AOE1 online play is teh sex if you dont have extreme lag like i usually do, so i tend to stick to single player =P nah i was away a while, but i'll probs stick around. =)

Yeah overheating usually happens in a pattern, like doing resource heavy processes, or having pc on for a long time. Loss of power from the psu will cut it off at any time. Or youve got corrupted ram, but it will crash at startup if thats the case.

If its random cutting off's (like NOT always after youve had your pc on a while and not gettin BSOD's) i would say thats the culprit. And Psu's aren't to expensive to replace either.

Its better for windows lettin it shut down, as someone said it does do updates and so on, and sometimes windows just needs to "clean" itself, by shutting down all the processes etc. I have my pc off more than on, its never come to any damage. And there is teh electricity bill. I would have thought having it on 24/7 would do more damange than switching it on and off. Maybe thats just me?

Yeah, found out ill be given treatment to slow down the cell growth (same thing cancer patients get) so i might end up losing my hair, gettin liver failure or something nasty like that. Its not a normal arthritus, its one thats caused through a skin condition (psoriatic arthritus) But, i think myself lucky i havent actually got cancer, and i will live through it. And if you are having "aches" at your ages you should really see a doctor, my skin doc said that its not normal for people our age to be gettin stuff like that.

Dodgy installation? Have you tried reinstalling drivers, no errors or anything there? Its either that or windows is conflicting with the drivers or something pesky. I couldnt really see all usb ports failing o.O
