  1. I've not followed this direct too closely, but I'm going to talk about the things that I do know were confirmed/not confirmed. First of all, Ridley being semi-playable. A classic Nintendo half-measure. Why not just make him fully playable as a character? If they've gone to the effect of putting him in there, why not go the extra mile and put him in full stop? So infuriating because he looks fucking awesome. I'm happy that he's there, but also so bitter. Secondly, voice chat. Previously before owning a non-Nintendo system that wasn't by SEGA, I didn't used to care about voice chat. However, I find it essential now for multiplayer. Battlefield 4 is absolutely essential for voice chat, especially when doing 32vs32 player matches and just for identifying where your team mates are or what the plan is going to be. @kav82, @Sexual Chocolate will all vouch for this. Blade and Kav, remember that last game I played with you both a while back where we defended that base, where we stuck together as a team and took out the opponent's squads one-by-one? That was a classic game, probably the best I played on Battlefield4. Yesterday and for most of this week, we've been playing FIFA15 Pro Clubs. You can have up to 11 on one side and can go against another 11, totally made up of human players. We haven't managed to get 11 from here, but we've had 6 of us N-Europeans, there's potential to have more. Trying to organise the team and direct your friends is much easier with voice chat. It just makes the online experience more human. Otherwise, you may as well be playing against a CPU because there's no real way of enjoying the experience on that human level. Somebody made that comparison before where you go to a restaurant with a friend or lover and you can't talk to them. Absolutely spot on. I want to talk to people from here whilst we're gaming. The Mario Kart experience has been so sterile due to the lack of proper chat during the game, which has in turn made me want to play it less. I want to be able to rub it in when I pull off an awesome move and I want to hear people from here laugh when I inevitably fuck up. Even then, wouldn't it just be more fun to talk about general life whilst you're playing? I'm not surprised that it's not included, but I'm also hopeful that the game itself will run smooth. It has to. Imagine if they didn't add in the voice chat and it STILL ran as laggy as Brawl did, which was absolutely terrible online. I don't know the technical ins and outs (nor do I really care). From an end-user point of view, a gamer, it's disappointing that the feature isn't there. (if only the voice chat was available at an OS level...we'd never have to ask which games support it and which ones don't ever again. )
  2. Damn, @Aneres11. I could have sworn that I didn't see ALIEN: ISOLATION in that list of things you wanted to purchase. I'm going to assume you thought it was obvious that you were getting it so just left it out.
  3. Just a thought, you might want to contact @EEVILMURRAY. He's getting a PS4 through his work with FIFA. He could help you?
  4. I must be missing something with the stamps because I don't see how they are in any way better than the trophies/achievements systems that are already in place. The trophy system in particular is great, imo. For many reasons: Virtually every game supports it. I've yet to come across a game on the PS4 that doesn't. The opposite to the sticker achievements where the majority of games don't support it. It is made absolutely clear how to earn the trophies and you have a list of the things that you need to do to achieve them. The tier system of trophies means that everybody and anybody can earn at least some of them, with bronze being the easiest and platinum being the hardest. The platinum is quite old school and you actually then know that you have "completed" the game 100%. A throw-back to part of my childhood where we used to aim to 100% games all of the time and help each other to do so. It's easy to know which trophies you have already got thanks to the lists. You can compare trophies with your friends and see which ones you have in comparison to them. The "trophy" count is easy to see, so you can identify very quickly how many platinums you have collected, how many golds, silvers and bronze trophies. You get a notification every time you earn a trophy and the notification section on the PSN tells you exactly what you earned it for and when. All of your trophies are added together to give you a level. You instantly know what level you are and can compare this to your friends. Even though I am by no means a trophy hunter, I can instantly see why it's such a good system. It's well thought out, it works and it's already there. With the stamps, we are talking about why it could be a good thing if certain things were implemented, but it's currently not there. There's a LOT of work that needs to be done to make it a great system.
  5. The Link one looks very poor because the colour of the analogue sticks, X and Y buttons is too jarring in comparison to the colour of the controller itself. In fact, that goes for all of the them except the DK "shit brown" controller.
  6. I forgot which board we were on and realised I don't actually mod this one, so I cannae move the posts. Aw well. The thread is up and active anyway, so we can just keep this for the Bayonetta talk. Important question: Can you solely use the Pro Controller for Bayonetta 1 and 2 or do you HAVE to use the GamePad?
  7. I really enjoyed episode 2, although the ending made me feel pretty queasy. I think I dwelled on it far too much. Can't wait for next week. I wish the whole lot was done already so I can just binge on it.
  8. Tbh, I don't think we should even be thinking about the next console at all. They should have had all of this stuff figured out and gone in hard with the WiiU with this sticker system. Also, I agree totally about it being stickers instead of stamps. Even the association of both of those words conjures up certain images. "Want to see my stamp collection?" "How old are you? 60? Who teh fuck collects stamps?" "Want to see my sticker book?" "Hnnnnnng, shiny stickers." Just changing that one word alters so much. Anyway, at least now I know what this is, even if it does sound pretty lame at the moment. Let's hope that they fix it and actually make it worth while. Sticker books and some sort of way of being able to view your own/your friend's albums is absolutely essential. I'm constantly checking people's trophies on the PS4 and comparing them to mine...I'm still a newb.
  9. Into the league below we goooo. There's a noticeable step up from the league we were in previously to the one we were just in. The AI were a lot tougher and the defences were so much harder to break down. I don't know what it is exactly, but the AI defence for the opposition always seems so much more tougher than ours. I wonder if there's a way we can fix that. On a positive note, we looked better in the final two games and I enjoyed going up front. Glad to have my first goal at last! Still really enjoying the game. I think we've got a good team but are probably in need of two extra players to play in the left and right back slots, to add some extra width when attacking. If we do that, I think we're sorted.
  10. I don't really see how the trophies/achievements are meaningless and the stickers aren't. It's in fact the other way around. Also, both the trophies and achievements are system wide and every game seems to link in to it...every PS4 game that I've got up to this point (including the ones from PS+) are linked into the system. I think it's brilliant. You can see which games your friends really, really enjoyed just by looking at their trophy collection. For example, if I were to look at Dazzybee's collection, I could see that he has collected lots of trophies for X game, showing that he's got a lot of playtime out of it. There's also the competitive element because you want to outdo your friends on certain games. @drahkon is quite competitive with this, if I remember rightly. It's basically there if you are into that sorta stuff, so you at least have the choice. I enjoyed hunting for trophies when playing Watch Dogs and it did give me that extra incentive to keep going with certain minigames whereas I might have overlooked them before. Yeah, if they're going to do it, they need to do it properly. I don't understand how the system works and what exactly is the point of it whereas it's self-explanatory on the other systems. I'm also a bit confused why it wasn't there from the beginning of the WiiU, because it just seems random to start doing it now without any sort of introduction about what it is exactly. Seems half baked when it could be this great thing. Collecting stickers was part of almost all of my mates' childhood. PREMIER LEAGUE STICKER ALBUMS hnnnnnnnnnnggg.
  11. I'm just having my tea now, so may be on a tiny bit later than expected. Should be done soon, I'm trying to wolf it down. :p
  12. First post taken from another thread: Out of curiosity, which games actually support this sticker achievement system? I've got a fair few WiiU games and I'd say that the vast majority in my collection don't have any connection to this. How do you even access these stickers so you can see what you've got? Genuine questions because I thought this was just something that only 3D World supported, I didn't realise it was actually THE achievement system for the WiiU.

  14. Phwoooooar. Ine and I have been mega-jealous because of all of your Disney photos.
  15. I'll play! I'm not sure if Dazzybrah can play because he mentioned that his girlfriend is about tonight. I hope we don't struggle for goals again tonight!
  16. Aliens Infestation is a good game but it's based on Aliens. We've had many games based on Aliens over the years or have had their inspiration taken from that film, including the AvP games (number 2 in particular is really, really good). But, there's not been a game solely based on the first film. Huuuuge difference. I love the fact that I can walk down a corridor in the game and think, "oh yeah, this corridor appears in this part of the film, or that entrance looks very similar to such and such". They've really nailed the set design and atmosphere in this. You can tell that a lot of love, effort and care went into this. Infestation is great, too. Some very cool concepts based around having a limited supply of ammo and...people. Quite harsh and difficult, but in a good way. Both games should be played. I would like to try this at some point in the future. My only concern is that it probably doesn't work great in the dark, which is unfortunate because that's when I mostly play this game or these types of games.
  17. Read the reviews rather than the score, they all pretty much say the same thing. The Alien is a difficult beast and will hunt you down, making it quite challenging on the hard difficulty setting. I think another criticism was that it's quite a long game. So far, I'm loving it and I'm roughly halfway through. I'd get it. I have no idea what the XBone version is like in comparison to the PS4 or PC version, but I can't imagine that there will be that much of a difference, and if it is you'll never notice because it'll be superficial. Do eeet.
  18. Real Madrid were great tonight and the scary thing is that they could have gone ahead and scored another three in the second half if they really wanted to. Ronaldo...what a player. That was a superb goal.
  19. Alright, I'll come on in a second.
  20. @Aneres11, if you don't get Alien Isolation, I will disown you and eat all of your household biscuits whilst you are not looking. I mean it. u w0t m10-2? Drive Club isn't shitty at all. There's still areas for improvement, but the patches/updates are coming and the game will be even better than it is when the year is out. The driving is tight and very satisfying. Once the dynamic weather is added the game is going to be even more hnnnnnggggg.
  21. I've let Ine have control of the telly tonight. She's watching Honey, I blew up the baby. Hope we can get some more people on board with this game. The more players that we have, in theory the better our play should be. Would be sweet if we can get some more people on board.
  22. I'm available! Although, it looks like we'll be light on numbers. 3 of us maximum if gmac is in, too. Unless there's somebody else out there who wants to joiiiiin? I feel like a right hobo today. I've been doing my offline pro for most of today...am also growing a bit of a Fifa beard. Feelsgoodman.jpeg *strokes stubble whilst playing Fifa*
  23. Yesterday was great fun. Again, I really enjoyed it! Had to laugh at my two disallowed goals, especially that first one (the volley) where the referee brought play back for a free kick that he awarded to us. What a prick! That last team were rock solid. The cpu on their team seemed to be playing out of their skin. Was gutted we couldn't overcome them.
  24. There are one or two people on my list who are already talking about Christmas. One of my friends has dressed up his kid in a Christmas onesie. He also has had a Christmas countdown outside of his classroom for the past two weeks. Absolutely pissening.
  25. Ine's bus was late getting into the station, so I'm running a little late. Getting our tea ready now and should be all good for half past 7 or just after that.
