  1. They just released Pokemon and Kid Icarus on the 3DS. Battalion Wars, Excite Bike and Punch Out are very niche and hardly big IPs of theirs, so that leaves Metroid, F-Zero and Star Fox. Let's see what they unveil at E3. 15 months in, you can't expect their entire IP library to be shown off already. 2013 was an amazing year to be a Nintendo fan, ok the first half for Wii U was completely barren but the second half made up for it, and 3DS had amazing releases throughout the year.
  2. I think Animal Crossing would be a pretty safe bet. They've seen how popular it is on 3DS and it suits NFC perfectly.
  3. SNES Rainbow Road is my favourite, I loved it as a retro track on MK7. SNES ghost levels are fantastic as well, hope to see some more of those but I'm not sure if they're visually interesting enough for the MK8 treatment?
  4. Can't wait to see what Rainbow Road actually looks like, should be as stunning as the rest of the game.
  5. No you have to complete EVERY level with a specific character to get their final stamp. I believe my exact words were "f**k that".
  6. But you're considering scores for Zelda and Mario games in relation to other Zelda and Mario games rather than the industry as a whole. Yes 7.5 for Skyward Sword or 8.8 for Twilight Princess may have been the right scores in the grand scheme of Zelda games, but as standalone titles, they're ridiculously low. Gamespot thrives on clickbait articles, that much is certain. GOTY for ALBW is more proof of that, even though I'm not saying it wasn't worthy of GOTY.
  7. As someone who has never really played a DK game (I still have an unopened DKCR3D on my shelf), I'm looking forward to this
  8. Nintendolife gave it a 9 as well http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/wiiu/donkey_kong_country_tropical_freeze I like the bolded part. Wii U does have some truly excellent games after 14 months.
  9. Put the game down and come back to it the next day. That worked for me. Spent a few hours on it one night, then the next day did it in 4 attempts. Use Rosalina, her spin jump will help with the 1 sec beat blocks (which are p1ss easy to complete once you figure out a strategy). Spin jump will also help to kill those critters that climb down the walls, and for the boost pad section. Use two tanooki suits.
  10. They're so much better than the IGN guys at trailer analysis. Jose at IGN seems painfully out of his depth.
  11. It's times like this that remind me just how shocked I was at the negative reaction to Nintendo's E3 presentation last year. Still am surprised by it. To get 3D Mario, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda ALBW and Pokemon all in the same presentation + Bayonetta 2 and X... that's a pretty incredible line-up.
  12. It is, it's called Wii Sports Club: Golf The Wii Sports name is 100x bigger than the "Mario Golf" name, this would sell terribly on Wii U, and so they're rightly taking advantage of the Wii Sports name
  13. Point is you can pop in a TP disk into a Wii U and play it, you can't do that with a Gamecube version of Wind Waker. Twilight Princess doesn't need any changes in terms of the gameplay, unlike Wind Waker. All they would be doing is up-resing a dated art style into HD, it would be a complete waste of time. The game isn't even that old. Nintendo themselves said that they ran some tests on TP and concluded that it didn't add much, unlike what they've done with Wind Waker.
  14. It hasn't happened again. We've got two big games coming in the first six months, last year we had none.
  15. They remade Wind Waker because the visual style was timeless and beautiful, and there were issues with the game that they could easily fix. Plus it was two generations back. It was a good choice for an HD remake. Twilight Princess doesn't need to be remade. You can play it fine on the Wii U already, the art style looks very muddy and dated and the graphics don't need upgrading.
  16. Very true, 2014 looks better with a couple of big games in the first half and probably a few more in the second half.
  17. Seems 2013 was a great year! And that's without even mentioning 3DS.
  18. Throw in Mario 3D World and Wii Fit U for 2013. That list paints a pretty clear picture, the number of 1st party games Nintendo are releasing per year have been pretty consistent since the Wii launched. Not often you get big titles like Mario Kart and Smash Brothers (and who knows what else) in the same year.
  19. I fast-forwarded past that X gameplay, so boring. The combat looked terrible. The game's not for me I don't think, similar to Monster Hunter and the usual RPGs.
  20. Next-gen Super Mario Kart. Amazing
  21. They can't just magically create new bits of AAA software to show off every two months.
  22. Yep with 22 days to spare unless you go by an 8 year old's way of looking at the seasons
  23. This x1000, 'games coming out in Spring', that says it all. There's still another two Directs to come and then a little thing called E3. And yet we're back to 'fcuk you Nintendo' ? Shame no Majora's Mask announcement though but ALBW is still fairly new so they may not want to step on its toes.
