  1. Oh. I thought they were literally just sketches. I dislike the style too, in that case. lol. Is it meant to be humourous?
  2. He just said that's not the art...
  3. I like space in fiction. But only when it's "normal people" in space. Like Alien. And Battlestar Galactica. Obligatory mentions tbf
  4. I'm planning on it. Main reason I haven't is cause it's one I predict I might like and want to own in book form. I'm waiting for my birthday/Xmas to get a load of graphic novels I might otherwise dilly-dally with buying myself.
  5. IRREGARDLESS! Having a million threads saying "So, anyone else read Uncanny X-Men 526? I loved the bit when Hope activated the new mutants powers in mid-air!" with maybe 1 or 2 replies from the same people everytime is ridiculous. That's what would happen without the comic book discussion thread, so it's either keeping it open, or just not letting us talk about what we want to talk about, in effect. Cause if we did have loads of threads about every comic we (all 5 of us) talked about, the cries of "cluttering page 1" would be louder than ever. Just do what Ashley (I think) suggested RE: User Image Gallery - create themed threads, or something like that. Childhood pictures, graduation photos, photos of you being attacked by dogs, whatever. While I don't think the UIG needs to be closed, we may as well play along for now, as part of the experiment. It won't definitely be forever.
  6. ... ------ I enjoyed Grim Hunt (just finished), though I'm torn about the conclusion.
  7. I enjoy how it's a Superman villain most people won't even have heard of. Even Brainiac would've been more in the public conciousness! I love the colours.

    M.I.A

M.I.A has a lot more artistic credibility than Lady GaGa..and..Paris Hilton.
  9. loldollywood. Would "Bizarro" be referring to the actual character Bizarro? I know they have random things like the Riddler Rollercoaster or whatever.
  10. Sub-Forums are a bad idea. For reasons stated above. You don't have to click onto my thread about M.I.A, but I'd rather it were there for everyone to see, so people could give stuff a listen. I'd rather people listened to it and hated it than just ignored it. (Same applies for any thread anyone makes.) Fair enough game threads should be by themselves, but that's a "type" of thread that would clog up the main page.

    M.I.A

M.I.A Comin' Back With Power Power Since her new album has been released, I've got back into M.I.A, and was wondering what everyone here thinks of her. I know a lot of people only know Paper Planes, but I think her albums so far have all been pretty good (the newest one less so, but still a cool auditory experience, if having less to say content-wise). I just love the mix of styles she puts together. My current favourites from her 3 albums: $10 from Arular Bird Flu from Kala XXXO from /\/\/\Y/\
  12. ^ Genuine Lol. Uncanny was mildly interesting this week. I liked the back-up story/Prelude to Children's Crusade better though. The art was better too. Legacy reminds me of Old-School X-Men adventures. Though the art there too is very drab.
  13. Animal Kingdom is so nice though. The Safari is great, and I enjoyed a lot as a place even before Expedition Everest appeared. But I think I'm one of those insane people that just love being there (Disney, Universal etc) so much and always will.
  14. Watched Primer. At first I was like "I hate this because I don't understand or like Physics or maths". But then I got to the main point. I got lost at the very end.
  15. His villains love it though.
  16. I don't agree that you can "do" those 3 Disney parks in one day, unless you actually run to every rollercoaster then leave. Which seems silly. It's nice just exploring the little randoms attractions too. Maybe I'm just used to going en masse with ma famille, and having to like meet people all over the place/have stops/have meals. But it's nicer taking time. Also where's Animal Kingdom in all this Retro? So essential!
  17. I don't understand why though. DC is 10x more garish colour-wise, and a lot more "camp" (lol). In general. Marvel is far more toned down.
  18. Anyone else reading Wonder Woman since the relaunch/new version? It starts during 600. 601 was decent, nothing special, but I'll wait to see how it all pans out.
  19. I need to see them with open eyes. I've seen Spirited Away about 3 times, but years ago, and Princess Mononoke in art at school about 4 years ago or something. I liked them enough. I'm iffy with anime in general though, the atmosphere has to be just right for me to like it. Oh fuck, I've seen The Cat Returns. That was shit. I liked it up until the main story started with the shit characters and cats. IIRC. The last good anime thing I watched was The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. That's not Ghibli though is it?
  20. Is that from Widening Gyre? It might do with some context. I tried to read Cacophany, but decided the art and story was shit stopped. I like the title of this current story though, "The Widening Gyre". It's a stunning phrase to hear.
  21. Her character did nothing and had nothing to say. I thought it was a wasted casting choice. Ariadne was just there, neither adding nor taking away from the story.
  22. I was confused by the "ReZ" tips bits in Retro's post... Anyway. Hulk's not confined like Rock N'Roller coaster or anything, but Kraken was my very first big Roller Coaster, and it feels like all others I've been on have so far dissapointed. :p Seconded on the Jurassic Flyers! I remember I was too scared to do them when I was like 7, but then last time I remembered I'd never done them, only to be refused! They also used to have an awesome "Live Triceratops" in JP, where a "trainer" let you stroke it and stuff. It was an animatronic, but funny/entertaining thing since it reacted to things you did. That's gone now I think.
  23. THIS WAS SO GOOD I knew it would be good, but it was so moving, funny and just alround entertaining. Loved it. I was like...closer to tears..than not...if that makes sense. Really sad at points. And hilarious throughout. I liked how the "team" was cut down, getting rid of the chaff like Weezy and Bo Peep, who added nothing. STUNNING.
  24. Wait, ReZ, I thought you hadn't been to Florida? I thought Hulk was overrated. It was too small and wasn't particularly epic. It's just all in that one corner beside the Storm ride. Kraken at SeaWorld was the best coaster IMO. Actually epic and huge, towering in the sky. Dueling Dragons was dissapointing too. I heard Manta was great, but it wasn't there last time I went.
  25. Yeah, clearly she's not Wasp. I think they would have announced Wasp's inclusion in any case. I'm just suprised cause so far the Avengers doesn't have a Whedon-esque heroine at all. No Buffy or Kitty Pryde's here.
