This thread exists for your existential crisis... or does it?

I don't care about pain. How anyone can not be horrified by the concept, and genuine thought of, the end of your own existence baffles me. -

I'd rather live forever/ not really, just become a cartoon ghost, haunting things and still being aware. Or just go to the cliche heaven. -
Listening to Only Revolutions now, it's entertaining. I kinda hate affected american male accents, and the lead singer's becomes that slightly due to a scottish lilt, though only annoyingly on a few tracks. I like how loud and melodramatic it all is. The soundtrack to an airship falling slowly from the sky, in flames.

The initially playable characters, with the rest unlocked later/in the DS sequel.

Err...no. The opposite, death. If you believe in heaven/hell, I suppose it wouldn't make sense, but I can't believe lies, even though I'd prefer to. Death is incomprehensible, and that thought really affects me. When you're younger, like Dwarf says, I imagined a camera, or actually, when someone is like "When you die..", you just imagine, visually, life without you (family and friends and stuff), from a distance, like in a film. But that's not true. It's not like when in the end, you wake up, and are semi-aware of an indeterminate period between when you lay down and when you woke up...how can anyone else deal with the idea of one's own death? It's unthinkable. And I know chair's (very logical) answer is always "You won't be aware/care, so why worry?", but that's not really a help. That to me, suggests sleep/peace, or at least being concious on some level to not care. Argeheehgreheheiu -
I love the feel since the overhaul, as though we've just been relaunched from Issue 1 under a new creative team, with loads of hype before the first issue goes on sale. I'm enjoying it. I feel like we all need our own personalised "I Am An Avenger" posters to concisely redefine our purpose in being here.

Here it is! The nominees for the only music prize in the UK worth paying any attention to; Biffy Clyro - Only Revolutions I Am Kloot - Sky At Night Dizzee Rascal - Tongue N' Cheek Paul Weller - Wake Up The Nation Corrine Bailey Rae - The Sea The Xx - XX Vilagers - Becoming A Jackal Kit Downes Trio - Golden Foals - Total Life Forever Laura Marling - I Speak Because I Can Wild Beasts - Two Dancers Mumford & Sons - Sign No More SO glad Laura Marling got her second nominations in as many albums. It's 10x better than her outstanding debut, and obviously my choice to win, but some great others in there like the Xx and Foals. Mumford and Sons rub me the wrong way, despite being Laura Marling's famous best friends/partners in indian-influenced music crime. Wild Beasts I liked, and Dizzee Rascal is nothing to me. I never really got Biffy Clyro. They're fine, but it always sounded like less than you expected, considering if you dare say a negative thing about them in polite company, you're stoned. I plan to give all the albums a listen.

Most of my thinking is about this. It's not fun. I can't face the concept of non-existence. It terrifies me/makes me incredibly sad. My one big (genuine) fear. I can't bear it. -
I've never read any 2000AD. Somedays I think I should. But it's been going for so long I assume it'd be an interminable read. I like the concept/fact it exists, however. I saw the 90's films years ago. Least said, soonest mended.

Oh yeah! I loved her and Hawkeye being so main in that, of all people. * * I know they were in Force Works so it makes sense, but I didn't know that at the time.

I'm gyrating in anticipation. She was always one of my favourites-for-no-reason. I've only EVER read her in Ms. Marvel and this arc. And yet I still prefer her to Jessica Drew. (Though I've barely read anything with her doing anything in it either so not really fair) Appreciate! Single Mother Superheroics! Invented the 'Venom' costume! An interesting take on the spider-powers!

I like Robyn. Took me ages to appreciate her last/famous album, but now I do. She's good. I need to borrow Body Talk from Chair.

Oh, I thought you meant in both games, and I don't have my big documents of truth with me atm (I'm away, that's why no more Wars have been posted) , so I believed you. Yes, multiple songs by the same person can be in a single Music War. Tori Amos did last time. And she won, so yeah...maybe revise that rule? lol

Haven't bought a booster since Arkham Asylum, but play the game all the time. Brave and the Bold was £9 a booster. No thanks.

Well that's you and I'm sorry.

HMV only sell the really "hip" stuff. KIlling Joke, Watchmen, and recently, to their credit, Grant Morrison's New X-Men. Amazon's your best bet, almost always cheaper than in store.

Finished all of Seven Soldiers by Grant Morrison last night. Anyone else read it? It was certainly interesting in concept, and no one does mind-bending stuff that hits home emotionally/mentally (that doesn't even make sense, but I know what I mean) like him. I liked how it was 7 seperate stories that all interlinked, either just by visual elements appearing in multiple stories or the themes (that make it one big epic). It seemed the main point was to redefine each character and kinda set them on their way for the future. Some of these felt a bit "...". I didn't see the point of redoing Mister Miracle/ The New Gods, as it felt like "Ultimate New Gods" until near the end, especially with the Ultimate F4 artist doing it. But it was a good story in the end. Just unsure if this was meant to erase prior history or what? My favourite stories were Klarion, Zattanna, Shining Knight and the 2 book-ending issues to the entire series. I can understand why people weren't happy with the concept when it came out, 30 issues you HAVE to buy to understand it all seems very steep, especially when it feels like nothing important is happening at the time, like when they introduce the last 3 soldiers, it feels like it slows down. I'm still unsure what Bulleteers point was. Why she was one of the Soldiers. Apart from a cyptic note from Morrison in the script at the back pointing out the visual repetition between a panel of her, and one of Aurakles, the first superhuman. Which I suppose does raise questions of man's beastial nature, violence, sex, etc...which all make sense with her story. But I don't really get her point. I'll re-read it/investigate. *shrug* But I love Morrison and it was very enjoyable with great art from all involved.

Such a reference. *looks at Chair and ReZ' date=' mouthing "Rule3"*[/i'] I started this, but got stuck on the first one.

I drink loads of Diet Coke, but trying to cut down. Only fizzy drink I actively like, perhaps because it doesn't have the horribly sweet and sugary taste of most fizzy drinks. Normal coke is ming.

I got N without that clue. The one that leapt out as obvious for me, along with U and X.

Yeah, it's not really just Thor, other people interact with Asgard like X-Men/New Mutants every so often, and as Chair said, various other villains and heroes have Asgardian origins. We all love Valkyrie.

Concept-wise, it's like a really clumsy, knock-off version of Wonder Woman.

TV gives you something to focus on completely. With music you usually want to do something else as well. Unless you're lying down/meditating/dancing. I like nothing more than reading comics and listening to music to relax. Ideally not (reading) on the computer as after a while it hurts your eyes. That's why I've bought so many graphic novels recently.
