The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Fierce_LiNk replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, that era serves it well. Although, the robots were pretty awesome in Skyward Sword. Wouldn't mind seeing them again in the future. One aspect of Skyward Sword I hope they keep is the way you can upgrade weapons. Very fun. I'd like them to go a bit further with it, so maybe you had ways to improve your armour. You could have more hazardous conditions and the different types of things you equip help you deal with it. I'd also like to see more weapons. Maybe they're not necessarily needed to defeat an enemy, but they could help a great deal. The ball and chain needs to come back at some point, as does the spinner. Quite enjoyed using the beetle in SS. -
In fairness, I've done a few. I was a level 26 when I came to the battle. Not exactly terrible. :p I'm not a fan of them in general. Mainly because of the "formula" which seems to exist where the bosses are given more health than other enemies and are almost a grind-fest. Where you have to do certain things 3 or 4 times and gradually chip away at its health. That's not really fun. I'd rather have a cinematic and a creative battle that didn't mean you had to basically do the same thing multiple times to defeat it. It's not really just Xenoblade, tbf. It's the majority of boss battles out there. Actually, I loved Monster Hunter for the social aspect and the ability to upgrade your weapons/armour and so on. Taking down a monster together is fun, only for the humour during battle. Actually doing it in single-player is boring. That's what I mean. Sometimes the battles are out of place and don't actually serve much of a purpose. I'd rather have a good puzzle in a game than a boss battle where you have to do what I said above. (nope, I don't count the majority of bosses as puzzles) As great a game as Muramasa is, it is completely guilty of the things that I mentioned. A massive health bar for bosses, having to spend lots and lots of time just wearing it down. It's not really fun.

Ahh, done it now. Now can advance with the story! @Magnus, stfuuuuuuuuuuu. [/Rage]

I hate them. Fucking hate them in games. They were shite in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and they're shite in Xenoblade, which is where I am now, tearing my face off trying to beat Xord in the Ether Mines. I remember hating parts of Metroid Prime due to the final boss and Meta Ridley. There's nothing fun or rewarding about having to do the same shit over and over again before dying, then having to repeat the same process. I've done this boss about 20 or so times THIS EVENING and it seems to be down to luck. I've checked youtube videos and am doing exactly the same thing, yet the fucker won't die. Just kill me, please. Game is excellent up until moments like this.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I remember seeing ideas for a futuristic or steam-punk Zelda. Not sure if that idea would be suited for Zelda itself, but it would be great if Nintendo had a series that had similar ideas, but yet took places at different periods in time. So, there could be a steam-punk version of it, cyber-punk (Blade Runner-ish) and medieval, like. Zelda has always appeared quite medieval-ish to me, and I love that. So, not sure if this idea is suitable for it. Maybe for something else entirely. -
Dat music.

Happy Birthday, Sprout/Maidens.

I had no idea what was there. I thought it was just like a barbie doll and it was just all skin. When I thought about where women peed from, I went with the idea that as they sit down on the toilet that they must pee through their arse.

My Mum was terrible for this. She even went further and used to turn it over even if it was kissing. Anything more than a peck would mean the channel would get turned over and then the classic phrase, "Ohhh, they always have to ruin it, don't it?"

Watching Stoke vs. Man City. What a boring game. Whelan should have been sent off for Stoke with a bad tackle on Garcia.

Fucking hell, was not expecting those formations. Just had a look and simultaneously laughed, gasped and felt my butt-cheeks tighten. 4-2-4 AWAY from home? 5-2-3?! Insane! Lol at Inter, 2 midfielders against Eight's FIVE. Wish we could watch that in real life. Love it. Also, good game Jimbob. Only just realised that you played 5-3-2. Playing long-balls might have helped you out there.

Things that people say that wind you up

Oh yeah, those people suck! I get quite a lot of stick for it a lot of the time. Plus, I say "gr-ass" instead of graaaaaaaaaaarrrss, so get a lot of grief about it from people down here. :p Caaaaaaaaaarrrrstle? Fuck that. -
I love that feel! "Fuck it, bulking, just gimme food." Love a dirty bulk. :p Did some shoulder training the other day, sitting on an upright bench with the squat stands holding the barbell. Works really well and actually works better for me than dumbbells, since you don't have to waste loads of effort to get the weight into an upright position. Managed 42.5kg last week for 5 reps and was putting the weight onto the bar, 20kg on each side of the new barbell and was lifting it. It was on my last rep when I suddenly thought, "oh shit, that's more than I thought." Thought it was only 40kg but forgot to take into account the bar...again. 48kg. Managed to get it up to 50 for the next set but I was much more "aware" that the weight was heavier than I thought, so it was more of a struggle that time. Makes you realise just how much training is in the mind as well as the body.

Have been following the tournament, mainly through BBC's livetext. It's slow at times but better than nothing. Tried to watch the match yesterday whilst in work but our internet is so shite that I couldn't watch for more than 5 seconds at a time without it buffering for 30. Was shocked when Federer brought it back to 2-2, but think Murray deserved to win in the end. The final is going to be incredible. A massive effort by Murray should see him do it!

Sex. (I didn't put it into the title as it's a family forumz) Taught a lesson on stained glass windows the other day, including a window that featured the Virgin Mary. Got the inevitable question, "what's a virgin?" Cue half of the class sniggering and the other half being confused. I remember being a kid, around 10 years old and being allowed to watch the Terminator for some reason. Didn't think my Dad had any idea what it was about, and it was on telly so he just assumed it was fine for me to watch. The sex0r scene between Kyle and Sarah made me confused. They're just kissing, right? RIGHT?! Why are they naked? I also remember looking up naughty words in the dictionary and having no idea what a vagina was. Or where it was. Mind was blown when I found out. Edit: I made a mistake in the title. Please fix, please. For great justice.

Yeees. Rules are there to be UPHELDDDDDD. -
Work was megashit. Listened to Songs for the Deaf on full blast on the drive home. Definitely changed my mood from annoyance to rage. Another good one is just to pick up a guitar and strum.

Are people that stupid? Unbelievable. I read it on the BBC Sport livetext and expected it to be along the lines of the ballboy picking up the ball, Hazard ripping it from his hands and dropping kicking him in the balls. The reality was much less amusing. It's a shame. This could harm a player's reputation. Don't really think Hazard is the thug-ish type. On a brighter note, looks like United have managed to get Zaha. Considering that most of our wingers haven't really turned it on this season, this seems like a good investment. Has buckets of potential.
-
Fucking hell, is this still being discussed? He kicked the ball. It's not even up for debate. What should be up for debate is why a ballboy refused to give the ball back to the players, when it's his bluddy job. Boasting about it on twitter beforehand just makes me feel even more sympathy for Hazard. No malice in it whatsoever. Ballboys. Wasting time. What the hell has this sport become?

I have a feeling along the same lines as you. To me, every system that has appeared since the DS (including that) has felt like some kind of experiment. In accordance with that, Nintendo are playing things by ear. They don't know if this experiment will succeed or fail. Sometimes what you want is something that is an already finished product and you know will succeed. It's a bit tiring at times to have to second-guess what Nintendo will do with system features and online gaming. Take the ability to swap game-display from TV to the WiiUpad. If that were on a 360, the feature would be system wide. On other systems, online play is a guarantee. On a Nintendo system, you pray that it'll be included, and even if it is, you're not sure under what capacity. I appreciate what they're doing with these Nintendo Directs. It's refreshing. But, if they are struggling in certain areas, then they should invest in some help. God knows that they can afford to.

Good grip, eh? You'll make a man truly happy one day. As you shake his hand when you sign some sort of business deal. Unrelated: That feel when your arse aches from squats. Getting up from a chair/toilet seat is the hardest activity of the day.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Fierce_LiNk replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It needs to be fresh, but not just in terms of the gameplay/the formula, it shouldn't come at the expense of the story-telling. In fact, if anything needs revamping, it needs to be that. I actually think the majority of the gameplay itself was good in Skyward Sword. Controls were great, how you interacted with the enemies and the puzzles was fantastic. The downsides came from the overworld/layout itself, rather than how you interacted with it. The music wasn't particularly great either. It didn't make the game memorable. There's not enough standout cut-scenes or moments that you will remember in 10 or 15 years time. A shame as there were moments of promise. Could well be. But also, it would be nice to see/hear more of people's ideas for the future of this series. It could very well be heading into a completely different direction.
