  1. It's not really that, because I know that they're only a small part of the job. The end goal is to teach children and make them happy, which I think I'm doing. So, I know I'll continue to put the effort in. It's just that sometimes it would be nice to get some gratitude or some recognition from the people you work for.
  2. Being rewarded for being nice is like getting a prize for not being an arsehole, or for not going to jail. There must be more to someone than being nice. It only makes up a tiny part of your personality. Women/Men like interesting men slash women. What makes you interesting? Find that and then find a way of putting that across, without over-doing it.
  3. I was in Sainsburys, browsing some tvs and looking at blu-ray players (crying at my wallet). Then, got a phonecall, right on 11:11. Was looking around to see if the people of Sainsburys were going to join me in this "lol, coincidence" moment. Sadly, nobody did.
  4. You're welcome, brah. Although, I didn't actually go out to stop anyone from winning a title. I'm trying to stay up. I'm gutted I didn't take points off you, too. :p Winstons (a) Real Peeps (a) Sixty Fourthers (h) AC Elites (h) Inter (h) Madpool (a) Shit just got real. Madpool is going to be the hardest game, as it's a fantastic team away from home. But, all the rest, I can get something, I feel. They've all been close games. DRAGOOOOOOOOOOOO! *war cry*
  5. Bit of a disappointed day. The car repairs cost £114 which is lame, considering I wasn't even needed at work and it could have been avoided. As well as that, we finally got our school inspection report back, which was good. The downside and annoying thing for me is that there isn't a mention at any point about the lessons they came to observe me, there's no mention at all of the fact that I've wrote whole curriculums/schemes of work for two separate year groups from scratch, no mention about the planning for Spanish that I've done (again from scratch, when nothing existed beforehand! For the entire junior school). I'm pissed about that because I was given excellent verbal feedback, but it should be written in that report. Bah. I'm annoyed at this because I have worked very hard and have been spending countless hours trying to make our part of the school better, in comparison to some who literally just turn up when work starts and leave bang on the bell, those who don't put the extra hours in and are teaching/doing the same thing since they got there. Meh.
  6. Sorry to hear about your loss, Raineeng.
  7. I need a new team, brah. Nice write-up, @Haden. You are write about Dragooooo, but remember that we had a tough fixture list, compared to earlier in the season. We will be back and we will fight until the very last day. DRAGOOOOO. *whimpers*
  8. I've just spent 2 hours and a bit in a garage and have to go back tomorrow morning, all because of the fuuuuuucking flooding in this part of the world. What annoys me most is that the rest of the fecking school finished last week and I went in today to help out in the Nursery, when I wasn't really needed as we only had a few kids anyway. Will cost at least 90 quid tomorrow to fix the car's problem. In addition to that, it also means I can't go home tonight like I originally planned, so I've lost a day there, too. Not even sure why I'm helping out anyway. There are other people who should be helping out before me and the pay is shit. Going to put me foot down and say that I'm not doing it again, as I reckon I do enough anyway.
  9. Yeah, the big 4 (Squat, deadlift, bench and shoulder/military press) are very important. But, you can't and shouldn't JUST stick to those 4 all of the time, at least not without variations in it. (incline bench press, arnold press) Eventually you'll plateau and will underdevelop in certain areas. I'd start off with one of the big 4 and then maybe a variant, and then work on the relevant muscles in a different exercise. For example, for shoulders, I'd Military Press for 3-5 sets, then maybe Arnold Press, and one or two of up-right rows, front raises, side raises, shrugs. That's without doing any tricep work, which some like to do, although I prefer doing that on its own day. Your workout is good and I've seen people do that. Personally, it's not for me and I couldn't keep it going to the maximum for a prolonged period of time.
  10. Bring it the fuck on! We'll take 'em. I'm sure of it. We'll see both Van Persie and Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick each, I bet. At least one red waiting to happen somewhere, too. Also, fucccck meee, Leeds fans just exist to piss me off. I've got some on facebook right now commenting on the draw, laughing that we have Real Madrid. Really? Really?!
  11. Ine and I went to Brighton yesterday to see how the old place was going. Had an excellent time. It took around two hours to get there, but it's a pretty simple drive. We went down the lanes/laines to do a bit of shopping and ended up buying a few Christmas presents for some friends, (monkeys that you can make out of sock puppets (!!!) and a salt and pepper set designed like a panda) some stuff for the kitchen (a wine rack, hurrah!) and a few gifts for her family. Was lovely being there. The decorations and lights are much better than the ones we have here in Bournemouth. We met up with a friend in this pub which was a few roads over from where I used to live (The Park Crescent, @uəʌəsʎɐɾ may know it). What we didn't realise was that the pub would soon be filled by oldies and religious types, as there was a carol service on tonight. Was pretty hilarious as our table was dead centre in the middle of the room. You told tell the oldies were looking at us thinking "THEY DON'T KNOW OUR SOOOONGSSSS!" shaking their fists and stuff. The songs weren't even well known. There were 50 of them (FIFTY!) and the majority were regional carols...really bizarre stuff. Anyway, we stayed for 2 songs as we wanted to try and blend in (lol, a Paki at a carol service) and because we didn't really want to go outside in the cold. In the most cringeworthy part of the night, the carol service leader gave the microphone to a volunteer from the audience who stood up and did a solo for the first verse of the first song. She was very, very old...thank God for Cider. So, we shuffled out the door after that one. Made our way to the Mongolian BBQ in the laines which is basically this buffet type place where you get given a bowl and fill it with meat, fish, vegetables, spices, herbs, sauces, pastas, etc and they cook it infront of you on a hot plate. Then, you eat it. It's lovely. The satay sauces and coconut creams made me life. After that, we came home. Then, bed.
  12. Cheers for the pull-ups confirmation. Means I can probably get by without a pull-up bar now, which will please the landlord as I won't be damaging his walls. :p Not saying that everyone should abandon the gym. Just pointing out that actually, in the longrun, it is cheaper to get your own equipment and work out at home. Space is a big issue and if you haven't got the space for the equipment, then it's a no-go. But, if you can do it, it's definitely an avenue worth looking at.
  13. Oh yeah, I'm not saying that everyone should go out and buy 200kg worth of weight plates. But, that there are ways of doing it at home and it can actually work out cheaper in the longrun. When you've got this stuff at home, you've got it for life. When you own that kettlebell, its yours. Same with a skipping rope or a cycle. Yes, it does require self-discipline, but once you've got that, you're laughing. I went through a phase of going to the gym in the morning, early before work. At that point in time, it worked wonders. Looking back on it, I realise that I mostly did it before work because that was one of the quietest times, and where I could do whatever I wanted to do without having to wait around. You lose so much time waiting for a piece of equipment to become available/somebody to finish their set...it's staggering at times. It's only something you appreciate when you have an empty gym or if you can do it at home.
  14. I can understand what you mean. My excitement levels changed throughout the build-up to this. It's definitely worth going to see and it's still a good/great film. From my first viewing, I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed any of the Lotr trilogy when seeing them for the first time. It doesn't have the same amount of mystery, charm or magic as the others. That's what I found. I'd recommend going to see this in your standard 2D edition. Then you can judge the film for what it is, rather than getting caught up in the debate about the visuals, which shouldn't be what we talk about when we analyse this film, imo.
  15. Glad to see we have another Empire lover in our ranks. I'd recommend seeing all of your "bigger" films in the Empire Studios, and then the other ones could be done in the ABC/Odeon. I've only seen 2 films this year (to my knowledge) not in the Studio at Empire. Men in Black 3 and The Hobbit. (Ok, maybe 3, but I saw Brave in Belgium, so that doesn't really count in this particular argument) That's a very romantic way of looking at it. Yes, cinemas are expensive and the food is extortionate, but it's the unfortunate price you have to pay to see the latest films close to release. With popcorn and drinks, I've never really had a problem with buying it from a nearby shop and sneaking that in. I've never been searched. The price of the ticket is unavoidable. But, £4 quid more to see a film much closer to release, at a more convenient time and the choice of where to sit, which screen to see it in, etc. I'd probably take that, tbh. Saying that, the finest Cinema I've ever been to is the Duke of York Picturehouse in Brighton. The downside is that they only really show a few films per day (like in your family-run cinema), only one screen (again), but the seats are fantastic, you can take alcohol in and they often show films that won't get shown in your average cinema. It's good to have both options. I don't believe in monopolies and having one chain rule everything.
  16. I believe I've found a solution, using my squat stands. I just simply put the barbell on it and perform pull ups on that. The downside is that you do have to start off almost kneeled down before pulling yourself up, but you get the full range of motion in, and actually you are forced to use your back and arm muscles, without really having to rely on momentum. I was slightly worried about the safety aspect, but unless I swing like a baboon, I should be ok with this. Only gave it a quick go, so will see how it works out on the actual workout when I come around to it. May also give inverted rows a go. Yeah, the majority of exercises (the important ones, anyway) can be done at home, provided you have the space and money. But then, you can save money in the longrun. I'm totalling up the money and it sorta works out like this: £90 for the bench (it's a york 13-in-1, I think. Can do incline, flat, decline bench, as well as a bunch of other cool stuff. Actually better than ALL of the benches in my current gym) £50 for the squat stands...bargain. £80 or so for the cast iron weight starter set, which features the barbell, dumbells and about 50kg of weight. £64 for the additional cast iron weights (40kg altogether) Altogether, that's £284. Plus, for the cardio I do hula-hooping, which cost me about £20 for the weighted hoop. Plus, about £5 for a skipping rope. Jogging and running you can do outside for free. There's a tonne of home-workouts you can do with the help of youtube at home for free, in your living room. So, cardio is no issue. I'm going to look at getting some more weights, 25kg plates, which will cost me about £45 per plate. So, about 90 quid for the two of them. If we round the whole lot up to, say, 400 quid, it may sound like a lot. But, when you factor in the cost of an average gym, let's say 30 a month, it isn't that bad at all. That's about a year and 2 months of gym membership, including: - The hassle of getting there and back, which could include the cost of petrol - The hassle of time, so you go when you have finished work, for example. - The busy aspect of a gym. If there's only one bench press and that's what you want to do, unless you hit the gym at exactly the right time, you're fucked, as I have been on numerous occasions. - The annoyance of people or small groups who hog certain pieces of equipment that you want to use. Quite a few others. On the other hand, unless you have a LOT of space and a fuuuuck load of cash, there are some exercises that you will struggle to do at home, such as: - Lateral pulldowns. That's the one and probably most important exercise I will miss the most. But, if the pull-ups work, then it's all fine. Plus, I'll have rows and deadlifts to focus on. - Leg presses, but instead I'll be focusing on squatting, which is essentially the same exercise, in essence. - Hip abductors - Leg extensions/raises - Calf raising equipment, but this can be done at home using dumbells, so it's still possible. Although I LOVE the gym, there is a lot of sense in doing this stuff at home. It's only when I started to do the mathematics and looked at this option seriously that I realised just how easy it could be done. Just going to point out that all of these pieces of equipment are in my bedroom. It can be done.
  17. Yeah, would be surprised if you went for Sturridge. Seems quite unlikeable and quite selfish. Not really much of a team player. Walcott would do well but he now only wants to play through the middle, apparently. On another note, couldn't help but be disappointed watching Adam Johnson yesterday. He's lost it, big time. No excitement when he's on the ball, no creativity. He's quickly turning into a bland footballer. Big wages for a guy who doesn't do an awful lot.
  18. That bolded part is why you need another striker. :p Borini is young and has time on his side, but isn't really much of a wide player like he's being played in for that formation. He's also not good enough (yet, maybe) to be a first choice striker. I'm glad you recognise that Gerrard is on the decline. He hasn't really been playing well for a while, but that's understandable due to his age. Still, if this were my team that I were looking at, I'd be begging for a striker in January. And a wide player. Anyway, for a club like Liverpool, there should be competition for places as that will drive up the quality of the team.
  19. My body is sore and tired from yesterday's back workout. Definitely need more weight for the deadlifts, so have to get the wallet out once again. I'm trying to find a suitable pull-up bar that can be used in my flat. I can't drill any holes, and I'm not sure how big the door-frame/how wide the frame needs to be to support these Iron Gym type of bars. Also, it's likely I'll be cancelling my gym-membership at some point in the near future. Don't really have the time to keep visiting there and I seem to have the vast majority of everything I need at home now.
  20. Yeah, that's part of the downside. You need multiple WiiMotion+ to be able to enjoy it properly.
  21. You'll need a plan B if Suarez doesn't score, like he didn't yesterday. I thought the same when we bought Van Persie. "What will happen to the other strikers?" The answer is that you rotate them and use your subs wisely. Also, if Suarez does get banned or injured, then it's a big problem. Not sure what I think of this "Shelvey as a false-9" idea.
  22. The sword-fighting was fun from what I remember. It's a bit more of a forgettable experience when compared to the original.
  23. Same every week for every manager. Bit of a joke, I admit. Liverpool are paying the price for not buying a striker or two in January. Very surprised they didn't put a bid in for somebody like Ba. Everton have a better and more balanced team, which is where I think Liverpool need to look and take note of.
  24. My cinema of choice at the moment is the Empire Cinema at Tower Park, for a number of reasons. First of all, it's only a 10 minute drive from our house. Secondly, you get free parking and it's pretty easy to get a space. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, it just seems to have a good feel and atmosphere inside. They have these special rooms on the top floor called "The Studio", which is almost the equivalent of watching a film in your living room, but with the same booming sound and big screen of a cinema. (just to point out that images don't really reflect what the studio is like. It usually only has about 4 or 5 rows. The screen isn't as small as it looks in the image, it is more than enough needed). Pretty small inside, so you get less people, which is good. The downside with this is that it does get filled up most of the time, but usually you get "the fans" there, so to speak. My best experience in there was probably watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight back-to-back there, which was a fantastic night. Yesterday, I saw The Hobbit in the ABC cinema, which was fine, but it didn't get filled up, which I found surprising for a 7pm showing on a Saturday night. I was expecting it to be packed. Maybe because Bournemouth doesn't really have free-parking, so that's an extra cost. The cinema itself was fine, the actual room was pretty big, but the whole entry-part where you can buy your popcorn and drinks didn't feel as welcoming. It's pretty much in the doorway, whereas the Empire Cinema seems to have a better layout. The Odeon in Bournemouth is probably the worst I've ever been to. Went there to see Source Code a year ago and the room we saw it in was absolutely tiny, crammed, and wasn't really "tiered." As a result, I had some fat-man's head covering up the bottom left quarter of the screen for the entire film. The whole place felt quite cheap and minimum effort. Considering the price you pay for it, it's not worth the hassle.
  25. Probably due to the impact that Wii Sports had, in comparison to Resort. Makes sense. Anyone could pick up a Wiimote and could play in Wii Sports. Don't think Resort was quite as accessible, but still enjoyable.
