  1. Despite my interest in Japan, I consistently forget to watch this program. As for learning Japanese, I've been doing it solo for about a year... I find it pretty fun, although it can be challenging at times.
  2. Can you do it with dots? I'm still not sure what you mean. Or alternative, tell me the number it is: 1. 0.026666666... 2. 0.026262626... 3. 0.026026026... 4. 0.026060606... Unless, of course, it's something else entirely. No.
  3. That's as maybe, but the third film ends the series in a completely different way to the manga. (and presumably the anime)
  4. Yes, any repeating sequence of numbers can be expressed as a fraction. And he may have meant 0.026666666... as well.
  5. I wanted to be an inventor. And also Willy Wonka at some stage I believe.
  6. Haha, I know a different Russian guy at Oxford... How many of them are there?
  7. I've very nearly finished my A levels- after finishing my chemistry coursework this weekend, I only have three modules left in the summer, one of which is critical thinking. I need As in biology, chemistry and maths (alrady got that last one) to go to Cambridge and do natural sciences.
  8. Hehe! "Working on an inchless waistband in a stripmall wasteland outside of this town."
  9. Well, "cartoon porn" is their word for anime. By the way Cox, did you know that Kiyohiko Azuma started off as a hentai artist?
  10. All my friends say I watch cartoon porn, apart from one. But it's not like they seriously think it.
  11. Let's cook, let's cook, I wonder what I'm going to make. Right, I'm done!
  12. I watched the new years dreams episode with my friend's dad watching once. He's never looked at me in the same way since.
  13. Umm... water and hydrocarbons are covalently bonded. Wait, now I look at it, I think you've got ionic and covalent the wrong way round (and yes, potassium nitrate is a white ionic solid). So you can use Letty's covalent examples for ionic, and for covalent, you can go for water or pretty much any organic molecule, ranging from hydrocarbons to arenes to proteins. As for metallic bonding, go for any metal (left of the staircase on the periodic table)- platinum, calcium, mercury, caesium, iron, aluminium etc.
  14. Higurashi isn't that funny, but it is awesome. Plus you have to love lines like "Kuso....... nano desu!"
  15. Write it in Japanese- 1 word per sentence.
  16. I can't believe I forgot that. It's an awesome anime... Providing you have a sense of humour.
  17. My favourite anime are Higurashi no naku koro ni, Welcome to the NHK, Mai-HiME and Honey & Clover. Hikaru no go is also quite good, but I doubt you'd be interested if you aren't obsessed with the game of go, because that's all it's about. However, I think Mai-HiME would be good as a general introduction to anime, as it uses anime cliches well. Unless of course you want to see the greats first, in which case look at things like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist and the like.
  18. I have a really good strawberry ice cream recipe that involves strawberries, cream, and an ice cream machine (alternatively a fridge and lots of work, or liquid nitrogen). I'll post it later.
  19. Hmm, as for games genres, I don't like: shooters, racing games. I am lukewarm about: Platformers, action-adventures. I love: Japanese turn-based RPGs, visual novels. So I suppose that means that I mainly play games for the story.
