  1. Yeah, seems like a promo piece for Vince.
  2. Maybe it's just a VERY good game? The fact that it was previewing very well was pretty telling. The signs were there even when it was first shown. Plus, both other Astro Bot games are amazing platformers. It's just continuing the trend of the previous entries. The fact that we are possibly seeing a 3D platformer as a GOTY contender that isn't made by Nintendo is great to see. it's about time others tackled the genre.
  3. Earlier in the week, I sat down and decided to start playing this. It's been a nice slow burn, just playing half hour/an hour on an evening and I've now finished the first game. I've really enjoyed my time with it. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I can't recall anything about the original DS game and so this was really a new experience for me. Exploring the mansion gave me some non creepy Resident Evil vibes. Exploring each of the rooms, finding the keys, doing puzzles and unlocking doors definitely took me back to the Spencer Mansion. The story was pretty heartfelt at times, if very predictable. The major plot points were pretty obvious and some were telegraphed in some of the documents you find scattered about the place. I especially enjoyed looking for the origami birds which added a little more to the narrative. I know Killthenet had issues with the voice acting but I thought it was fine. Granted, I've not played the sequel yet but all the performances in the first game sat okay with me. Speaking of the sequel, I'm not sure if I'll head straight into it but I am concerned about the length. I think the 5-6 hours of the first game was the perfect length and with the sequel being twice as long, I do wonder if it will feel a little too drawn out. Considering this was originally a DS game, the team have done a great job giving it an upgrade for the Switch generation. I'm very impressed with what they've done.
  4. Haha. Yeah, it just seems like a random bunch of words thrown together. I prefer the end credits song.
  5. I still wouldn't mind giving it a go but finding a sealed physical version is pretty hard these days. It's mostly just code in a box copies that are out in the wild now.
  6. Did Londragon play it? I thought you guys talked about it when you ran the podcast but I may be misremembering
  7. Yeah, but you don't like anything.
  8. Figured that was the case, it was just that you mentioned them as a publisher not a developer. I thought you were saying anything they publish sucks.
  9. What about Cruisn Blast on the Switch? They have a hand in that? Apparently it was pretty fun. I enjoyed the Nickelodeon Smash ripoff as well. Wouldn't have paid for it but it was a fun time when I played it on PS+.
  10. I've not watched it but apparently it's a slow start that has a fantastic second half.
  11. Really? I can see it doing stupid numbers. People are dying for new Nintendo hardware, the Nintendo brand popularity is probably the highest it has ever been for the end of a console gen and Nintendo themselves have had more than enough time to get launch software ready.
  12. Absolutely and welcome back.
  13. I think it's a few things just coming together. Rumours last month were circulating that Directs were hitting sooner than anticipated due to Nintendo speeding up the announcement of the Switch 2. Lo and behold 2 Directs were merged and aired. You then have evidence that production is starting and this is when things tend to leak from production lines. Nintendo no doubt want to announce things on their terms without any leaks and the best way to do that is to get that message out early. Earlier the better for me. I was fed up with all the rumours and speculation about the Switch Pro/successor and that was years ago. This announcement has been years in the making. If Nintendo are planning on a Sept reveal, I wonder if TGS has anything to do with it? That happens at the end of the month and you have to imagine there are a lot of Japanese developers who are probably eager to talk about their Switch 2 projects. On the flipside, revealing the Switch 2 this side of Christmas completely sweeps the legs away on the original model for the holiday season. I suppose they could give it a price drop and do some silly numbers during that peroid.
  14. I don't think many are, to be honest. They seemed to have come out guns blazing, rather than trying to ease people into things. It's the elderly who seem to getting hit hardest at the moment, especially with rumours that the threshold for private pension tax may now be getting lowered. The rumours about taxing cars depending on the mileage you do is another thing that won't sit very well with people. Some are saying it will only be for electric cars but that's still a kick in the nuts for those who bought one thinking they wouldn't have to pay tax. Again, I said years ago that the government would find a way to tax EV drivers. There was no way they would allow that kind of money to slip through their fingers.
  15. Previews are dropping. This from Eurogamer is what I wanted to hear. Also, regarding the beds....
  16. Man, those Subbuteo toys take me back.
  17. I take it nobody picked this up? I've been reading some impressions from those that did and it appears the Switch version is still pretty rough when it comes to performance. Those playing on PC seem to be having a much smoother experience.
  18. Here's a good piece from Push Square about the whole thing. Lots of good points made by Sammy. I do hope this disastrous failure makes the Sony bigwigs take a long hard look at where they were heading with all of this GaaS nonsense and instead get back to basics. Sammy mentions how their single player games are costing too much to make and while this is very true, Sony could do more by releasing small versions of their main IP, just like they done with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy or Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Smaller games built using assets and engines from main games. They could also scale back the games they make. I mean, just look at the size and length of something like Uncharted 4 or God of War 2018 when compared to the earlier games. There was a time when I would play through previous entries of a series when a new entry was due to be released but you just can't do that anymore due to how big these games are now. This isn't just a Sony problem though but an industry wide one and it has been a costly one, with developers being laid off left and right because companies can't afford to make these huge games anymore.
  19. Nah, I'm pretty burnt out by it now. 40 hours in a few days will do that to you.
  20. I enjoyed episode 4 of One Piece. Seeing how Luffy got his powers and hat was pretty cool and I loved Shanks.
  21. Play the PS+ trial of Vampire Survivors.
  22. Just the two trophies left for me in the DLC (complete both adventures). The final few are tied to the glitched stuff so I won't be touching those until a patch arrives.
