  1. It's used a lot in theme park attractions. In fact, it's a vital component of Stich's Great Escape! in Magic Kingdom in Florida, and other similar things like that.
  2. Stove burns on my hands! Show them to my friends! ---- Who said she was? I never said that and don't think that one bit. She has musical talent all round, and is a musician, something lacking in female mainstream artists these days I must say (mainstream music in general, actually). It just seems a shame that the Cherrytree performance of Poker Face isn't being sold, whereas Beautiful Dirty Rich is. However, I'm pretty sure that's her concious decision.
  3. Poor lyrics are poor lyrics any way we cut the cake that is Lady GaGa. Not saying that poor lyrics can't work, of course they can, but there needs to be some kinda support to the poor lyrics. This applies to songs with a few words or sentences as lyrics too. There's needs to be a balance, if lyrics in themselves don't support themselves. I find. I much preferred that vid Haggis posted of her just at her piano singing Poker Face. The strange lyrics reminded me of Tori Amos...it was really great, and showed off her voice much better. It's her prerogative to do whatever style of music she wishes, of course, I always support that self-expression on someone's own terms. But I can favour/see fault in style and presentation of that expression. EDIT: This video (reposted for emphasis)
  4. You're entitled to you opinion of course, but it's marriage of poor lyrics to music is nonexitant. Coming from someone who listens to every end of the weirdo-performer spectrum, I can tell that her stuff is contrived...not that it's always a bad thing. Often it can add to a performance and whatnot. However, she's letting style rule over substance (from an objective perspective). I'm reserving full judgement until I hear the full album. I can't talk about your music taste being completely awful or whatever, I listen to many of the same artists and a lot of dance and pop. But I also listen to some very good, thoughtful music too, which I think allows me to tell when pop music works and when it doesn't. Again, I await a full listen of GaGa's album. Ok. : peace:
  5. See, she's in serious danger of taking herself way too seriously. She can say "Pop Music Will Never Be Low-Brow" all she wants, but it's not like she's making particularly note-worthy additions to the genre. Beautiful Dirty Rich is actually atrocious, the rest I've heard (3 songs now) only ok. It's as though she's a really bad version of Roison Murphy, in terms of music, and the whole "wacky style in normal places" schtick. And the video comes across as fake-arty. "Oh, french!"...no. It doesn't all mesh together. ----- Have you checked out Roisin Murphy? She's excellent. She also makes interesting/weird videos that look natural.
  6. Ray Quinn is everything I hate. I appreciate it as it's actually intensive, and the celebrities actually have to commit seriously to it. Making it more credible than CBB and harder work (and more interesting) than Strictly Come Dancing. Not overly interetsed in watching, but my mum'll base all our meals around it now, so I'm sure I'll see it.
  7. Finally got hold of Liz Phair's legendary Girlysound tapes in mp3 form! Yo Yo Buddy Yup Yup Word To Ya Muthuh and Girls! Girls! Girls!
  8. My Chemical Romance were no.1. A fact I love, as I like them. However, the charts are kinda pointless now...it's just full of commercial stuff. I mean, I like a good bit of pop, as it's fun, and mediocre pop is better than mediocre Rn'B/hip-hop, but really, with the internet allowing people to more good music than ever before, I'm not worried with what is and isn't being exposed to the masses.
  9. Tracey Emin is an ugly woman. I love her stuff, I'm doing my Art Personal Study on her, but she's a hideous-looking woman.
  10. They fit in perfectly (except maybe the closest, as it's sightly cut-off, which is distracting), as the green is modulated throughout the entire image.
  11. I think ugly is an overused/badly-used term. Ugly should be used to describe someone who is literally harsh on the eyes.
  12. I liked Kanye West's last album. I couldn't care less about what he does outwith his music tbh, same with most musicians, unless it's intrinsically linked with the music itself. I think a lot of people focus on the antics of the actual person, not the music. Blah blah celebrity culture. But his music is mostly decent.
  13. Final few episodes of Twin Peaks Season 1 I actually shouted "Fanny cunt!" 5 times in the last 2. A bit too many double-crossings and surprises. Audrey is so awesome, as a spy. Literally finding it easy, but harder when she finally knew how.
  14. Lovely is a nice word. As a word, it is nice. Rather as a prefix or whatever (I've already posted this) reminds me of a nasally indie-kid with a massive nose and an annoying voice. Also, it's like a self-defence against just saing "it was enjoyable". It's some form of justification for your liking it. As if it was only ok, when really you genuinely liked it. I dunno. I might be reading too far into it...but it comes across as that. An annoying tendency to try and portray feelings as "cool", or whatever. (None of this is against Haggis, btw, just the word)
  15. I really like the idea you thought of there, really good colour transition etc. I like the dots too, the lizard jsut needs less of a static pose (If it were me).
  16. I have to agree with you, I thought it was something else as I scrolled down! --- Ashley, surely the bins work in the second photo? They provide a path for the eye to travel down...
  17. I hated Maths. I liked the satisfaction of completing a question though, when it all slotted into place. It was pointless in the grand scheme of my life though. --- Anyone want to share their informed opinions of the life and works of Tracey Emin? I need some critical comments (they can be from anywhere)
  18. I'm not very good with Pit, and he's only been a minor nuisance to me so far. Snake and Meta Knight are awesome, but not unbeatable. Possibly against skilled players they're better.
  19. That sounds incredibly hard. Possibly not on 50cc though. I'll give it another go eventually.
  20. I'm literally annoyed/angry. My mum never gave me the letter from Pannini stating that I needed to renew my Spider-Man subscription. Explaining why I haven't got an issue in 2 months...or however long. I'm annoyed as it's an 11-year suscription gone, but to be honest, I'm probably more interested in subscribing to Essential X-Men and Batman legends now. I love Spidey, but his stories aren't as interesting.
  21. Apaprently, if you see the film in IMAX cinemas, at that point of the finale, the actual cinema screen erupts in flames for added effect.
  22. Yep, there's stars. IIRC. I'm pretty sure I've got one or two in the past, and that's how to unlock Baby Daisy, getting stars in all races in 50cc grand prix.
  23. Ok. That's what I thought, but conflicting reports clouded my journey through the astral plane.
  24. I spent a night with my sister just doing every stage once in Time Trial. That gets you Birdo (after 16) and Toadette (after 32). One thing I'm not sure of...Ranks at the end of a race. I needed a star rank in each 50cc Grand Prix, but mine flucuated. Is rank based on you performance overall or what? (I came first in all these grand prix bear in mind) And yeah, the ghost is King Boo. Sadly his partner from Double Dash!, Petey Pirahna (my fave) isn't in this game. (ASAIK)
  25. Oh yeah, one thing I always forget...how do you guys meet up? I assume I'm right in saying she lives in Belgium and you in *ambiguous random place in England*. Or do you live there too?
