It's a nice area, isn't it? I can't wait for the sun to come back, as it usually perks up a lot of people around these parts. The gardens just generally feel a lot more vibrant, too. I wish that there were a few more shops opened up in town. Burton has closed, GAME and Gamestation have gone now. It feels a bit light at times. On the other hand, you've got the likes of Debenhams and House of Fraiser, which are just huuuuge. A bit of variety would be nice, including some more clothes shops for men.

Xpert 11 Season 26: Space to move, Space to breath, Space to win

I used to have 4 strikers in my team but found it very difficult to train them up. Personally, I think 3 strikers is optimum. One experienced older striker to bag the goals, one youngster to develop for the future and another one that's in between. Plus, it gives you more options, such as being able to play 3-5-2 and then subbing one striker for another if you're short of goals. Each to their own. I've seen teams which more than 5 strikers which is excessive to me. I didn't know we allowed dirty tricks. I've not got a preference either way, although I would be pissed if I had one pulled against me. I prefer the matches to just be about the football/the game, so not bothered if they are done away with. It's pretty harsh what's happened to your team. A proper selection headache/injury crisis. -
Shiiiit. I didn't realise the implications of this thread, that it was a battle to the death. :p I wonder what the majority of reactions are going to be like. Knowing the UK, we'll portray her as a hero.

Ah, then at least that is forgiveable. Newport Castle has no excuse. It's actually the perfect welcoming sign to the place. "Welcome to Newport. Everything has fallen apart and is in ruins." :p I'd go to Brighton first for a weekend visit. You need to visit the lanes for shopping and get something nice to eat there. London has its perks, but I prefer the character of Brighton. I'm sure Jayseven would agree, too. As for the price: It's quite expensive in places. There are your typical more expensive to live areas and going out for a meal can be pricey at times. It's not too far off London prices in all honesty. I'd go for a visit so you can judge for yourself. You got any friends there?

What the fuck?! You have no strikers now...at times, I wish expert would have a 4-6-0 formation. How come you haven't got 3 strikers? -
Here's a picture of me by the sea. It probably has been altered, although it does go through different shades of blue. Looks lovely in the summer time and still worth a visit.

I've lived in 3 main places during my lifetime. First person in my family to be born in Newport. Whilst growing up, it wasn't too bad a place. However, since leaving it and then going back over the years, it is progressively getting worse and worse. It is home to the worst Castle I have ever seen with my eyes. It takes about 30 seconds to walk through it and there is nothing of note to explain what the castle was used for or its history. Its an eyesore and no money has been spent on preserving it. The bus station was in need of redevelopment as a kid, and it hasn't changed since the day I was born. It's terrible to walk through, smells of piss the entire time and has poor lighting. It does have the Transporter Bridge, mind. and The Triforce Overall, Wales is quite shitty and I wouldn't live there again if I had a choice. Poor for jobs, dreadful for transportation, especially towards the middle of the country. Cardiff is lovely, but aside from that, never again. Next up, Brighton. I love it. Loved the place and I enjoy going back. The Pavillion and the gardens are beautiful. There was an ice-rink there during the winter months which looked fantastic. The Lanes feature a lot of small shops and restaurants, cafes, drinking places. At Christmas time, when the lights are up, it looks stunning. On the whole, it's an excellent place to visit and I would love to live there again. The only downside is that a lot of my friends have left since going to Uni there, but there are some that still remain. Currently, I'm living in Bournemouth. I'm fond of the place. There's the lovely central gardens which runs right the middle of town to the beach. You can walk up the cliffs and get an awesome view of the beach and the sea. There's also a ton of smaller beaches scattered around the place, including one of my favourite ones at Highcliffe Castle. Right outside of our house, we get a view of the Upper Gardens, which is probably the best view I've ever had. Unfortunately, it's been raining/snowing/cold/miserable for most of the time, but during the summer months it can look outstanding. In general, it's probably the most beautiful part of the world I've lived in. Luckily, it also doesn't seem to be too far away from other places. Southampton is nearby, as is Salisbury. Bath and London are also not terribly far away if you wanted something different. I'm a fan of the area and as times passed I am appreciating it more and more.

Arsenal should get 4th now. Spurs are blowing it. Although, I'd love it if Everton came in and beat you both to it. It won't happen now, a few bad results have put them out of it.

Good work, Team N-E. Ine beat me in squash today. We played the day before yesterday, after pull day, and I was shiiit. Still just about managed to win. Played again today, I played about a hundred times better than I did before, and lost...this makes no sense. Legs today. If I have the energy.

Those last four games of yours are tough. Only thing you can do is put out your strongest team every game and go bezerk with the win bonuses/form training. Otherwise, just play your youth to get the DVs as high as they can go. You've still got a chance, although it is very slim. I've got Seahawks in the next game. I'll probably lose that now... -
Happy Birthday, Bard!

Watching it right now. Would be hilarious to see that on the Virtual Console.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen
Fierce_LiNk replied to gaggle64's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Whilst this is/was all true, those feelings were had when the game was still in a stage of turning out good. Or, even better than that, it looked excellent. I have no doubt in my mind that had this game been better received, it would have seen a release on the WiiU. The franchise in general is being dragged through the mud. The films themselves (anything after Alien3) are pretty terrible (those AvP films...yuck). AvP3 (the game) was rushed and had lots of problems. It's a shame, because had this game turned out like it was initially promised, it would have reinvigorated the series. -

The middle league is a proper mess. :p I've gone from potentially being relegated to promotion contender in one win. Now I don't know what the fuck to do. If I just put our weaker teams to get my DVs up, I'll get pumped and could potentially still go down, if Coloccini wins all of his games. If I put out my normal teams, I could finish top 3, which isn't what I want because I'll get rammed up the arse next year. It's the race for fourth place all over again. FOURTH PLACE, WE COMIN' FOR YOU, NIGGA! -

Gearbox have certainly gone down in my estimation with the way that they have handled this. Sega, too. Disgraceful really. From what I know, the game was meant to be released last month. So, how has it gone from being released for the WiiU, to not being ready in time, to just cancelling it altogether? A right mess, it is. Still can't believe how monumentally this has failed. Not sure if we'll see anything like this happen again. -
Workouts this week have been good. Pull day, today. Deadlifted 125kg for 2 reps. Can't get any more out of it. I'm sweating like a pig...think that's enough deadlifting for today. Rowing time.

4-0 to Bob. 3 free kicks. Don't let me down, Bobby. -
Herrroo! The Eenoo and I are looking into the idea of buying a brand new television, as our current one is quite small. We have a TV unit in our flat and the maximum size tv that can fit in there is about 40inches. Anything above that, and it won't fit in the unit. (damn IKEA) We've had a little look around and there's some good LED tvs in the region of £300-400. However, the problem is that if we wanted to get a TV with 3D capabilities, it would cost considerably more. Here's the dilemma: We're not sure just how much of a damn we give about the whole 3D notion. We can't tell if it is something that is really "essential", since we rarely ever will watch a film in 3D. Part of me is thinking it might be useful to have it, futureproof and all that. But, it's a lot more money to pay on something that we might not even use. So, advice, please. Is it worth having a 3DTV or are we better off going for an LED tv without it being 3D-ified?

LucasArts shut down, Star Wars 1313 cancelled

Good God, Pod Racer was spectacular. The sense of speed in that game was immense. How we never got a proper sequel to that game, I will never know. -
It does ask for your income, so it covers itself in that regard. But yes, I was expecting it to at least ask what area or field you worked in. Ah, we both thought you meant the thread, not the subject matter. I wouldn't really say it was "pointless", as there are points that can be made about it, be it positive or negative. It's similar to these surveys that ask you what social group you belong to, as if you have to fit into one social group. A person might have traits from several class groups, so in a way it does seem like "putting somebody into a box".
-
Yeah. It's not intended to annoy anybody. I was curious where I "belonged" in the system, so I thought others might want to have a look at it. As for the system itself, going back to what @gaggle64 said, it seems to make more sense than the previous 3-tier system.

I reckon the majority of their stats and recorded footage will date back to the start of the Premier League era. They'll have stats and some footage before then, but it won't be as extensive and detailed as it has been for the last decade or so. These days they can tell you everything, I'm pretty sure nobody cared about George Best's pass completion percentage when he was playing.

I think it's fair, purely because the house would get counted as an asset of yours (I think). It's difficult to gain property at the moment, so you'd need a fair bit of cash to acquire it. (or, in your case, inherit it. Which is probably the likeliest possibility for a lot of people who want a house but can't afford to get one)

Pretty much this. I respect Thatcher and Madonna for both getting to the top of their fields. Madonna is a master/mistress (?) at re-inventing herself, keeping herself somewhat relevant. Not an easy thing to do. I don't agree with Thatcher as a Prime Minister, but it has to be respected that she managed to acquire that job. There's an argument that Oprah Winfrey could be considered in the same league as the two.
