Giggs was ok, but we needed more pace. Earlier in the season, this would be where Anderson would come on and offer something. Annoyed Fletcher didn't come on. 1-1 is not bad, but it's the performance that bugs me. Swansea are a good team and you can't just turn up at their place and roll them over for 3 points. But, that performance, particularly second half. We can do so much better.

Practicality versus Price - HELP ME PREASE

I gave it a thought before, but have worried about stupid shit happening, like the bar snapping in half (yeah, I know) or the squat stand falling over, or something. It's actually pretty safe. Good to know. Now I just need to get back into it and improve. I'm fairly weak at these, I find it easier when the palms are facing you, but that's going to work more of the bicep. In my current gym, there aren't actually that many areas to do pull-ups. I can think of 3. Only one of these allows you to do them assisted. Should be able to include them into my routine properly now. -

You played any of the AvP games? Give AvP2 a bash. Really quite something in multiplayer. Loved it. True, that is a good point. But, the time they're spending adding a multiplayer could have been spent perfecting the singleplayer, or getting it out a lot sooner. MGS says hi. -

It's on Roslin Road South. Pretty close to Bournemouth Uni. I live on Surrey Road, pretty much in the Upper Gardens. I'm pretty sure its a 12 month contract. I'm temptedings to give them a ring when I get back and ask for a tour of the place. I could do that, but I've already sorted that issue out. I place my barbell in my squat rack and do pull ups/chin ups on that. Worked absolutely fine, lats and arms were sore the next day (after the workout), so I'm going to stick with that. -
We were so shite today. First half, up to about the 20th minute was excellent. Everything after that was dire, the score-line doesn't really tell the story. We lacked pace in midfield and passed the ball around so slowly. I am utterly convinced that some of our players didn't know what the score was in the 90th minute, as they were passing the ball along the backline, even in the 92nd minute, like we were 3 or 4 goals up. One of the most WTF things I've seen. Also, have to lol at our subs. Rooney has a bad game, so let's take off Valencia and push Rooney to the left. Oh, we're lacking pace, so let's bring on Giggs. Finally, for good measure, let's bring on Scholes. Genuinely cried at those substitutions. Slow and boring football. As fantastic as Giggs and Scholes have been for the club, they are occupying two spots in the team that should be going to new, hungry and fresher players who actually have something to prove. Bringing on these two changed nothing. Gary Neville retired and it allowed Rafael to step up to the plate and become the player he is today, one of our best players this season. Swansea were great, but we were so poor. Highlights on Match of the Day won't do it justice. Dreadful. Aside from Young and Carrick who I thought both put a decent shift in.

Wonder where Ba will end up. Would be a shame for you to lose him as he is quality. Although, it seems like he and Cisse can't seem to hit it off, as well as there being some sort of law which prevents both strikers from being in form/scoring goals at the same time.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen

But why even bother with a multiplayer? Why must everything have a multiplayer these days? The AvP games have a multiplayer, so what is there to distinguish between this game and those? They have a supreme opportunity here to create something different to what we've had before. We've already had the opportunity to play as marines, so what is new here? We already have had single player missions where we head into the hive to rescue our compatriots, so what is different this time? The difference should be the depth in the gameplay and how it looks, feels and sounds like a video-game adaption of the films. Hell, some have even said it is a sequel to Aliens, in some sort of alternate universe. That is the game's selling point. From what we've seen, this is where the game seems to get so many things right. Initially, when we were told that this was a single-player videogame from the marine's perspective, I was so excited. This is what we've wanted for so long. Not for the ability to take part in missions as a marine. We were finally being able to (in a video-game sense) become the marine, a marine, a character, with the ability to interact with other marines as if we were almost in the films themselves. It's a shame some of this original promise has been lost. -

Certain parts of the Goldeneye game would need to be changed to make it more accessible as a game. Some parts naturally work and fit, like the Archives and Tank sections. Some parts will need to be changed to make it more fun as a game. Look at the facility level. It doesn't play exactly like the film (except for the end part) but it's altered to make it more playable. Goldeneye still remains true to the film. Your important characters are still there. It has the atmosphere of the films, the stealth aspect, as well as the shoot-out-ability that is still relevant to the series. So, although it alters a few things here and there, it doesn't actually change or rework the formula. Aliens has mostly stuck to it, but there are certain things that are included which...don't actually fit. Is there a real need to create different classes of Aliens that don't exist in the films? Well, personally, I'd say no. Unless those classes could theoretically exist in the franchise/film. Which, I would say some of the classes don't. As for co-op, it only annoys me because it just means the game has changed (even if it is slightly, that's debatable) from what was initially offered. The multiplayer modes basically look like the AvP games. I don't want that. I want Aliens (the film) in game form. Not another AvP. -

Yeah, by car, it's about 19 mins. In reality, with traffic conditions, its more like 25. Just totalling it up in my head, we'd be paying 25 each for the membership, so that's £50. Plus, parking will be roughly 3-4 quid a time. If we go there twice a week for a month, we'll be paying about another 25 quid just for parking. Plus, petrol, which will possibly be another 20 quid. So, although the initial charge is 25 quid each, it'll actually double when taking into account parking, and petrol. But, that's still cheaper than the other place. However, then you have to take into account the times we can use the place (a bit inconvenient) and the drive there and back, which is quite long. It's basically an extra hour. Club 2 is much more practical. Although it is initially more expensive, I'm certain we won't need to pay parking charges, and the petrol cost is quite negligible. You get to Club 1 by using a dual carriageway for part of it, so more petrol loss there, too. -

She is equally torn, hence thread. A tough choice. Just to clarify, it's extremely unlikely we'll be going to either club to do anything other than squash eet up. So, on that basis, club 1 seems more sensible. -

No wai. Just stating the benefits and downsides of both. It really is practicality versus price on this one. It really is going to be the squash membership we're after, so the other benefits of club 2 are things we won't really be using. -

We have all of our gym stuff at home, since I've bought weights and bench already. So, probably won't be using gym. Club 1 is cheaper, but then you have to pay for more petrol cost, more parking and we only have the ability to use club between 5-9 on Monday to Friday. So, it's a bit more limiting in that respect. -
Ignore the casual racism preaaase in the title. As Ine has moved a great distance to be in the YooKay, I realise that I have to do loads of shit to make her feel welcome and all. One of those things is to take an interest in her activities and interests: This time it is Squash. We love to squash. However, we have a dilemma. Currently, there are two leisure centres/clubs that have caught our eye, but they each bring a set of problems along with it. As a result, we can't decide which is best. Club 1 is 19 minutes away, probably more than google maps says has a membership fee of £25 per person gives us usage of the squash courts, except 5-9 o'clock on Mon-Fri has a public car park which charges you to park there. Roughly 3 quid for the duration of our squash stay. Club 2 is moar expensive - £65 for the first person and about £40 for the second person on the joint membership account is only 5 minutes away by driving, very close. includes the ability to use ALL of the club's facilities in their membership, including full use of their gym and pool - unsure of car park, but probably free as it's a posh club. Membership parking, I bet. Will check. So, help. Club 1 is further away, but cheaper (initially). We realise that being further away means more petrol cost and cost for the car park. But, Club 2 is more expensive from the outset. Although, it is worth noting that the price includes everything. Gym, pool and all facilities. So, in that respect, it isn't terrible.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen

I'm the biggest Alien fan OF ALL TIME (Kanye West gif) and I couldn't be any less excited about this. It's just totally missed the boat in terms of release date. It's been in development for so, so long that any excitement for it has simply died out. The more I see of the game, the more it diverts from its original path. The original game didn't have co-op play, it was initially a single-player game that seemed to get across well the theme of isolation. The introduction of co-op play goes against this. The game WAS loyal to the film Aliens (indeed, the whole franchise) and now it has diverted from that path by introducing more and more ideas that don't really have much of a place in the universe. Suicide-bomber Aliens? That last trailer which feature the exploding head thing just...it kills me inside. Basically, they need to back up about 12 months and take what game they had, perfect it, and release it the fuck into the wild already. -
I call bullshit. This imposter who has replaced Stewart Downing is the best player this season. He can score AND assist. At the same time. He's dat gud.
-
It's worth trying, even once. Don't think you'll have much opportunity to give it a go, at least not in the UK.
-
Right now, Ine is probably in a corner crying. :p I like Christmas cards. It's nice to receive them, although I am shite at giving them out. If anything, it's nice just being able to see the pictures on front.

I've seen probably a dozen or so films in Belgium, and although the idea is weird at first, it is very useful. Firstly, the point you make about people getting back at random times, it's not really an issue from what I've seen. Usually people are eager to get out and back quickly into their seat ready for the movie to begin. As for advertisements, in this country they would probably do it. From what I've seen, the lights come on and the screen just turns black/is frozen. No adverts. So, that isn't an issue. I think music does play overhead, but that is kept to a minimum, so again, no really an issue. It really isn't as much of a deal as you'd think. Definitely something that shouldn't be knocked until it is tried out. Extremely useful for little kids who do have smaller bladders, and for very long films, such as Return of the King as Bob pointed out. From my experience of it, it is usually done in the right way and doesn't "kill" any action sequences that are happening in the film. Usually they're decently timed and it's in one of these transition scenes, so a good time to pause. Also, you may not need to go to the toilet every two to three hours, but you might need to go during the film for some reason. It doesn't mean you have a problem. When you need to go, you need to go.
-
We don't do cinema breaks at half-time in the UK and Ireland. (at least, I'm sure Ireland don't do it) From watching films in Belgium, I'm actually in favour of these breaks. It means that you get less people wandering off at points during the film. Instead, if you need to pop to the loo, you know that there will be a break coming up at some point, so there's your chance.

Don't be as negative as your tactics, dude. (OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!) Play the Dragooooo way and you can finish at least second bottom. Possibly even third if you spend big on win bonuses.
-
I lolled. Looks like it's an exciting end to the season at both the top and the bottom. Bottom looks very tight. Imagine if Ell did a West Brom and made a dramatic escape.
