  1. True, but you could do it somewhere with the window open/extractor fan on. Or a dehumidifier. But that goes back to @Shorty's comment. Where does the moisture go with the DriBuddi? From what I can tell it's just a heated fan inside a cover. So that's the same issue.
  2. This. And this. I pay for Netflix (well my OH does). But if some shows aren't on there, then how can I watch them? We also have prime (again paid for by her) but amazon are kind of shit, a lot of there shows are partly free, and then pay for the rest. I do go to the cinema, but it's undoubtedly a rip off. I never pirate games as steam is good and the (sale) prices are often reasonable. I used to pirate films but since Spotify and apple music (also the OH) I no longer do. I still watch TV and films via illegal streaming sites, but I don't feel guilty. We have two TV streaming subscriptions. If they want to continue with an archaic, restrictive, extortionate distribution model then I'm happy to not support it. Maybe I'm just trying to justify it to myself, but I genuinely feel no guilt. I try to pay for albums of smaller, independent bands. But for larger bands I'd rather put that money towards tickets that generate the bands lots of income, and create more jobs, than CDs which mostly benefit retailers and record labels.
  3. The DriBuddy is basically just a hot fan with a cover. Can you not just get a cheap fan heater and place that next to the clothes horse? The DriBuddy is 1200w so anything less than that will use less energy.
  4. Either of the above are good. Whichever you feel most comfortable doing. Just make sure you do something and don't regret missing the chance later.
  5. How did you decide which names to get rid of?
  6. Usually people call me Shagmaster 3000 or King Dong.
  7. I'd go for the Lenovo ZUK Z2 personally. You may have to flash the ROM though so be sure you're comfortable doing that (plenty of good guides on the Lenovo forums).
  8. Well this thread just became awful.
  9. He might not be gloating, you don't know what's coming after that ellipsis. He could be paying £430.
  10. I'd give a salary. Saying you want x% pay rise just sounds like you want a pay rise. But saying you wank £x sounds like you're giving yourself a value/worth. Also in percentage terms 10% is a large pay rise. But if it's not that much in actual money then it may sounds more palatable. That's my opinion anyway. Either definitely go in above what you actually want, as they'll most likely give a counter offer.
  11. Just got to the crossover in Flash. Annoyed that I have to continue it on Arrow. I'd stopped watching the show because I'd lost interest. I don't want to just watch the crossover episode though so I'm going to have to catch up.
  12. Yeah some rats are huge. I once saw a rat get run over by a car (a VW Passat, so not exactly small) and just shake itself off and scamper away. But still, rats are very agile. As you say if it's rats they're likely not stuck, so wouldn't make much noise. Besides, surely it's dead now, @Goafer?
  13. As much as I hate the Daily Mail generally, they do have some really good specialist segments, and have some of the best/widest coverage. Just avoid the front page.
  14. You could just get a white t-shirt and write "Choose your own adventure" on it. Or maybe make a cardboard book cover, and have a cutout for your head, so it looks like you're on the front cover.
  15. How aboutthe teacher from the Magic School Bus? Could carry around around a little toy bus. Not a quick and easy costume though. Mr Benn would be an easy one (sure you've got a black suit, just need a bowler hat). Might be a bit obscure though. Or any sort of pirate.
  16. Indiana Jones was the first that came to mind. Should be pretty easy to make (and probably hundreds of cheap costumes on ebay/amazon/any costume shop). Or get some sort of gimp costume and go as Sexually Adventurous.
  17. There's also the onion. A lot of people misunderstand what it is, and write it off as a spoof news site, but it's not. Most news organisations cover news just after it has happened, and try hard to cover it as soon as possible after it has happened. The Onion takes this one step further and covers the news before it has actually happened.
  18. Browse BBC news daily at work. Other than that will get a lot of news from Facebook, but (other than us election stuff) it's mainly weird entertainment type news.
  19. I work in marketing analytics/data science. Yeah I'll just go for then even if they say immediate start.
  20. I'm kjbda sick of my job, or should I say sick of the company. Working in a regulated monopoly environment where about half (no exaggeration) of employees are contractors or consultants, grads who've never worked in a decent company, and senior management who are all rejects from British Gas who are looking for a gravy train ride to retirement. Trouble is I've been here 11 months, and my last job was 10 months, so if I move again I'll look w bit suspect (and I'm hoping to emigrate within a year so that'll be a 3rd short employment). I'd like to become a contractor (#hypocrite) but those jobs are fewer and usually require an immediate start. I did have a Skype interview today, but it would add 2 hours onto my day factoring in commute. Also when they first advertised the roles, to when they out me through they'd changed the title slightly and dropped the salary by 5k. I told them I wouldn't move for less than an £8k increase over my current salary. I am definitely worth that if I was prepared to move, even more if I moved to London. Not sure what to do. Just wanted somewhere to spill my guts.
