Namco do have good relations with Nintendo, and with the steadily increasing installation base of Wii, is it that hard to beleive that Namco could tinker with GC code and create a new Soul Calibur?

Nintendo announces Japan 2007 release schedule
david.dakota replied to Excelle's topic in Nintendo Gaming
thats a good list considering its ONLY first and second party games. if a few get left over for 2008, it'd not be a great loss. We're in for a stellar year, thats for sure -
He's a cock. A cock in a hat.

Its more interesting that Nintendo are buying developers, rather than offloading them (Rare, Leftfield). Hopefully, with the recent increase in profits, Nintendo will splash the cash and get some more 2nd party developers on board.

I don't get this. Surely connecting to my wireless network will offer exactly the same functions?

Batallion Wars and Smash Bros - release dates..?

Wii is gaining momentum, and its certainly possible that RE5 could be ported to Wii. If there is a profit to be made, Capcom will take that opportunity. Just business sense - they'd have to weigh the potential returns against the cost of porting the game.

Fatastic. Especially considering the post actually mentions Wii.

N = C + {fb (cm) . fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc . ta Science gone mad. The above is a mathematical formula for creating the perfect bacon roll. Scientists at Leeds University have 'discovered' that the recipe for the perfect bacon roll is down to thr crispiness of the bacon. D'oh, a no brainer there. Given that any science requires investment of sorts (time, financial), surely there are better ways of spending that - perhaps creating a mathematical formula for reducing power consumption when grilling the bacon? For handiness i've included the full formula below (for next time your planning to make a bacon roll). The formula is: N = C + {fb (cm) . fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc . ta, where N=force in Newtons required to break the cooked bacon, fb=function of the bacon type, fc=function of the condiment/filling effect, Ts=serving temperature, tc=cooking time, ta=time or duration of application of condiment/filling, cm=cooking method, C=Newtons required to break uncooked bacon.

I think Nintendo and Retro are aware that MP2 did not sell as well as the original, arguably they're extremely similar games and this has on occasions been cited as a reason for the drop in sales (although in my opinion, more of a good thing can't be bad, can it?). I've always been adement that Metroid should remain a single player experience, however, MPH proved me wrong (but at the expense of the main game). Controls are probably an issue too. So far, no FPS has nailed a decent control system and Nintendo will want to get these spot on. Its a flagship franchise and needs to get it right.

Virtual Console - All you need to know
david.dakota replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I loved SMB2. It was one of my first NES games. You've got to remember that, despite being a rebrand of another franchise, it DID give way to Mario actually carrying things. -
Absolutely. I'm a 100% confirmed fanboy (well, perhaps not) but i do agree that there's a lot of the Wii promise that has not arrived. Red Steel's 'gesture' system is a let down, when compared to the promise.

Since Ada's missions will be added to the game, it would certainly be easier for Capcom to use the PS2 engine. The PS2 lacked a number of visual effects, and its probably easier to not programme the effects into Ada's missions.

Zelda Wii [set in the furutre]? (April Fools)
david.dakota replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ok, so ignoring the fact thats its April 1st, a Futuristic Zelda could work very well, blending traditional Zelda themes with more contemporary ideas. Batman of the Future is a rather good take on that franchise, so why not Zelda? -
John Simm actually plays a character called Mr Saxon, who'll probably turn out to be The Master. But since the last episode is called "The Last of the Tiomelords", i assume we're going to see the return of Gallifrey and the Timelords themselves. Crikey!!!!

IGN have some new videos up, and its lookin sweet. I just hope and pray we're getting it in april.

The BBC are running yet another poll on the current gen consoles, asking readers to vote for the console they think will become King of the Consoles. Currently, all three are roughly equal with Wii receiving 33.97%, Xbox 360 33.97% with PS3 slightly less on 32.05%. The poll can be seen here.

I should have read all of this post. 404 error, with no wii points. and a 36 minute wait for nintendo service centre!

Virtual Console - All you need to know

The birdie has been shot down! Perhaps we're seeing Duck Hunt on Virtual Console tonight..? -
German, anyone? I've been asked to find a translation of this, but using babel fish and other online translators brings up no translation. Does anyone know?

Is anyone else getting turned on by this picture? Never played NiGHTS, whats it about in a nutshell?
-
I've always wondered about this. Shouldnt Mario fall out of his Winged Hat and plummet to his doom?
-
Mario Party is a poor example. However, if you take the other games (and more) Nintendo consistently under develops the multiplayer options - where are the full GP races in Mario Kart or F-Zero? Perfect Dark managed a great split screen multiplayer, with bots almost 10 years ago. I can't see why it can't be done today.
-
The thing is, Nintendo's 4 player games are usually half arsed. Mario Kart, Mario Party, F-Zero are all massacred when playing 4player. Why not keep it a two player machine.

Touch plastic keys, i've had no problems with the Wii when playing SSX - except for grotting myself with the nunchuk cable (which after playing SSX is seriously pissing me off).
