...sorry to hear that Haggis. Anyway, for once my day's been pretty awful. I've had solid work since last Saturday, so even though I had no lectures, I got up at 10 and tried to work on my presentation... which took ages. I was exhausted from working so much, practically falling asleep, and then I got a bad headache (which I still have now). Then I had an extra long supervision and had to give my presentation, which I garbled a bit because I was so out of it. The good news is that now I'm going to a party, and I go home for Christmas tomorrow.

Oh yeah, good point. The Death Note manga is very good indeed, at least up to volume 9. I read the first 8 volumes over about 2 days. However, I've only seen a few episodes of the anime, so I'm unable to make a fair comparison.

So in other words, while your argument is inconsistently based on a bizarre moral code, you don't even follow said code. N.B. Animals are "raped" all the time, and that has nothing to do with humans. The only way to get a female drosophila that is a virgin is to pick it out before its wings harden.

The Hikaru no Go anime is at least as good as the manga, and I'd say the Mai-HiME anime is way better.

I have to say that despite the odd awesome moment, I actually found Samurai Champloo a bit dull... it seemed distinctly average. Yeah, Mushi-shi is great... it's so otherworldly and surreal, and manages to pull off standalone episodes without cheapening the thrust of the story. I really enjoyed Elfen Lied, and I thought Nana was a great character. However, I think the length was just right - the story is already told by the end of a cours.
