Actually Xmas doesn't remove the "Christ" from Christmas, since the "X" really does mean "Christ" .

I'd like to think of myself as a wise owl. Quick-witted, alert and (at least in the fictional sense) always ready and trusted to share wisdom and give advice.
-
Aw, fair enough.

Sure, there's nothing wrong with showing emotion, the majority of people would agree with that statement. However, only when that emotion is genuine, and not manufactured nor exagerrated. Emos are disliked because they are incredibly melodramatic, and hence selfish.

Playing music with my band, particularly songs which I have written myself, is a feeling which is just uncomparable, and can usually lift my spirits. The presence of good friends also tends to quell sadness and lighten my mood; particularly my best friend, who couldn't be more on the same wave-length as myself.

I'm at sixth-form college at the moment, studying Maths (Pure and Stats), Politics, English Lit. and Theology. As far as the work is concerned, I'd say I'm coping okay, although I'm definitely finding some aspects of it frustrating. Theology is easily my favourite subject I'm studying at the moment, with Maths being the source of most of my frustration. It's early days though. I'm sure the majority of people hold this view, but I've gotta say that I'm enjoying the social aspect of college much more than the academic side. I've made quite a number of friends (mostly upper-sixth) since I started in September, and so socially I feel more content than ever.

Well, I might as well throw my name in too. Indigo

Invite her over to watch a fairly short movie in the evening, preferably something not too heavy on the mind, but not too shallow either. After the movie finishes you can offer her a drink, put some nice calm music on, and then just talk and get to know each other. Chances are, during the movie, you'll have both grown much more comfortable with each other's presence, so talking will be no problem. The time will then whisk by, and before you know it it'll be fairly late. You can then offer her a lift home (if you drive), or offer to walk her (which is slightly more romantic, I must say) to the bus-stop, train-station or whereever. If she declines the offer, then you can treat that as some kind of indication. However if she agrees, then it's at least a sign she appreciates your company and feels comfortable around you.

Indigo I was registered at the Xsorbit boards under the user-name "cold_hands", if you were wondering. Congrats in advance to whoever wins, and kudos to you JonSt for your generosity.

It makes a refreshing change to see such generosity.

Yeah, same. I went for an interview for a job at a local library a week ago, which went really well, so fingers crossed I'll get it. I'm up against quite a few people though, so I can't say I'm confident they'll choose me, but there's always a chance.

Ah dammit, I totally forgot about Question Time. I usually watch it every week, but finishing for half-term on wednesday has left me somewhat out of sync.

Topics such as this seem a little premature to me. No doubt I'll buy a Revolution at some point, however when I buy it depends on a number of factors such as price-tag, games etc.

I too had my reservations about French GCSE, and for most of the course I imagined I'd do very poorly. However, when it got into year 11, instead of complaining about how annoying my French teacher was and how hopeless the languages department was at my school, I decided to just put some hard work in, and it paid dividends. I managed a high B in the end, which I was very satisfied with, considering the situation. My advice is just to stick in there and don't become discouraged or lazy. If you put the effort in, your understanding will grow much more quickly than you'd expect.

The situation in North Korea is truly saddening. It makes me feel guilty for ever taking our freedom as a liberal democracy for granted. What's all the more frustrating is that the rest of the world seem powerless to put an end to this evil.

It's probably the time of year. The days beginning to get shorter and colder definitely has some psychological effect after such a long summer. I know I tend to find myself at my most thoughtful in autumn and winter. And for me it's when I'm at my most thoughtful, when I begin to think perhaps too deeply and heavily, that I become quite subdued.

Are you kidding me? Casino Royale is shaping up to be the best Bond flick in years. From the sounds of things, they're returning to the roots of the franchise, which if you ask me is a return long-overdue. I mean, just take a look at the last few Bond movies; they portrayed Bond as more of a super-hero figure than a spy. Die Another Day was a mockery of the greatness of the early films.

I think my favourite has to be "Feeling Yourself Disintegrate". It always manages to move me.

No problem. As far as I'm concerned, the more people who discover the band, the better. I have to echo the Radiohead love too. They create the most deep and immersive pieces of music. "Motion Picture Soundtrack" has brought me to tears many times.

In my current mood I'd say Super Monkey Ball. Although it tends to change on a regular basis.

3/5 A nice image, but I think it could use some colour. I understand you're perhaps trying to create a particular effect with the b+w thing, but I just don't think it works with Yoshi. He's too much of a bright and fruity character to possibly be devoid of colour. -
I think I'm going to watch this too. I can't say I know a lot about Dylan, nor have I heard much of his music. However, having musical ambitions myself, the previews captured my imagination.
