  1. "Congratulations! The good news is that you were one of the first customers to have ordered a Wii from GAME.co.uk and we are happy to inform you that we are expecting to receive enough units of Wii from Nintendo, to fulfil your hardware order for launch! ... Unfortunately, certain software titles and accessories, such as Wii Play, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and extra controllers are expected to be very limited in stock around launch, and if you ordered such items separately to your bundle we may not be able to fulfil them straight away. We will of course fulfil these orders as fast as we can on a first-come, first-served basis." I got that this morning, nice to wake up to huge relief of my shoulders. anyway if you have an online pre-order with game email them asap. @Viper, unlucky about your pre-order, when abouts did you pre-order with them, i know a couple of other people the pre-ordered online and didnt get e,i definitely think they are prioritizing in store preorders over online ones.

  3. I have no idea what position I'm in after ordering online with game. so yea, calm down, just put a refundable prorder down somewhere else just in case.
  4. haven't heard anything about games online pr-orders yet, ive emailed them and gotten no reply a couple of times, and no-one instores know anything. sigh, im going to be really annoyed if i dont get one after ordering so early.
  5. I prefer not to drink when I go out to clubs, i can dance without alcohol, being sober when you mates are drunk, is well worth it. Maybe have a few pints before you go out in the local bar, but i prefer to drink alcohol for the taste rather than the effects. plus getting drunk is just a waste, theres no need to drink more than feeling tispy and merry. but hey, each to their own, if they NEED to get drunk to have a good time, it says alot about them.
  6. Anyone heard anything from game about Internet pre-orders? I'm getting a little tetchy now that people that ordered in store have found out. I emailed them a few days ago but have yet to hear anything in return.
  7. If lambda = k a.k + 3b = k.a 2b=k.b (as k cannot = 2, b must =0) if b=0 a.k=a.k so a = anything you want. that gives a=(anything you want, 0) a normalised vector is one that has length of 1 (ie sqrt(a^2 + b^2)=1 for a 2D vector. so the normalised version of (x,0)=(1,0). other examples, if you had (x, -x) then the normalised vector would be (1/sqrt(2))*(1 , -1). I know what you mean about this whole eigenvector/value/function thing, took me ages to get it. Didn't help that the first time we did it was for 2nd order coupled differential equations (first year uni), it didn't make any sense at all until we saw it for matrices and even then it took a while for it to sink in because we were so confused after the differentials. Stick with it, eigenvalues/vectors are very useful, especially in quantum mechanics.
  8. using the same equation as you, for lambda=2, the equations are: ka+3b=2a 2b=2b (b equals anything you want) a(k-2)+3b=0 a=3b/(2-k) I just set b as 1, so i got a=(3/(2-k) , 1), but you can set it to something to make things easier. if you set b=(2-k) then you get a=(3, (2-k)) on an unrelated note, could someone code in an easier way to write vectors in this forum?
  9. Ok, from what you've said: for eigenvalue 2; a=(-3/(k-2)), b=1 (completely not normalised) for eigenvalue k; a=1, b=0 (normalised, a=anything b=0) the eigenvector corresponding to eigenvalue=k comes from that you get b=0, then you get ka=ka. so a can equal anything, and so can k, it will hold true (except k=2 because then b doesn't = 0) both of these hold for any value of k (except obviously k=2). What exactly are you trying to find out? the possible values of k are anything except 2. but that was given un the question. I dont think you can narrow it down anymore.
  10. Yea, if anyone needs Maths or Physics help, I'm always willing, send me a PM if you willing to take advantage of this most generous offer. I'm a 3rd year physics undergrad so I don't know any of that pesky Dphil stuff. In return for my help you must bring me a shrubbery.
  11. What about people who ordered online, has anyone gotten anything confirming whether they are getting one? I ordered on the 27th of September so I'll be fairly annoyed if I don't get one. I'll be even more annoyed if my game pre-orders from play.com arrive on launch and my console doesn't. Damn that would be annoying.
  12. Did you order online or instore with game? Will they be confirming online pre-orders soon then?
  13. Why is it that in video games, most female characters never seem to be wearing clothes that are designed for their ample assets? I would have though that by now some enterprising dude (probably Tom Nook or rpg shopkeeper) would have realized the booming market for the voluptuous lady, and designed a range of knitwear to contain the overflow and prevent unintended exposure. Maybe its just me.
  14. Yesterday I went to a small Devon village called Ottery, where the local tradition was to run round with huge flaming tar barrels on their backs. It was was so awesome, about 7,000 people in the vilaage square, with these huge flaming barrels being carried through the crowds randomly, with people having to run out the way or get hit and burned. There were signs everywhere telling us that we were there at our own risk, and plenty of people got injured (inc self). But it was amazing, I'm so glad that some parts of the country ignore health and safety that much. Tonight, i'll be sat indoors nursing a sprained ankle.
  15. The little dude is good, the background image is amazing, and you're logo/name is pretty sweet, but they don't really go together at all. They are all pretty good, but are all different styles and aren't that compatible. I think you should definitely go with the logo "legend of Zell" bit, and design the whole sig in that theme, more zelda, sharp lines. Make the logo a bit bigger, so "the legend of" is easier to read. little dude: 4/10 background sig: 7/10 logo: 10/10 Total (not average): 6/10
  16. Where's the link to the linux version?
  17. http://www..ebuyer.com their Lacie hard drives are fairly cheap and really reliable. not sure if they do 120Gb version though. I really want to know more about the incident, did you really need to hit a nail that badly?
  18. This screwed me up for today. For some wierd butterfly/cascade effect the hassel of the clocks going back has led me to the state where i havent eaten all day, feeling stupidly knackered and tired, and having done none of the huge problem sheet I have to do for tomorrow 9am (if 9am is the real time, i dont know anymore :S). Sigh, I hate seriess of inprobable events conspiring against me to screw me over.
  19. Another way of getting the remainder: 82/12 = 6.83333333333333 6.8333333333 - 6 = 0.83333333333 0.83333333333*12=10=A Just multiply whatever the decimal point part isby what you originally divided by. The way is probably as fast as Bogbas's way, but probably faster when the original decimal number is greater that 144, as you have to find the remainder twice, and with larger numbers.
  20. Firefly Spaced Both are genius
  21. Its a nice little browser. Just got it when I updated from dapper to edgy. Not sure i'm a fan of the individual crosses on tabs, but i'll get used to it. Hopefully If enough members of this forum get it, there'll be a massive increase in peoples ability to spell.
  22. Dammit, nowhere near Oxford, and I go back home on the 3rd, so the Sheffield and Meadowhall ones are a few days too early . I guess Ill have to wait until launch.
  23. If your using gimp, if you colour selcet the background of the images (white), and then press something like ctrl+k basically delete or cut it It should then become trasparent. then add some type of feathering to make the images edgs less jaggy. Theres probably much better/easier ways but im a gimp n00b.
  24. An easy way to put a backgroun on would be to find a program like photoshop or gimp (free), and put the background as one layer and then what you have at the moment as another. then play around with the settings so they merge. Anyway, i like your sig without the background. put a border around it and it'll be good to go. If you move toad closer to the triforce, then the triforce will look more central. Anyway, I should really do something with my sig. havent figured out what yet.
  25. 9:00-10:00 wake up, eat breakfast shower, check websites and emails etc. 10:00-12:00 go to lectures, stuff like atomic physics or stellar structures. 12:00-1:00 eat food and play pool 1:00-2:00 more lectures 2:00-3:30 more pool, read the paper. 3:30-6:00 tutorials, 2 people and the tutors going through work and stuff. (or doing a fw wuestions from a problem sheet depending on the day) 6:00-7:00 More pool, beer or two. 7:00-8:00 Food in college halls. Big old hall looks like something out of Harry Potter, People come and serve you your food and bring you drinks. Its very posh. 8:00-9:00 Some type of dance lesson, ballroom/latin depending on the day. 9:00-10:00 in the college bar drinking snakebite or absinth if ive got any. More games of pool. Maybe some table football too. 10:00-2:00 Working, Doing more problems from tute sheets. If I have time I'll go out (not that often about once a week ) 2:00-9:00 Sleeping, unless I cant finish the problems and I have a work deadline in which case I'll be working There might be the odd game of ultimate or squash thrown in there depending on match fixtures or if i can book a court. (normally in the place of pool playing)
