  1. I just read the IGN review - it sounds disappointing, but like it says at the end, you either need this game or you dont. Im pretty sure I do. I can deal with the old skoolness of it all but its still a crying shame that both screens werent used! Still, having not played later Final Fantasies, this should be great... anyone already said when its due in Europe?
  2. Aye, Majora's Mask is my favourite Zelda game... Its difficult to choose between these games though. You play em and enjoy them all for what they are. I mean, Wind Waker is a great game but Ocarina o' Time is perhaps the best game ever. (I wish I could just figure out what to do in the first Zelda game!)
  3. Sounds great Twilight, we can like eat cake and stuff! Any other 26th-ers going about? If not were gonna have to make a breakaway forum and everything just for our elite! Ninjas are cool, mullets are not. Ninja_mullet's sig isnt to shabby though... its a dilemma... LFC will do well to get the League Cup this year... they better prove me wrong though, Dirky Kuyt is masterful.
  4. Yeah I guessed that you were FieldsofAnfieldRoad. Thanks for the words o' encouragement, but its tough at times to judge the club on anything else apart from present form. Hopefully things'll come good, hopefully.
  5. I recognise you as another one of them people with a Zelda type name and set up. Not a bad thing... and I wouldnt really like to not see old Twilight floating about anymore... not that I know the first thing about you like! But I do recognise you as one of the familiar names going about, so dont demote yourself to being a newbie again! Id be tempted to change me name/ make a new account and see if I could get noticed more, but I doubt I will. Im happy enough with my name cos I use it for email aswell, I dont wanna change everything... or become an annoying spammy n00b! Ah, old Nando. Seeing as he wasnt quite the success we all hoped, your name is... a bit wick. But full marks for all the Liverpool support you show, even in these tough times (but when are the times not tough when youre a Pool supporter, eh? ) As for the thread starter, Mr gj15987, ok so its not the catchiest of names... but its different from all the rest and its recognisable - though I didnt know you were from Swansea til I read this thread. Change it at your own peril
  6. Ive noticed some @googlemail.coms going about but Im still just @gmail.com. Gmails snappier than googlemail anyhow.
  7. Thanks for the links, I just watched the Majora's Mask one, great stuff. What a game! I wish it had more than two files on it on the N64 cos Ive had two files that I dont want to delete saved on it for all these years... this is gonna be a Virtual Console download for me asap!
  8. Great stuff, The Dark Tower is an amazing journey... youre gonna love it! Im gonna get Liseys Story soon. Aside from that Ive got some classics waiting to be opened, Im reading l'Etranger and Ill be starting l'Immoraliste soon. Fresh Power by Jim Cymbala, anyone know it? :awesome:
  9. Voted, its 44% to 41% in the Macs favour. (I voted DS, by the way.)
  10. Dirty dirty. I think its high time this thread saw some lockage if its gonna be lowered to such depths as that- as if it being a Flaming Lips discussion wasnt enough incentive to lock it up and throw away the key
  11. Im probably not a fan of the Flaming Lips... and Im sure Im not a fan of Noel Gallagher... but still, the Flaming Lips gig sounds like it was a great night! Personally I was seeing Muse on Saturday night, and I can assure you it was far better than anything. There was great music, the trademark Muse balloons full of confetti flying around, Dom was in this amazing thing o' lights, there were screens with class effects and stuff being shown and the general lighting set up was just first class. I dont think you can top that, so ha!
  12. Thats precisely how it happens. I turned them off after a few chapters and only re-activated them from time to time if there was a new character I wanted to see in action or a boss on the go... ie Black Knight the scum. Give the game another go Pit, you cant turn away from it
  13. Im looking at MacBooks and they seem pretty expensive... whats the advantage of getting one when nowadays I could get a decent laptop at a good sub £1000 price. Or am I just not looking in the right place...?
  14. I played this last night. Its very different in a way, but it has the potential for some great matches! Liverpool have the right player names... and somehow, the bane of my Pro Evo existence has made it in too: Zinedine Zidane is in the France team...??
  15. Welcome, Lens of Truth. What a mammoth first post : peace: but I did read it all (*looks at cube_game *) I think alot/ all of what you said is right. People everywhere, not just on these forums, have displayed the full spectrum of emotions towards the Wii. Ive tried not to get overly carried away (though I was amazed at the beginning and my interest and anticipation spikes back up everytime theres a new bit of info released) but Im seeing things that could put people off in the longterm. Almost everyone will come around to the control scheme once they get a chance to test it and they might even get used to looking past the graphics - Im willing to do that cos DS is wonderful. However, will Nintendo and other companies be able to deliver on games that arent just a bunch of mini game type efforts? We have Zelda and Mario, but will there be a pile more? We need the blend, Nintendogs isnt a game I go back to much (well, ever) but it was such a joy to play and get caught up in. Feel the Magic is good, but I dont go back to it. I wouldnt trade these games in and Im not slating them, but for all the non-games we need a healthy counter balance of real games using the controller and features to the best of their imaginitive ability. What was the last great secret of the Wii? Has it been announced? Was it the speaker on the controller? The Mii's? The Wii Channels?
  16. Urgh such a difficult decision *grumbles* There are some great handheld RPGs on the go but I might have to be slightly predictable aswell and go for a Pokemon. Its a tough decision as to which one though, its either Red or Ruby though. I might go with Ruby. I completed the Pokedex in Red would you believe but Ruby has given me plenty of value for money even though its been the generation thats got bashed the most. Missing the day/ night and some of the Gold and Silver features was a shame but Hoenn was a fun place to be and breeding was good and kept me hooked... and it was freshened up in my opinion with the new Pokemon. Plus the exploration to get all the Legendaries in it and the inclusion of the braille sections was good fun too.
  17. The only thing about the controller that doesnt really stand the test of time so well is the 3D stick, well mine are all loose after so much play anyway. Apart from that I think it was a great design, not that the Cube or Snes and all are bad. The N64 one was great for the games on it: A, B and the four C buttons, they were used to their full devastating effect in Duke Nukem and ISS.
  18. Whoa chill... but yes Nintendo will have a good deal more success this gen than last As for what he said about the controller being usable more subtly - Im positive I read that Miyamoto-san said that very thing in an article a while ago. Does anyone remember it? He was talking about Wii Sports: Tennis in particular and that at over the course of time, as you get used to it, you'll be able to control it with little movements rather than big extravagant swipes, if you so choose.
  19. Glad someone agrees. Ill watch it again this week probably, but I cant see myself sticking with this for a whole series. Im just curious to see whether it continues down the same path as its begun... which it probably does
  20. I found them a reasonable length... if you stocked up on healing vials (/whatever they were called!) then you could survive most of em by just healing when you needed to
  21. But is it really necessary to include that and swearing just to try and be adult then and set itself apart from Doctor Who? Did anyone notice that it almost all seems to be set at night? ...hence the darker feeling o it all lol.
  22. Flip, an emotional rollercoaster of a thread... Tales of Heart... amazement! Cancelled... boo. Still got Tales of Sword... phew. Its now not meant to worth looking forward to... nooo!
  23. I watched the first two last night and found it... interesting. Im not sure if Ill stick with it though, they need to cut out the desperate lengths theyre going to to make it seem "mature" or whatever. I mean dont you think that stuff could easily have been cleaned up? Like, homosexual/ sex crazed aliens arent a necessity, are they?
  24. I dont think Tales of Symphonia bosses took that long either - if they were turn based Im sure it would be different. I cant mind who Abyssion is though... the water temple type boss perchance? Id agree with you all the way on the Fire Emblem point LazyBoy, if you dont do a level right and lose someone and have to restart... argh!... it made the game great though and I wouldnt change that aspect of it.
  25. How can you get it a few days early? I should be playing it on Monday evening, should be good. Should be great. Liverpool had better have good ratings... Dirk Kuyt shall rule the day and with no Zidane this game should be a sure fire winner!
