  1. I'm a big Natalie Portman fan and generally like any movie she's in. I managed 15 minutes of Black Swan before turning it off. It may well have gotten better but for the 15 minutes I watches, it felt like pretentious bullshit.
  2. What you've heard is a direct result of the hype.
  3. It all looks good apart from the Easyjet plane I hate Easyjet.
  4. It's always been a pet peeve of mine but to be honest I didn't give it much thought until I heard it on Talksport. It's just so unprofessional, I suppose it's all down to the culture of football.
  5. What's wrong with that? He's a grown man, not a 10 year old. He's a professional football manager not a stand up comedian. Fair enough if it's a terrible question that is only trying to stir up shit but it's not with Dalglish, it's always a neutral comment he has to act like a clown with. One of the reasons managers are required by the FA to speak after games is so that the fans can get some insight into his view of things or why he did things he did, not a smug little prick who had his favourite toy stolen.
  6. I was waiting for this It's nothing to do with any alleged bias against Liverpool, it's down to Dalglish being a spoilt little brat, he's always been that way, even at Blackburn. I've lost count the amount of times he's been asked a simple, general question by a journalist not looking for any scandal or sensational headline and either refused to answer it or replied with a smarmy or sarcastic answer. Liverpool fans aren't treated any different. Of course they'd be in the media more when their club is the centre of such a big event as they were. No different than it was for Chelsea when Terry's extra curricular activities with Wayne Bridge's Mrs came out or for Man City when Tevez became a Grade A cunt for refusing to take his bib off in Germany.
  7. Homeword Bound is fucking awesome.
  8. Lana Del Rey. I've felt like I've know everything about her through the media, even though I've hadn't heard any of her music until yesterday. I'm left feeling underwhelmed, I don't know why but I expected something more. She's been built up to be the best thing since they thought about slicing bread and I don't get it. Is it just the media going silly?
  9. There was a good debate on Talksport earlier in the week about Managers and their after match press conferences. They were talking about Wenger getting asked questions that journalists wouldn't dare ask people like Fergie because they know Wenger will always give some form of civilised answer. They did mention Redknapp as another who is pretty decent after games. They were scathing in their view of Dalglish and Fergie, who'll only talk properly of they win. It was less about Fergie than Dalglish, who can act like a complete immature little cunt if his team is beaten or he think a referee got a decision wrong. I appreciate no one wants to be asked difficult questions after they lose, but it's a professional job and the fans who spent their hard earned money have a right to be a shown a little respect by their manager and they'd do well to remember that sometimes. It doesn't happen in other sports, only football.
  10. Walker and Richards have both played under Capello, I wasn't referring to the latest 11. The less said about your Andy Carroll selection the better. What you've said about Bent could be applied to Defoe, he's not a skillfull player, he's a greedy bastard, who often passes up an obvious goal for personal glory himself. If you're going on who has scored the most goals of English strikers, next to Rooney and Sturridge, it's Bent. You could pick Defoe as the 4th but you'd have 4 players of similar build, and the English love a target man. Why is Walcott in the line up? to play wide and provide assists. Oh look, which English player has the most assists in the Premiership? why it's Theo Walcott. Who incidentally is equal with your beloved Gareth Bale. I'm guessing Dawson and King should both be Centre Backs? Pipe down, Terry is still a first pick, prick or not.
  11. I've no problem with him, other than the obvious. It's hardly inept. You're spinning things to suit your argument. You're hardly a good man-manager if it only works for certain players, the whole point is being able to get things out of players that haven't performed in the past or haven't had much of a chance. Again you keep banging on about the football Tottenham play, is that with 11 men? is it total football? I must be missing the revolution every time I watch Spurs. No one is arguing that they aren't playing well, but keep your trouser tent pitched, it's hardly groundbreaking stuff. So who is better than the players Capello has picked? without naming everyone. Hart - Best English Keeper. Cole - Best Left Back. Terry - Personal feelings aside, he might not be at his former best, he's still a first choice. Richards - Not a massive pick of Right Backs, but he's done well. Wilshere/Gerrard/Lampard/Parker -Perhaps Tom Huddlesone? Jake Livermore? Rooney - Again, who's better? And you're foolish enough to consider Bent not getting a look in as good, he's one of the best English goal getters there is. Hardly coincidence that he didn't fit too well with Harry and his 'man management' skill at Spurs. Still, he was your top scorer in 08/09. So who are all these great players Fabio hasn't called up?
  12. He'll pick the same 'great' squad as Capello did, the best English players. You're theorizing that it will all work out rosy as you're in love with Harry but it could easily turn out to be as successful as his spell at Southampton was. His 'man-management; is great for players like King and Parker etc I bet Pavlyuchenko and Kranjcar don't share that same theory.
  13. I'd agree that at the moment Redknapp is probably the best man for the job but his record isn't exactly sterling, he's won fuck all and before Spurs he barely managed side capable of a top 10 finish in the premiership, not exactly the normal fit for an England manager. Then again, perhaps that's what they need, something different.
  14. He'd probably own the Denver Broncos if it weren't for NFL rules disallowing team owners from owning any other sporting franchise in the same state. (He already owns the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets). Still, with the other 3 quality teams he owns, the Rams were a bit of a dud on his part
  15. Nice to see the Patriots going again, but fuck me the Rams? consistently one of the worst sides in the NFL over the last 5 years. All the worse now they've signed a deal to return for the London series.
  16. There hasn't been a better centre back this season than Koscielny. Bias or no bias, he's been different class.
  17. Is it a coincidence that all these footballers you seem to appreciate all happen to play for Tottenham?
  18. Murrayfield is such a shit stadium for shows though, so horribly designed and laid out. If you've never been before and you've got standing tickets, it can be an adventure getting onto the pitch.
  19. I actually googled this to see if it was happening. Colour me disappointed to find it was only a birthday thread Happy Birthday though.
  20. So there's gonna be a TV show (Pilot at least) about Green Arrow. I'm aware Smallville divided people on here but I personally liked it. GA will be made by different people but it's going to be on the same network, so no doubt it won't me a million miles away from Smallville. As is the norm with these TV Shows that are linked to previous ones, the producers will probably go out their way to try and distance it from Smallville. This is the guy they've supposedly cast to play the jolly archer himself: His name is Stephen Amell and that's about as much as I know about him. It's being filmed in Vancouver (same place as Smallville and millions of other TV Shows) and I believe it's going to be called Arrow. Green Arrow has always been one of my favoured superheroes (I've always preferred Robin Hood in leather), so i'm eagerly anticipating it.
  21. Shouldn't really, unless you're the one hosting the match. I failed spectactularly in my quest to start the single player over the weekend but as I type this i've just stuck it in the disc drive and am about to begin my adventure. EDIT Just finished chapter 4. YES
  22. You pan Nickelback yet like Foreigner? Hmm.
  23. I detest everything about Evra, he's rotten to the core but it's hard to name a better left back in the Premiership.
  24. Scott Parker appears to be a popular mention but he's not established enough in the first 11. I can't think of a single player who'd be a great captain who is a guaranteed pick if everyone's fit. Without Terry, You've maybe only got Rooney, Cole and Hart who are guaranteed to be in the starting eleven. You could say Gerrard or Lampard but they might not play with Parker and Wilshere fit, you can't play them all.
