  1. Homogenic...prepare to be blown away. By far my favourite Bjork album. Pretty dark.
  2. Yeah, my flight to Berlin was £20 total, and if I hadn't taken big luggage, it would have been a tenner. And Berlin is unbelievably beautiful.
  3. But..Superman Returns isn't even bad! As a film, it's well directed, decently acted, visually impressive etc etc. It all works. But it can be boring to a lot of people, or seem strangley...quiet and pointlessly drawn out, not what they want or like. That doesn't make it bad. I'm not saying it's amazing.
  4. I don't care what Oxigen thinks about Superman Returns. Just because you like a film does not make it good, and vice-versa. That applies completely here. You don't like it. Fair enough. But that doesn't make it bad.
  5. That's so fucking good. --- Listened to a bit of Led Bib today. It was interesting, but not enough for me to actually go back and listen to it again.
  6. Felt funny. Thanks Dazz.
  7. I would happily watch it again. I was thinking about doing so last night after discussing it, but I watched it quite recently, and new movies to watch. And I was meaning, I'd rather have another Superman movie that wa along the lines of SR than one that was a very typical action film, with him smashing robots (the transformers reference). I'm more annoyed by your insistance that the film is shit, when at worst, it's mediocre. I've seen shit films, and this one is not it. It might not honour the source material how many people wanted it to, or might be boring to a lot of people, but so is 2001: A Space Odyssey (not comparing the two films quality-wise here!). The term "shit" in reference to films needs to be reserved for films that deserve it, like I Know Who Killed Me (I'm never going to get over that).
  8. Brokeback Mountain It was pretty good. Sad (obviously), and with a seemingly endless cast list full of really random people I love. Hi Anna Faris, what on earth are you doing? And Linda Cardellini from E.R, too, my fave. Michelle Williams was actually really good too, considering she had very little to do in the second half of the film. The film didn't fall into traps I expected, and shocked me a few times. That reminds me, why did I never know Anne Hathaway was in this, and good as well!? The scene where she speaks to Ledger was really good. Yeah, all the acting was really moving. In some way or another. Although it's a film that I would really want to have seen without knowing ANYTHING about. Cause it would have more impact. But everyone in the world knows what it's about. 8/10
  9. Something (a movie trailer?) used Destroy Everything You Touch recently, and I wanted to cry out in joy, but I was with people who wouldn't have got it/known who they were. -- As If By Magic by la Roux is currently my anthem. Fuck, it's just so joyous. -- Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks has been astounding me of late. I actually knew the Lindsay Lohan (...) version first, and really liked it, considering she's hardly a font of musical talent. I knew it was a cover, but never bothered to check out the original. The beat is sampled/used for Bootylicious by Destiny's Child; really innapropriate, considering the song is about her uncle dying of cancer.
  10. I never even knew different themes existed until this moment. Hello Pikachu theme.
  11. Oh god, the Spring Mario was really annoying to control.
  12. I hate the idea of 3-D added to Beauty and the Beast. Chair'll want to see that again, it's one of his favourite films.
  13. Hyper-ballad is one of her best..things..ever. It's just amazing. I memorably fell in love with Bjork when Cover Me (plaid Mix) came on iTunes shuffle 3-4 years ago. Just dumped a whole load of my Dad's music onto my new ipod, and I was stunned. Such a random song to love too.
  14. It might have slipped my mind, but was it ever explicitly mentioned that Lois and him had never had sex?
  15. The actual song or that video Chair posted? That video is just a weird collaboration between Skunk Anansie and Bjork. Here's the actual song; / All the official videos have been audio-removed off Youtube. Here's a pretty good live video;
  16. 1. I lump that in with other parts of the mis-step. But it didn't ACTUALLY take that much away, all things considering. It wasn't like there were any cheesy scenes about the fact, or a team-up or whatever. They handled the topic well. Not my favourite idea ever, but I hate Superman mostly anyway. 2. Please. 3. Not really...the plot was like most superhero films, only a bit different (appreciated!). 4. The villains were entertaining. They were meant to be the same villains from the first films, so that camp supervillain thing was intentional. In a way, I find the villains in SR much more engaging and idea that just a Superman reboot that is him effectivley in a Transformers film, fighting a millions of massive robots or something, just because it looks "cool". 5. Yes he did. He actually did everything Superman does. Except fight uber-cool Supervillains, of which Superman doesn't actually have many of, since he's a shit character. And it would be silly in the context of that film, which was a bit more gentle than say, an action-based Superman film.
  17. I love how my opinion is the complete inverse. EDIT: Except the plane scene. One of the few times I've been genuinely excited in the cinema. Really needs to be seen on a big screen. It was in no means a mess of a film. It was nicely paced and directed fine. Brandon Routh I thought was uninspiring, to say the least. You're reaching a bit. It all made sense except the improbabilty that he would be able to lift an island made of the rock he dies if he touches. That could have done with a bit more drama/Dargonball-ness to make it seem uber-amazing, rather than just "..." Everyone gave good/decent performances, parker Posey, Kevin Spacey et al. It was directed well. Less predictable than the usual superhero film. Admettedly, it shouldn't have been connected to the old films in any way. That was a mis-step. I know where you're coming from, as something is wrong when the most compelling part of the film is whether Lois will tell her husband she's started smoking or not. But you're overreacting.
  18. I waited this long to be shot in the face?! [/stacey in heaven]
  19. I used to think you were so ccol. --- I love that this song has been analysed as poetry at university level by some people. Dunno if it would be that good, but I love it. I think it's amazing actually. I've changed line structure/length for emphasis so ignore the above. :p --- Daniel Cowman - Regina Spektor On the day that Daniel Cowman stopped existing the world should have ended right then and there. At precisely four-fifteen when he stopped existing the world should have ended. How could it go on? How could it go on? How could it go on? Oh and I don't exist I don't exist, I don't exist, I don't exist. So now that we've got that straight Doesn't mean that I can fly Doesn't mean I that I can go do whatever I want. Now that we've got that clear And you know that I'm not here Doesn't mean that I can go do whatever I please. The premature ejaculation of his death sentence hit Daniel in the face like a big round spitball *hwk-pfffff!*. And everything got hazy in the courtroom and then he stood up and then he sat back down another two times in the row. And everything got real slow like a gunshot in the movies and he remembered Heroin boy... Walking in through the door Bouncing off the walls and the floor Taking off his belt taking off his pants Filling up the bathtub Getting ready to go in for a swim. Singing I don't exist I don't exist, I don't exist, I don't exist. And now that we've got that straight, Doesn't mean that I can fly Doesn't mean that I can go do whatever I want. Now that we've got that clear And you know that I'm not here Doesn't mean that I can go do whatever I please. And you start remembering and remembering and remembering- And remembering... The heroin boy, he walked through the door, and he was screaming and I was like 'Why's you screaming like it's the end of the world?' And he was like 'Well it is.' And I was sitting in the corner with my pants down And I was sure that someone next door was blowing up balloons And it was red and orange. (And there was that swell lady at the bar just tryin to buy gin and there was this other lady at the bar and she was tryin to sell gin... It worked out good for the boths of them.) And heroin boy started taking off his belt, Started taking off his pants, Started taking off his shoes Started filling up the bathtub Getting ready to go in for a swim I says "No-o, You're goin to drown!" He says 'No, I can't drown. Simply because... (Shhhhhhh.!) A man destined to hang Can never drown, A man destined to hang Can never drown, A man destined to hang Can never ever drown. A man destined to drown Can never burn, A man destined to drown Can never burn, A man destined to drown Can never ever burn. A man destined to fry Can never ever ever A man destined to fry Can never ever ever A man destined to fry Can never ever ever die... In any other way but frying. Lucky that I'm dying By hanging and not drowning. So now that we've got that straight Can't I just be left alone? I want to take a fuckin' bath!
  20. It wasn't shit though. You just found it boring, which it was in parts, since he had no real threat, and the kryptonite island was...bizarre and made little sense. But it was far from shit. I could take you, anyway.
  21. Not bothering to go out to a "friend"'s birthday going-out-on-the-town-thing. Fact is, I can only get into the first bar, so it would be a really pointless trip to and from. That and no one I truly love is going (2/3 of my besties weren't invited, and the other great ones aren't going). I wished him happy birthday already.
  22. Although, It's quite dissapointing compared to their first 2 albums. It's basically a rock version of what they did on beautifulgarbage. But Garbage will always have a place in my musical timeline, being the first rock band I truly loved. (and semi-grew out of) Best in the old days;
  23. Yeah, but they're making a massive deal out this whole motion comic thing, as though something good was going to come out of it. When in fact, it just lessens the quality of Cassady's artwork, leaves nothing to the imagination atmosphere wise, and just panders to the lazy. (this is in direct reference to comics that are being 'rereleased' as motion comics, not possible original motion comics)
