  1. I do agree that both Mario and Zelda at launch is a bit overkill. I'd be more than happy with Zelda and Luigi's Mansion. Those two on their own would trump most console launches, both Nintendo or otherwise. Could be an incredible output with just the one platform to develop for, here's hoping.
  2. The clamour for a remastered trilogy is enormous, 1080p, 60FPS, all the DLC. If NX gets that as an exclusive it would be a big deal, and then presumably Andromeda to follow.
  3. I'm the same, and was about to give up hope and just play Mass Effect 1 and 2 on PC with mouse and keyboard, but if this rumour does turn out to be true it'd be amazing and if the remaster is exclusive to NX, even more so for the console.
  4. Mass Effect trilogy? A two gen old port or a remaster? I can't believe it's the latter as EA have very clearly said it's not going to happen and the former seems a bit pointless given how old the games are. As for Luigi's Mansion, that was rumoured/leaked last month http://dualpixels.com/2016/03/14/rumor-luigis-mansion-on-nintendo-nx-details/
  5. That's the first time I've posted that particular vid I believe. The other one was about 3D World's level design. But thanks, I've seen the Darkest Dungeon one, you're right it's a brilliant series, highly recommended.
  6. I could listen to this guy analyse Nintendo's level design all day.
  7. There's a very big difference between 'not enjoying' and 'hating'.
  8. It's not a silly comment, because I didn't actually say he hated Nintendo, or anything even approaching that.
  9. Awesome wasn't it! I loved collecting all the trophies for the main plaza. Brilliant game
  10. Sorry, I should have said a recent Nintendo game, not one from 20 years ago. I never suggested you hated Nintendo, I just suspect you don't enjoy their games all that much and if you do, certainly don't convey it with any conviction. But hey, who am I to judge, your call obv
  11. I was just hoping to finally see you say the words "I enjoyed a Nintendo game", without any caveats or damning with faint praise.
  12. DK's Crash Course is still my favourite, but the vast majority of the games are great Your problem with the game is you wanted DLC, so presumably you actually enjoyed the game?
  13. 3D Mario and Zelda at launch by themselves would be better than pretty much any console launch ever. + the rest of what you mention...
  14. I remember being gobsmacked a few months ago when I found out PS4 charges you for online. I genuinely had no idea. Makes Nintendo's (admittedly more limited) offerings nice in comparison. Would I pay depends on what they offered but I suspect not, online gaming just isn't that big a deal for me. Certainly not enough to actually pay for the privilege.
  15. Zelda, Smash, Splatoon and Mario Maker being ported to NX would make a lot of sense. The latter three are too good to be stranded on Wii U.
  16. This game is looking better and better each time we see it!
  17. I'm sort of on the fence but I tend to agree with with kav, I think I'd prefer either no voice acting or Hylian/gibberish voice acting.
  18. Great ad, and that two headed dragon boss looks cool!
  19. How high on the arrogance scale was it? With 0 being them developing their own designed games and 10 being PlayStation telling us we'd all get a second job to buy a PS3.
  20. Ok then, there aren't lots of shooters in the AAA industry, my mistake.
  21. You say this... Then go on to post this... lol. As much bollocks as saying the Wii U only has 2d platformers. When I say flooded with shooters, I mean the biggest games on the platform are all fps: Fallout 4, Destiny, MGSV, The Division, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Battlefront, Rainbow 6 etc etc
  22. Stumbled on this trippy rainbow chest on the first floor, which gave me about 7 or 8 amazing bits of loot including some incredibly powerful guns. Still didn't manage to go all the way though
  23. Yep Ratchet and Clank is a good example of a cheap (probably) great game. I didn't say Nintendo are the only ones who can do it ffs. I thought I'd compare flagship titles, the three biggest Wii U games with three big hitting PS4 games. Look I really don't think it's that controversial a statement to make, Nintendo AAA games have smaller budgets than the majority of AAA games out there. Nintendo are good at making brilliant games with a smaller budget. They're shit on every day on here for the most minor of things, how about people give them that at least? Conversely gamers expect the PS4/XBO to output these breathtaking cinematic worlds to play in, and so the budgets have to match that scope. Dead Space 3 had to sell 5 million copies for the IP to continue, MGSV had to sell 5-6 million to break even, Tomb Raider sold 3 million in it's first month, but it wasn't enough to turn a profit. Studios are closing down left right and centre because games aren't making enough money to justify the enormous cost of developing games these days. The point is, there are no must play (SMB, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time style) VR games at the dawn of this new gaming era, and that's a shame. You don't need a huge budget to make a great game and so that excuse doesn't apply. What's surprising is that in an industry flooded with shooters, there don't even seem to be any of those.
  24. I suspect Splatoon, Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 cost slightly less than The Division, Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne.
