  1. You could show me a screenshot of Anthem and I wouldn't know it was Anthem. I am definitely not waiting for Anthem 😂 I forgot EA blessed us with Burnout Paradise and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, two games which exemplify a lot of what I dislike about modern racing games!
  2. That's what I've been anticipating. While there probably isn't that much I really want off the top of my head, I also expect all of the Resident Evil remakes to make it to the Switch successor. I could have been tempted to get RE4 on PS4 recently but I felt confident enough to hold out to be able to get it on a Nintendo system. I suspect it will be joined by RE2, 3, VII and VIII. I also wonder if there will be a deal for those people who purchased the cloud versions on Switch. Surely they would deserve some sort of upgrade to native versions 😅 Despite my confidence in those games coming from Capcom, I have been somewhat surprised that we didn't get stuff like the original Splinter Cell HD and Prince of Persia HD trilogies on Switch from Ubisoft or things like Dead Space from EA (though I'm much less surprised by their lack of support). Heck, even Zombi U not coming to Switch seems a little strange considering a version of the game exists without the WIi U Gamepad integration!
  3. I'll be there on day one whatever the price, I'd say! I remember not being enthused by the Wii, Wii U or even Switch reveals but I fell in love with all of them (to varying degrees 😅) The only thing likely to stop me picking one up at launch is if it's practically impossible to get one due to scalpers and whatever else. I wouldn't be paying over the RRP from some scumbag just to have it there and then! I feel like it'll be more than people anticipate, like £429, but less than what I think they could probably get away with at launch. £499 is a price I could ultimately stomach when considering the amount of hours I'll get out of the console but we'll see what happens. With no PS5 or XBOX in my thoughts, the Switch successor will be main and only console so might as well jump on board straight away 😁
  4. That sounds like something someone who needs to git gud would say!
  5. It definitely looks like a game I didn't enjoy as much as I expected to on PS3, but still.. Where's my Switch version?
  6. Only played the first day of Pikmin last weekend on Switch and I will get back to it soon but the pointer controls feel frustratingly restrictive after how amazing they are in Pikmin 3. I have played more of Super Mario Galaxy this week, though. I'm up to 56 stars now with Luigi 😃 I knew I wouldn't like it.. but what I didn't expect was to feel actually sick after playing Portal. Either it's an frustrating case of motion sickness or my body is finding new ways to be repulsed by critically acclaimed games beyond my mental disgust!
  7. That's great! I wish I could say the same 🥲 The gameplay was definitely the biggest issue. It felt clumsy throughout but shining a torch at random objects flying through the air just brought out a sigh in me every time. If the story captivated me I could have perhaps overlooked that a little more but I wasn't engrossed by that or the characters. The game often issues mundane tasks and objectives in the corner of the screen. It is nice to know where to go but when it's constantly 'go to this room.. speak the this person.. pick up glasses.. pick up tablets..' then it just never feels particularly compelling for me. I do think it would have had more of an impact had I played it back when it originally came out but it just hasn't resonated with me at all in 2024.
  8. I was gonna say it can be fairly cheap to pick up these days but you're right- that would be the code in the box version, which is what I have! I guess if you really wanted to try it, that could be the way to go and then if you think it's worth it you could seek out a physical copy..?
  9. I'm not sure if he played it. I have and I actually went back earlier in the year to find the rest of the keys and beat everything. It really wasn't worth it! There are things to like about it but the most important thing, the racing, isn't particularly satisfying!
  10. Completely fair point.. but I stand by it 😅 Genuinely interested to hear why 🙂
  11. Also pretty terrible, unfortunately 🙄 Speaking of which.. I was actually shocked by how rubbish this was throughout and how I didn't really find any justification for seeing it through. I guess it was doing things that were maybe more fresh when the game originally came out on XBOX 360 but this was my first and hopefully only experience of it. Terrible combat. Awful visuals. Nonsense story.
  12. I'm actually happy they went with this one because I've played through all of Zero on PS4 and barely started this one so I'll maybe play it on Switch instead!
  13. Yeh.. that's where I'm at, unfortunately 😕 Tears of the Kingdom left such a sour taste that any and all similarities I'm seeing with Echoes of Wisdom are hard to overlook. I've never been particularly into the top-down Zelda games as it is, bar enjoying Phantom Hourglass and A Link Between Worlds, but I could have been interested in this had the gameplay not looked so tedious to me. It's visually pleasing and Zelda as the protagonist is cool but I just don't think I want to play it. The whole thing with echoes and binds just isn't what I'm looking for and I'm already sick of seeing how overused the bed echo has been for traversal in the footage so far!
  14. You hear correctly 😅 Apart from that nightmare, Octo Expansion was excellent 😃
  15. I'm also up to Chapter 3 in Alan Wake Remastered and feeling kinda similar to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, I guess. The gameplay isn't really delivering so far 😕 Thankfully, I've also started Metroid Zero Mission and it's excellent so far, as we know 😃
  16. I'm ready to be hurt again 😅
  17. This "generation" of consoles is definitely passing me by! I say "generation" because Nintendo are off doing their own thing and for a long time now my focus has been, and continues to be, on Switch. There are so many games that I want to play on Switch, many of which I haven't even started never mind finished. There just aren't enough hours in the day and largely brings me around to why I just haven't properly been following what's going on with PlayStation and XBOX. If I can't even find enough time to play the games I want to play on my Nintendo Switch, why would I throw money away on other consoles that I have very little interest in as it is..? Part of that disinterest is that I've owned both a PS5 and XBOX Series X, something that still barely makes sense to me. I was kinda playing my PS4 more than Switch for a little bit a few years ago which kinda made an upgrade to PS5 seem worth doing but after playing Astro's Playroom, I was just left playing PS4 games. I can do that on my PS4 and since I hate the size and design of the PS5 as well as finding the Dualsense slightly too large to be comfortable, it was easy to sell the console on after a few months back then and not lose any money on it! A few months later, there was a curiosity about Series X and the value that GamePass seemed to have. I picked one up from Argos one time when it came in stock and it was sold on within 5 days. Ultimately, I realised I made a mistake soon after setting it up and I just knew it didn't feel right. Even the click of the D-Pad was driving me nuts as well as the same navigation sound effects that still haunt me from the 360 days! Buying them both was absolutely the best thing I could have done, though, as it got the curiosity out of my system and helped solidify where to focus my time and money. I feel like I've been massively benefitting from that clarity since and the Switch has grown into my favourite console of all time 🔥 It does mean that I haven't properly kept up with what has been going on with XBOX and PlayStation for the last 3 years or so. Having disliked every XBOX I've ever picked up (the original, 360 and Series X) I now know to steer clear and while I still happily own a PS1, 2, 3 and 4, I no longer feel that it's likely I'll even bother getting a PS5 again at any point. I'll just keep playing the Switch and I'll no doubt be all in on Nintendo's successor too 😃 Liberation!
  18. I haven't really ever played this much. I do like it, to an extent, but I still find having 99 players crashing into each other at the start of every race too chaotic to be particularly enjoyable. I did, however, jump in randomly at the weekend and discovered the 20 player Classic GP in the rotation so I dived in. So much better 🔥 I kinda wish that was the main mode..
  19. That you enjoyed it 😅 I fully expect to be playing it with the original visuals and control scheme when I eventually pick it up but who knows!
  20. Glad to hear it 😃 I have only played about half of the first game on PS1 a few years ago and there was definitely enough there to make me want to eventually finish it so I will absolutely be picking up the trilogy at some point. The recent sale price of about £20 would probably have been enough if I felt I was going to be playing them any time soon but I've got a load of other games on my mind right now so it felt right to play the waiting game (just like with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown)
  21. Don't worry.. it's an easy mistake to make 😂
  22. I totally get this and I kinda agree with most of what you're saying.. ..but Tennis and Golf are just about enough to carry the game for me. They're both a lot of fun to play 😃 Bowling is OK too and the football and volleyball have their moments. For me, Chambara is a waste of time and not an enjoyable experience at all while Badminton feels almost unnecessary when the vastly superior tennis is in the package. It's so frustrating that that there aren't more games included like Archery or even Frisbee but, like I say, I weirdly still think it's worth picking up if you love a couple of the included games like I do!
