  1. Right, I can meet jayseven/Flinky/whoever else at the station and show them the way into town if needs be.
  2. I can make St. Albans relatively easily, and know it well. I'm also free on the 22nd as far as I know.
  3. Can I add Fargo to the film list? Watched it recently, and think it'd be fun to analyse. Anyhoo, I'll watch Slither and get hold of the first book soonish.
  4. Dammit, I recently got home from university and much as I need a rest, I really hate the holidays. I don't mind my family that much, though they can be a little irritating at times, but I'm away from most of my friends, am not able to spend as much time on linguistics, and am in the middle of nowhere where nothing much ever happens. And on top of that I have an evil sore throat right now. Ah well, on the upside I'm reading Chomsky's Syntactic Structures, and we have an oven here so I can cook more interesting things.
  5. Right, well Clannad 10 was a whistlestop episode, but a pretty good one. This is why you shouldn't doss about at school like Okazaki...
  6. Lol at this mixed metaphor. Nonetheless, I think IGN have something of a point.
  7. I have decided that the best solution to procrastination is procrustination - where you retrospectively decide which parts of what you were doing was work, such that you have done what you consider to be a sufficient amount.
  8. Apparently my parents have bought an artificial one this year... will take pictures once I'm in Herts.
  9. Cool, the Jamba returns - hi again. I think you know the main happenings you missed now. (i.e. not many)
  10. Okay, but I'll probably have to skip February, May, November and possibly October.
  11. Magdalene garden party? If so, that's cool, and I might well know your friend - who are they? If not, wrong person I think - as far as I can remember I only went to one such thing in May Week.
  12. 'tis mental. And that's just the station.
  13. Cycling in Cambridge: utter hell, because everyone does it. Never attempted it though.
  14. I'd be up for a book club, although I'd only have time for it in the holidays, and would like to make suggestions. Not so sure about suggesting films, but could feasibly do a movie club too. (again, in the holidays)
  15. Erm, he could easily get sacked for that - I'd complain to another teacher and use some friends as witnesses. Even though drinking weak sulphuric acid probably won't be very harmful, it's hardly a brilliant idea, and drinking anything in a laboratory is terrible practice, so forcing someone else to is a pretty bad offence. My chemistry teacher hated me too - it sucks, but you have to put up with the other stuff. Provided you know you're right, you can just sit there and feel superior. Incidentally, propanone should dissolve in water as it's fairly small and has the polar C=O bond so can form H-bonds with water molecules. Frankly, if you know that and your experiments still aren't going properly, fuck it.
  16. Actually yeah, Zach was cool, he made Claire's story more bearable. I suspect they've mind wiped him out of the show for good though. Yeah, I agree with pretty much all of that.
  17. Their explanation was "through the human genome project," which shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what the human genome project is, but let's swing with their made up version, which is something like a record of the DNA of each member of the population. So there'd still be a genetic marker for the powers, but you wouldn't necessarily know where in the body this was realised. Of course this is absolute rubbish, and they don't actually design the script to make sense or anything.
  18. Right, I'll just have to accept the quality then:
