My Nintendo ( Club Nintendo Successor )
Hero-of-Time replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Minecraft Dungeons, A Little to the Left and Cursed to Golf are all part of game trials this week. You get 100 platinum coins for each game you try. I played Curse to Golf on my PS4 last October and really enjoyed it. Well worth a look. -
I'm still happy enough ploughing through Switch games and so I'm in not immediate rush for the successor. The console is still selling well in Japan (fallen off quite a bit in various EU countries though) and so I can understand why Nintendo continue to hold off, especially when their software just won't stop selling.

2027 it is! Crazy that we are nearing the end of October and we've still heard nothing about it. I wonder if they are indeed gonna just keep tight lipped until early next year?

Shame. It was a fun game. It once agains proves the point that it doesn't matter how good the game reviews or plays, if it can't reach an audience then it's a very risky thing to do in the current gaming environment. It's why we are seeing indie developers fold even if their game is highly praised.

Massive DLC package incoming!

Details from that online playtest thingy have been leaked. Seems like some social online game/experiment. Certainly not up my alley of interest.

Super Mario Party Jamboree (17th October 2024)

When you pick a mode you go to Player Settings within it. There you can change whether a character is CPU controlled of player controlled. -
Super Mario Party Jamboree (17th October 2024)
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I picked this up from Argos yesterday morning, took a break from my spooky games and fired it up today. I've only played the 1 board because I've been spending a lot of my time on the game trying to unlock achievements (so happy they are back in the game) and playing the Bowser Kaboom Squad online. That mode is so much fun, although a little frustrating when trying to unlock an achievement that requires the 7 other players to do well. The S rank achievement continues to evade me due to either shoddy connections or the other players being garbage. The AI ain't much better either. The standard party map I did play was a bit of a drag. The first half was okay but then the last 5 turns were just filled with events and cutscenes. The Ally games dragged on far too long as well. I wish you could just skip all the AI moves or at least fast forward them all. They really kill the pace of the game. -
8 years ago today.

I see the Etrian Odyssey collection is down to an all time low of £28. I'm already swimming in JRPGs but that price may be too good to resist.

That is amazing! I'd love to buy it but it's so expensive.

Shawn Layden once again speaks out about the state of the industry. https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2024/10/ex-playstation-exec-shawn-layden-says-theres-been-a-collapse-in-gaming-creativity I agree with most of his points. It's no wonder a lot of creativity has gone down the pan when a single failure could mean the closure of your studio. Again, this all comes back to the ballooning gaming development costs, something that Shawn warned about years ago, as did Iwata.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (21st February 2025)
Hero-of-Time replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
Game's release date has been pushed up by a week. Probably to avoid Monster Hunter. -
Played through the first speedrun level. Fun enough but very short. I'll probably wait until they have all been released before firing the game back up again. Happy to see that each stage comes with new trophies though.

Until Dawn Remake/Remaster (4th October 2024)

Looks like this has been a massive flop. https://metro.co.uk/2024/10/11/dawn-remake-flopped-even-worse-concord-ps5-21777476/ -
Apparently this is the first time a shiny Meloetta has been made available. Everyone is kicking about the requirements to unlock it though.
