  1. The official GameCube pad for me. Best console, best games, best pad. I mean, it even had analogue triggers - a concept not many people understand. The only drawback was the poor d-pad, but I never needed to use that anyway. That said, for nostalgic reasons, I find the Megadrive pads the nicest-looking and most iconic, especially ones like Happenstance posted.
  2. I don't know, someone told me Matt Smith has revised how many series he wants to do - two, apparently. Another factor might be if Steven Moffat has been really nice to Benedict Cumberbatch and persuaded him to do it (even though he said he wouldn't). I should think they'd want him in ASAP, as he's a real hot property - the next David Tennant, really. This news has come after Sherlock was a MEGA hit - everyone went crazy in particular for the lead actor. Ah, it's probably just wishful thinking.
  3. Sounds to me like Matt Smith might leave halfway through the next series. That's the only type of cliffhanger I can think of that would be big enough to justify a gap.
  4. Hooray! You can buy a Dangerous Bustier today! I bought one, turned it into a Silk Bustier, then turned that into a Divine Bustier, which is the best torso-wear I've got so far for a girl.
  5. Yeah, I didn't like Viewtiful Joe either as, despite appearances, it didn't actually play like an old-fashioned game. I found the "FX" like slowing-down and speeding-up the gameplay too gimmicky and complicated, when all I really wanted was another Shinobi or Dragonninja.
  6. Personally, I enjoyed this game, but not enough to get high scores in the mini games or complete it 100%. In fact, I distinctly remember thinking "No more. I'm done with this" and then selling it.
  7. Personally, I've learnt to enjoy it by concentrating on just one purpose per play session. For instance, one day I might do Quests, and only Quests. Another day I'll just do Grottoes. Then another day I might change everyone to a vocation they're Level 1 in and level them up in the Bowhole and Grottoes with groups of Liquid Metal Slimes until they're about Level 42. It's very cathartic to save up skill points and then pour 100 of them into a Trait. Oh, by the way, the priority Quests should be the ones that you have to get to Level 40 for (eg. Level 40 Thief, Level 40 Gladiator) and the maxed-out weapon Quests from Swinedimples. I've done Spears, Swords, Axes and Wands, although obviously I'm not going to max-out any just to do the Quest, not whilst I still need the points for Traits!
  8. Brilliant! It makes sense. I mean Nintendo have shelled out for the advert, even if it was NoA. It would be daft for NoE not to use it. After all, they all want to sell as many as possible.
  9. There's a snake in the grass!
  10. I was born in the '70s but without doubt the '90s was my favourite. The decade began well with the whole Megadrive scene. I used to take it to London every weekend, play Sonic/Streets of Rage and look in the bigger and better games shops there. It felt so bloomin' cool. Then in the mid-90s you had the Britpop vibe, which I really loved. Not just the music but the programmes - TFI Friday, Shooting Stars, the Fast Show. There were always good "rubbish" programmes on ITV like Baywatch Nights and the Highlander spin-off (a series I liked despite not having watched the films). The '90s was the decade when I left school, went to college and got my first jobs. It's just when it all happened for me.
  11. No, I don't think about zombies at all. It's far more likely that we will eradicate our own humanity by changing what chemicals are in our body and making ourselves "cyborgs" by augmenting our body with technology.
  12. Pancake, does he understand you don't have MSN Messenger? If he thinks you have it and you're blocking him, I can see why he'd be insulted. If he thinks you should install certain programs, he's being unreasonable. I mean, it's OK to suggest someone installs it, but not to be insulted if they don't. He should be grateful you talk to him via whatever means you already do.
  13. Look for high places, especially with huts, wells or caves that you couldn't access before. Also looks for islands that couldn't be accessed by boat because they're surrounded by rocks. The most exciting bit (although it's not really) is probably the tower at the north of the north-west island.
  14. The other day I watched "Hot Girls Top 50" or something like that on a music channel. It had videos from Girls Aloud, The Saturdays etc, and it was brilliant!
  15. Keeping it to people who are actually good on stage: John Shuttleworth- seen him live twice Flight of the Conchords - good tunes, but also very funny Reginald D Hunter - intelligent, funny and, I must admit, I do like to hear about Britain from his American perspective Stephen K Amos Stuart Lee - his "Comedy Vehicle" is like a hysterically funny and original journey Reeves & Mortimer - their ressurection of Shooting Stars has been absolutely stunning, this year and last I could list loads, I love good comedians!
  16. LOL! You certainly didn't offend me. Forums should be places where anything about games can be discusses in good spirits. As for the mini games and sidequests in Twilight Princess, they were very much on "collectable" and "high score" themes more than anything, such as the insects and Poes, and the other ones you mentioned. None of that really bothered me personally, it was more core things. Welcome to the boards.

    Breakfast

Two Shredded Wheat. I couldn't eat anything else (apart from three).
  18. Naked women. Well, that's enough for me! In all seriousness, you don't need many reasons to be cheerful. Got your health, family and a roof over your head? If so, you are bloody lucky! If not, then yes, I sympathise. Personally, I've got a great deal in life and I'm not going to get EMO over something stupid like girls, jobs or whatever else people get depressed about!
  19. When you get to level 99 with a character in any vocation, you can reset them to level 1, keeping all their skill points. Apparently, this eventually allows you to make better armour and makes better enemies appear. Having completed all the post-game content in DQVIII before level 65 (and that was with Metal King Slimes), I'd never have dreamed of getting to level 99, and I wonder how it's even possible.
  20. After Twilight Princess, yes. I don't want to be rude, but don't you think you're overreacting? Surely a fanboy is someone who defends a company at all costs, rather than someone who is just honest about what they see? People aren't really hating Skyward Sword at all. In fact, I'd say Nintendo would be lucky to stir up much emotion either way before it's released. However, like Spirit Tracks, it has just as much chance of being a great game. (For the record, I like the art style and the name.)
  21. And fantastic it was too. Yep, it's well worth making: Hot Bikini Top = Dangerous Bikini Top + Seashell x3 + Crimson Coral x2 Sizzling Bikini Top = Hot Bikini Top + Technicolor Dreamcloth + Astral Plume x2 Hot Bikini Bottoms = Dangerous Midriff Wrap + Seashell x3 + Crimson Coral x3 Sizzling Bikini Bottoms = Hot Bikini Bottoms + Technolor Dreamcloth + Astral Plume x2 Perv.
  22. The UK adverts aren't that bad, are they? They're a tad uninspiring, but they show the game OK. The US advert is much better though. Samus has got one sexy wiggle!
  23. As far as I'm concerned, the true modern artists are the ones designing things for films and computer games. I've never understood the "meaningful" type of art. Maybe it's good, but I don't understand it.
  24. Looks fantastic. I take it it's from Warhammer or something like that?
