It's very easy for us to say Hey Nintendo should drop their prices! but then they'd never sell any new games if people expect the prices to be dropped so drastically.
-
Surely the opposite is more likely? People are far more likely to buy a standout game in a drip feed release schedule, rather than buy in bulk all at the same time. The way Nintendo are doing it makes sense to me (though the quality is still pretty lacking).

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

I rented one item at a time, more or less after every dungeon I completed. Never ran into any issues and got to enjoy each new addition one by one. Sense of discovery intact Just because you CAN rent every item at once, doesn't mean you should. -
You really are just looking for reasons to dislike the game. In what way do they feel 'kind of weak'? They're tight and very well implemented. How do you go ranting that three moves aren't in the game when 10 seconds of experimentation will tell you they are? As for your point about "OMGZ how could Nintendo be so stupid not to have attack as a separate button press!!!!1111"... run/attack worked perfectly as one button IMO. In fact I loved the run button, made for much tighter platforming than the arbitrary analog stick method. Besides, tilt the anolog stick slightly and he'll still walk very slowly so it's not as if that functionality is completely gone.

I'd rather spend £20 on one than use up 18x worth of games for a bit of plastic. Then wait for something actually worth that number of stars.
-
Anyone else think it's a bit outrageous their star value amounts to 18 games?

Long jump, duh! However... You can use the Gamepad to flip switches!?!?!?!

Did the first chapter/area in the past hour or so, really enjoyed it as well as my first experience with the Vita, not bad. One question about the storyline though... is there a difference between us (the player helping the messenger) and the You in the Sun? Two different people, is that right? Confusing since they're both err... me!

Planning on having a final look around town tonight, then watching the end credits at Club lol. Good way to close the book as it were. Will revisit months down the line but I think now's a good time to finish. 140 hours, longest I've spent on any game. My first AC, had a blast :-)

I'll probably start this tomorrow, I've had a unopened Vita sitting on my shelf since Tearaway came out. Priority wise it's been Pikmin > W101 > Wind Waker > Zelda ALBW > Mario and now I can finally dip my toe into murky waters and actually play a non Ninty game I hear it's good though
-
1. Super Mario 3D World 2. Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3. Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 4. Pikmin 3 5. Luigi's Mansion 2 - Pokemon X, Wonderful 101 next in line. - Wind Waker HD not considered. - I've yet to start Rayman Legends or Tearaway.

Well that was as close to a perfect Mario game as we're ever likely to get Simply incredible. Champion Road finally conquered. The old strategy of turning the console off after failing 100 times, then trying again the next day with a clear head, worked a charm. Did it in 3 goes today, each time getting to the final part with ease. I now never want to see that course again!! Ditto the last Mystery box. The final showdown I thought was a little disappointing but going through it a second time I think I appreciated it a lot more. The 3D Land one was EPIC, but this one was very close, particularly at the end when you're climbing the spiral staircase. Visually it's pretty spectacular with great dramatic music as well. Really would love to see a Captain Toad DLC or 3DS eshop game. Small detail, I loved the music in the circus levels and how it gradually changed as you went through the level, till the BANG at the end. Thought it was great how if you time your jump at the top of the flagpole in time with the music you hear a round of applause Loved the end credits, simple and perfect, overflowing with the usual indescribable Nintendo charm. The NPCs waving to Mario and co as they passed by... TOO CUTE!!! (I'm a 30 year old man fgs) A masterpiece of gaming and caps off a fantastic year for Nintendo, quality wise at least. Cheers Ninty, we are not worthy

How did people manage to avoid throwing the controller out the f-ing window trying to finish the final mystery box?!?!?!?!??????!!!!?????!!!!! I've gone through it easily 100 times, with the 5th character. EDIT: Just tried Champion Road, f-off Nintendo. Died surely about 60-70 times now and can just barely get to the first green star, maybe 6 or 7 of those times. With the fifth character and the spin, which of course doesn't work when you're using an item like the leaf. No item blocks naturally or checkpoints, naturally. Not finding either level fun at all.

The "3D" part of the name is to categorise it's place as the mid-level of Mario games. "New" Super Mario Bros: 2D side-scrolling Mario "3D": 3D side-scrolling "Galaxy" et al: 3D open world-like
-
I don't get this 3D World was originally a 3DS game suggestion, why would it have originally been planned for the 3DS? New Super Mario Bros. was a DS game, they then made New Super Mario Bros Wii, was that game also destined for the DS originally?
-
I would love DLC in the form of Captain Toad levels, those are fantastic. Hell, give us a whole game of captain Toad levels please Ninty!!! Would be perfect on 3DS.

I'm really confused by how many worlds there are in this game and particularly the post-game content. I'm at world 7 which seems pretty final, but I'm pretty sure I saw an even more final looking world on GAF a while back, world 8? Then there's a special world I think, 9? Also, I'm beginning to suspect the levels don't double up like in 3D Land, there aren't enough stamps to go around again. No spoilers please, just random musings. Hope there's plenty left to do

How would you define yourself as a gamer? Allegiance wise?
Ronnie replied to flameboy's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Owned pretty much every Nintendo console + PS1, Lynx, Game Gear and Vita (for Tearaway and Wipeout). 100% in Nintendo camp, not interested in PS4 or XB1. -
I think I'm the only one that likes having a Run button. It works well IMO.

Agree with you, I'm getting a serious evil vibe from TP Zelda, oh well. I wonder if Hilda and/or Ravio will be in the 3DS Smash. The latter more likely I guess.
-
After the awesome design of worlds 1 and especially 3, worlds 4 and 5 are very bland looking in comparison.

A hundred times better than the IGN Rewind Theatre vids

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

That's sadly been lacking since Wind Waker. Dungeons have pretty much consisted of moving from one self contained puzzle room to the next, with a couple of exceptions every so often.
