Geometry Wars. Addictive. Bright lights. Everywhere. Pretty. Me good.

You'd have to high five yourself. Therefore, being your own one man tag-team. Which is very un-fun when compared to a two-man tag-team.

I was having a little thought playing ExciteTruck yesterday evening. As I was playing eet, I thought to myself "whoa, this level is even more awesome than I thought it was originally." Haven't played the game in a while, so going back to it and loving it even more is great. So, whilst thinking about that, I thought about other sections of Wii games that I particularly enjoyed, and thought it would make a nice idea for a thread. 1.

Yeah, I really don't know what the ref was thinking. And, we won't know unless he comes out and explains why he made that particular decision. I think this season has been a pretty good advert for the League Cup. Those two-legged Manchester Derbies were brilliant, and there's been some quality games of football in the competition. Having it on the BBC will certainly go a long way to advertise the cup, no doubt about it. Should make for an even more exciting competition next season. Those fans at the game are only a small selection of the total, though. So, I doubt every Villa fan wanted you to go down. I wouldn't take much notice of people who do that. Like those Stoke fans that Ramar pointed out yesterday. They don't deserve being talked about.

So, you batted them off because you prefer to have some form of unnatural sex? How very animalistic of you, Molly. Sheeet, I sound like Dannyboy. Gaggle, I hope Martinist is ok. Mainly because you are his tagteam partner and a tagteam only works well with a minimum of two people. One man tag teams suuuck.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the Nemanja Vidic of last season. If you find him, please return him. Thanks. Two minutes before kick-off, my famous last words were "I hope Vidic is on form today." I had my head in my hands as he mugged Gabby. A very, very lucky boy. To not even get a yellow was a huge let off for him. He should have gone, no question about it. There really is no explanation. For the rest of the match, he was ok, but we still look very shaky there. I thought we were ok the other night, but I just can't get my head around how poor we've been defensively this season. If Carrick and Fletcher weren't in front of the back four, and if Villa had a bit more firepower up front, we were probably there for the taking today. I thought there were some good performances today, but I don't think there were many who totally stood out from the rest. Park had a very good first half, I thought Carrick looked good defensively but put some poor balls into the box (those succession of free-kicks that didn't beat the first man ), and I thought Valencia looked much, much better in the second half. He was pretty quiet in the first half, but looked great in the second. My personal man of the match was Berbatov. Every single good piece of play we had went through him. I don't think there was one attack we had that he didn't feature in. Great to see Rooney get the winner, it was written with him starting on the bench. Villa made it a great game. I'm a big fan of Milner and he is looking the part now. I think what they really needed was someone up alongside Gabby to help him out. He had a great game though, and really gave Vidic (and Evans, imo) a tough time. Lovely player. They were unlucky to lose it today, but I'm hoping they get to the FA Cup Final. Two Cup Finals in a single season would be a massive achievement.

That's a very delicate issue with the idea of consent. When does consent "count"? Does it have to be written, or is it verbal? Because, if it's verbal, then this person you're having sex with is dead. What do you do when the police turn up? "It's ok, she said it was fine when she was still alive." Uh, there's the problem. I find the idea of the act itself very, very vulgar. The body has stopped living, so to still continue to "do" things with it once the person has died seems very wrong. Once the person has died and been buried, then surely they have left the world...What is the appeal anyway?

You've been living in a dreamworld, Neo.

He's absolutely right. In fact, this evening, playing ExciteTruck for two hours. Totally didn't happen. And yesterday: Playing Geometry Wars for a few hours. That didn't happen either. And all these suckers playing the new Silent Hill whilst I wait for mine to be delivered. They didn't play theirs either. We're living in a dreamworld, like the Matrix. Whilst this guy is living in the real world, also taken from the film The Matrix, but actually outside of the Matrix, and into the real world which is nowhere near as vibrant as the Matrix. In fact, we better plug this sucker back in.

It's a lot more complex than that. The first set of games you listed are for a much, much younger audience than the likes of House of the Dead: Overkill and No More Heroes, or even Umbrella Chronicles. They're shallower experiences, bought by parents to entertain their kids for a few hours. Most likely, the parents walked past the game on the shelf, thought it would be good for their son/daughter, and picked it up. The other ones are different. A parent isn't going to pick up Overkill for their child...because they'd have to be quite thoughtless to do that! They're aiming for a different audience with those games. The experiences are much, much deeper than Carnival games, Ben 10, et al. So, why aren't those games selling? Well, there's a few reasons for those. Mainly there's a lack of exposure through advertising to get these games noticed to the masses. If the games aren't stocked in the shops and put on display, how can they sell? And, finally, because many gamers do not deem these games worth spending money on. That's a big reason. "It's on the Wii, so I'll pick it up when it's cheaper." Everyone is guilty of this. I wonder how many of those games you mentioned have sold since they were dropped in price, or picked up second hand, or bought through special deals?

Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
Fierce_LiNk replied to Ren of Heavens's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Where did this game come from? It just suddenly seemed to exist. Those screenshots do look very tasty. Clearly a fair bit of work has gone into it. Lets just hope it plays well. -
Sorry to hear about that. What a very annoying thing to happen. You've worked hard, and I think you will keep working hard regardless of this setback. So, keep going, and you will get there.

It is horrible when any football fan thinks that it is funny to mock such a disturbing incident such as this. It just shows a lack of class, and a lack of humanity. That type of behaviour is exactly what gives people a bad perception of football.

I'm pretty certain that Match of the Day didn't show a replay of the Eduardo injury. I think they did the same as they did tonight, they show a few frames before the impact, but they don't show the actual connection...for obvious reasons. From what I've seen, it does look a more "genuine" challenge than the one on Eduardo. I don't think it was intended to hurt the boy, and from what I can tell it was more mis-timed, clumsy and reckless than intentionally dangerous. The look on Shawcross's face as he cried when receiving the card and on the way to the tunnel does make me believe that no malice was intended. He looked very distraught, and it'll be a shame if he's branded a thug after today. This is just after my initial viewing though... I hope Ramsey gets well soon and has a full recovery. Also, well done to the Arsenal players who regained their composure after witnessing that and going on to win the game. The look of horror was clear to see, but you can tell who they were thinking of when they celebrated at the end. It was for Ramsey, no doubt about it. Also, that was the worst Chelsea defensive display I think I've seen for a very long time. Carvalho and Terry looked like they hadn't played together all season. Very disjointed.

So, because it is close/identical to the style of Mario Galaxy's boxart, it has to be the official one? Could it just be that it is a mock-up but done in a similar style to the boxart that we did get with the first game? It hardly matters anyway. Look at that Mario Kart boxart we did get...and we all still bought it anyway. Also, that Twilight Princess artwork is a bit nicer in my opinion to the one we received. I think it suits the feel of the game quite well.

That opening cinematic is brilliant. I'm really looking forward to this. Already, there is a different feel to this game when compared to the Prime ones.
