Typical, I didn't think Giggs had a good game at all, yet he pops up with the first goal. Glad to see Rooney get a second. In games like this where there's no pressure on the midfield, you begin to see what Carrick can offer to the team. He was passing the ball everywhere tonight and looked really confident, and offered protection to the back four in those few times that Schalke go forward. Sad to see Neuer on the losing side, but you can see why Schalke are 10th (I think) in their league. They simply didn't turn up.

I'd go with that. Explain that what you did was wrong and keep explaining how you really want to be at that place of work. People say and do things in the heat of the moment, and it's not always a true reflection of what they feel and how they are. I hope it goes ok, for you dude. Good luck.

Neuer is fucking unreal. But, how many chances have United had? The tie could be over by now. How have we not scored? Would love it if United put a bid in for Neuer. Would make a very worthy successor to Van Der Sar.

In fairness, it does mention that they're releasing those games in Japan. So, it doesn't necessarily mean that we'll be getting some of those games. I hope we do, though.

So, Nintendo have pretty much confirmed the Wii is dead.
Fierce_LiNk replied to Caris's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There's basically two factions. The one half who feel let down by the Wii, and are enjoying their other consoles. Or, the other half who are happy with the Wii and believe that it is still alive and kicking. I'm with the second half. Maybe my tastes have changed over the years, but I'm enjoying this generation very much. It has also helped me rediscover my love for platforming games. For every Cube title that I've loved, there's been a Wii game that has either matched or surpassed that. Pretty much what Captain Falcon said. Wouldn't surprise me if we get to the next generation and people start to discover hidden Wii gems that they didn't spot first time around. It happened with the Cube. I don't remember there being so much love for it, at the time. Not this much anyway. -
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS

Yeah, that's the main issue with MM. In its current state, it wouldn't work due to the save function. (I liked the function itself, it just doesn't fit with the quick-play nature of handheld gaming). Other than that, adding a few other dungeons wouldn't be too great an idea. Remember, "The Four Who Live There" with regards to the giants and the dungeons. You couldn't suddenly fling in another giant. Unless it was some kind of side-dungeon, which would be ok, I guess. But then, what would you get out of it? Unless its just an extra area to go to if you want, which is ok, I guess. -

I'm going to arrest you for heresy. You heretic! The films were awesome. Exactly, ending it abruptly would have put a dampener on the trilogy. It's better for a film to take a bit more time to do something right, rather than doing it half-arsed. Like Helm's Deep, it was epic, with attention to detail. It was well-crafted. -

He's talking about the half hour or so part right at the end of Return of the King, after the ring has been destroyed. -
It would be a gamble, but unless you buy a player who has already proved themselves in Europe, it'll always be a gamble. At United, we've got Chris Smalling and Antonio Valencia, who maybe played a couple of games in Europe, but they were quite in-experienced. They've done well since they've come. Smalling in particular was a gamble, but in football you have to take gambles. It would be a great move for Liverpool if they got him. Defensively is probably the area you need to look at, especially as Carragher is getting close to the end now.

Now you go too far! I love Lord of the Rings. Heh, 5 endings, very true. I'll let you off...for now. -

Seriously, you've never finished it? That's bad, man. The equivalent to that is Frodo making it all the way to Mount Doom and then dying of a heart-attack. You were so close...I'd never forgive myself if I did that. -

What about all the "talk" about the boxart? It was quite amusing to read. -
How do you feel about potentially having Cahill at centre-back? Or even Leighton Baines at left back? They would be pricey moves, and I don't expect Arsenal to go for either. Or even Brede Hangelande, as I remember he was linked to you guys last season. All are quality players.

Melee and GX are two of the best games on that system. I want a Wii version of F Zero, but dunno if it'll happen. TeeDee, your postings of PES make me horny. Is it really that good? If Zero Mission is there, I'm in. Also, throw in a 3D remake of Metroid II.

Yeah, the nostalgia line is old. But then, so is this one about the lighting and water. It's been mentioned for the twelfth time, too. There's being critical and there's being over the top. -
Word. The Cube had a sickening launch. I remember Burnout and Monkey Ball being there, too. As well as Cel Damage. It had about a dozen great games at launch. That's the thing, though. You could have spent the first year just playing the launch games. It was strong. Plus there were games coming out for it quite soon after, such as Melee. It was a great first year, I thought.

There's always a risk when you buy a console or handheld at the start of its life-cycle. I hold off unless I'm absolutely sure there's enough in the pipeline or on the horizon. For example, with the Cube, I remember there being Rogue Leader, Extreme G 3, Luigi's Mansion at launch, and then Melee coming out fairly soon afterwards. There was a steady stream there and enough at launch to keep you occupied. If you find yourself bored now, and you're sure there's nothing out for the next few months, then you probably made the wrong choice by jumping onto the system too early. Its a risk. Saying that, at least you've got the system now, so that when the games do come, you've got the platform to play them on. The games will come, which is good. Its just far too early at the moment, in my opinion.

Arsenal fans, if you could sign any 3 players in the world (obtainable, I mean), who would they be?

I've been using my Wavebird recently for Super Metroid on the VC and for playing some old Cube games. It really is a thing of beauty. I'm also growing more and more attached the Wiimote. Love the look and feel of it. The more I use my housemate's PS3 controller, the more I realise it just isn't for me. It feels too clunky in my hands.

*looks at the top of the thread* SCREEEEW YOU, ALL! A few months ago, I found some loooovely shoes in Jack & Jones when I was in Belgium. They were 60 euros and I really wanted them, but held out because of the price. I was gutted afterwards because I knew I wanted them. I went to town yesterday in Bournemouth, popped into FreeSpirit who were having a sale. Low and behold, I see the shoes right in front of my eyes. I almost hyperventilated. I never get worked up over shoes (because I'm not a woman. Bitch plz). But, these were by far the most comfortable pair I have ever tried. Best thing of all? 20 QUID! I came.
