I was running short on clothes because my arse is getting fat, so took the Ine off to West Quay and dragged her around the shops. I tried on lots of clothes. Each time, Ine follows me into the changing rooms and stands directly outside of the curtain where I am getting changed. Nobody said it was bad. From what I know, most men don't give a toss if there's women waiting around. Ine decides she wants to try on clothes. I follow her into the changing rooms, stand outside of the curtain (as she did for me), only to get told by one of the female workers, "sorry, we don't allow MEN in here." I waited outside, had no idea if the top she bought was any good or not as I didn't GET A CHANCE TO SEE ITTTT. Generally, in women's stores, they seem to be quite picky about men even being in there, like we are all sexual perverts who want to pry on women as they are changing. In men's stores, like I said, nobody seems to care. Is there a bit of injustice here, or is it just polite to stand outside? Are there any other instances similar to this?

It was a long shot, but Everton probably don't have a chance of 4th place now. It's a shame, I'd like to see them there. They're consistently a well performing team. All they need is for their chairman to dip into his pockets and allow Moyes some decent funds to work with. If they had Liverpool's budget, they'd be challenging for the top 4, guaranteed. They'd be in it.

The reason I chose those weights is because you'll be able to expand on it. You won't just be stuck with a set of 2kg dumbbells. The problem with the dumbbell tree is that you'll quickly out-grow those weights. 2kg isn't an awful lot of resistance. Plus, you'll need even more space to house it. Whereas the plates can be stacked and tucked under the bed or something. This is my bench. I'm a very, very big fan of it. I didn't like it at first, as it seemed quite complex to use, as it did seem fiddly being able to work out how to adjust it (it seemed like a puzzle), but you'll get it before long. Using that bench, I can hit flat, incline and decline bench presses. There's some weird things you can do with it that you'll probably never use, but for the basics, it's excellent. A good build quality. It's risen in price since I bought it. However, at that price, I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that's better and for cheaper. The one downside is that you can't hit a perfect 90 degree angle/upright angle. It's 70degrees or so, or close to 80. Shouldn't really be a problem, but for perfectionists who are particularly about dumbbell shoulder presses, it's not entirely perfect. I still use it for that reason, but it's probably the only thing I can nitpick.

Those are dire weights, dude. Don't go anywhere near them. This is only a tenner cheaper but is better. If you can afford it, this would be excellent. It's a lot of money, though and if you're doing all of this stuff at the gym anyway, it might be unnecessary. As for what you can do: In short, lots. You can do a lot more if you had a bench, such as dumbbell bench presses, barbell bench, tricep extension/skull-crushers, chest flies. Without it, you can do a fair bit of shoulder work, such as a standing military press, front raises, side raises, then other stuff such as bicep curls, rows. Also, the reason I chose those weights are because it's a good starter kit, plus you can expand on it and add to it, buy more weights, etc. You could also do the same with Olympic Weights, but I imagine it'll cost more. For an at-home supplementary set of weights, that's roughly what you should be looking at. It'll last.

Idon'twanttoliveonthisplanetanymore.jpeg How insensitive and how...prickish. God didn't send the bombs. PEOPLE did this. To each other. We are a terrible species.

CNN are reporting that an 8 year old boy is amongst the dead. 134 injured people. 17 critically injured. 25 in serious condition. At least 8 of the victims are children.

That's the image I was referring to earlier. I wouldn't post it here. It's a bit too graphic. http://bcove.me/qwi5k6ap A video with sound of the explosions taking place. You can clearly hear and see both explosions, just seconds apart.

I've heard that several families of Sandy Hook victims were there. That part seems legit. Could just be a very, very unfortunate coincidence. But, you just never know with this sort of thing. London Marathon this weekend. I imagine security will be upped significantly.

Lots of people appear to be saying different things. Some reports are saying that the JFK Library incident was an electrical fire. A picture of the police in New York's Times Square.
-
I read that story earlier today, as well as another story of 3 kids being found dead in a house, and their pregnant Mother found dead in a multi-storey car park. What is wrong with the World? Just seen an image of a guy with half of his leg missing. Reports of people losing their limbs. Death toll is expected to rise. News of a controlled explosion outside of the JFK Library in Boston. New York also being put on high alert.
-
As creepy as that is, it's probably just somebody watching the race? Or security, or something. But yeah, creepy as hell.
-
New York post say that 12 dead. BBC News just saying that 2 are dead with 22 injured. Fuck.

Enjoy eet, Raineeng. I'm admiring your plural of squat racks, there. I've never been to a gym with more than one squat rack. Never been to a gym that has more than one bench press area either (bench and rack). I'm tiiiired. Squashed again today with the Ine. The heating must have been on because we were both dying in there. So fucking hot. I could barely stand by the end of it. I think I lost the very last 8 points in a row, just because I was swinging aimlessly and trying to stand up. Today is pull day. Push day took a lot out of me yesterday and squash today has killed me. The chances of pull day being moved to tomorrow are high. I'll see how I feel after tea.

@Debug Mode, you win at life. Good work, man. A job is a job. There's about a dozen things in life that should come before it. If you can get a job doing the thing you love, then good work. If not, then it's not the end of everything. Don't be a slave to the wage.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

No Surface All Feeling by Manic Street Preachers. I have such awesome memories of this song. I remember renting this album from our local library (they had an awesome system back then) and remember being so impressed that I went out and bought it soon afterwards. This one track ties in so nicely with the beginning of the album (it's the last track), you could listen to it on a loop. The song itself is beautiful. Dat guitar, dat intro. So many amazing songs on that one album. Australia, Everything Must Go, A Design for Life, Kevin Carter, Elvis Impersonator, and the rest. I remember buying Gold Against The Soul not too long after this and thinking "holy shit, there's more of this good stuff?" Then, This Is My Truth (tell me yours), then Generation Terrorists until I came to the Holy Bible. Fantastic stuff. Lifeblood was one of my favourite albums when I was in 6th form. My best memory throughout all of high school is where me and some good mates decided to go and see the Manics in Cardiff. Two of us bunked off work to go and do it, and even to today it is one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Probably the best. In terms of atmosphere, songs, stage presence, everything. Favourite song off that album. :'( -
Di Canio, hahahahaah. What a winner.

I'm looking forward to seeing that highlights of that tonight. Our game against Stoke was a bit shit to watch. The ball spent more time in the air than on the ground. Didn't play all that well, but played well enough to deserve the win. Glad to see Carrick get a goal.

The first thing you need to look at is your diet if you want to bulk out. Is there a lot of protein in your diet? You want to incorporate eggs, milk, chicken and some fish in your diet. I also eat quite a bit of quorn and yoghurt. When I was at uni, my weight was around 9stone. Now, I'm at least 3 stone heavier, probably 4, although I am coming off a bulk. You've met me, you know I'm a short arse. The diet is the first thing. You'll need to address that, as without that you're losing the battle before you even start working out. There's plenty of advice you can get off the net these days. I'm a big fan of porridge so I have that as a breakfast if I have time (although I've been slacking on that lately). You'll need a decent supply of carbs, too. Important, as that's where you're getting your energy from.

Britain - Most Violent Place in Europe
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I've taken this off another forum, and just noticed that this article was made in 2009. So, it's old, but I doubt the statistics would have changed dramatically in 3 years. This is quite interesting, UK Crime Stats and Crime Stats for England and Wales. It seems to show a trend in that second link that the number of reported crimes are falling. -
Britain - Most Violent Place in Europe

Pretty much. It's a thinly veiled attack on the previous government. "oh noes, how could those Labour ruffians let the country get so bad, tsk tsk." -
Good luck, Monkeeeey.

I feel dirty posting this as the source is the Daily Mail.. Do bear in mind that the article is from 2009, so it's not the most up to date. - The UK has the second highest overall crime rate in the EU. - It has a higher homicide rate than most of our western European neighbours, including France, Germany, Italy and Spain. - The UK has the fifth highest robbery rate in the EU. - It has the fourth highest burglary rate and the highest absolute number of burglaries in the EU, with double the number of offences than recorded in Germany and France. The article does seem somewhat unfair, as it's adding England, Scotland, Wales and presumably Ireland into those statistics and comparing them to countries such as the Netherlands. But, nevertheless, it's interesting.
