2009 I think. Probably a March 09?
-
So whats the best DLC then? I have 500 points left over after buying; My Iron Lung El Scorcho Buddy Holly The Kill Attack Those are the songs from the DLC that I have on my pc as an mp3, the others I've never listened to or don't like. But since I have some points left over I was wondering which are the best ones to get for the fun of playing them? Bearing in mind I play Guitar on Hard and Drums (so far, hopefully will improve) on Medium.

Ah damn. They used to have £5 ones most of the time but its been a while. They used to do £5 vouchers for GAME in magazines, in fact I distinctly remember one time buying a £3.50 magazine, walking to the back of the queue, ripping out the voucher and then using it straight away. £1.50 off and a free magazine!

Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip (Balance Board Compatible)
Gizmo replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Lol, didn't think I'd ever see "traditional" and "motion controls" for at least a few years. Anyway, this has potential but could easily be rubbish too. A wait and see effort I think. -
Me too! Now I have the drums sitting in front of my TV, taunting me. Also, I thought the Rock Band guitar was wireless? Apparently not
-
How much off does that give?
-
Haha, I have this problem too! I'm going to have to rearrange some furniture to have space in front of the TV for the drumkit without being less than 1m from it
-
Perhaps thats why he used the word "cover".

Think that was mainly the launch ones. The EU ones and any new ones have a sturdier pedal, make less noise and have more of a bounce to them.

Hang on: Wii is owning all, where are the games?
Gizmo replied to ultrajamie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Assassins Creed is like the worst example you can use. Sure, it wasn't great AI, but the level of detail on the buildings (which is NEEDED to allow climbing), the population crowding every corner of the cities, etc. If you really think AC is possible on the Wii you don't understand what goes into it and it kind of voids the rest of your argument. -
Does seem very silly to make it impossible to buy them, especially if they are still going to be on the server. The only reason I can see for it is to make the list of games shorter, so people aren't hit by hundreds of demo's to try. Then again, couldn't they just remove the unsuccessful games from the main list, make a new category for them and reduce the price a bit?

Hang on: Wii is owning all, where are the games?

I know. I'm pointing out the effect a bad port can have, when the PS3 can struggle with what the Xbox managed, and hence how IW would actually have to put a decent amount of time and resources to porting CoD4, despite what people seem to think. -

Take a look at the PC system specs for Half Life 2 and then look at the system specs for Assassins Creed. Take a look at the specs of the Wii then take a look at the specs of the Xbox 360. The Wii is not as powerful, it never will be. It cannot handle the things the Xbox can. It's alot harder to "downgrade" a game while keeping the game the same than you seem to perceive it. Look at how badly RE4 suffered when it was ported to the PS2 from the GC. The differences between those two are alot smaller than between Wii and PS3/360. You really think Assassins Creed could achieve that level of detail, draw distance, scale on Wii? You clearly know nothing about the technical aspects of game development. Can't remember what you posted before and I'm too lazy to check back so I'll leave out this part of your post. So it's that easy to outsource a job to a developer who will do a competent job? To find a dev with the time and resources to port a PS3/360 game to Wii without having to be watched over through the whole process isn't going ot be easy nor cheap. Also, Valve outsourced porting Orange Box to EA, not the other way around. Even then, EA did a pretty poor job of it. If that's how the PS3 manages a game that the original Xbox could handle when the port is bad (despite being done by the biggest company in the games industry), do you really think IW would be able to get someone to do CoD4 effectively, efficiently and still have it be profitable/worth their time? I have no idea what you're saying here. CoD5 is being developed by a different team than CoD4. Other than the brand name it shares nothing. Just check out the bug ridden shitfest that is CoD3 for an example on the comparing quality. Also, the Wii version is being developed alongside the PS2 version, it is not a port of the 360/PS3/PC version. k. Frankly I'm bored of saying the same things over and over again to people who can't take the time to type properly. Not just you. There seems to be a direct correlation between poor typing and lack of intelligence. That said, I make alot of typo's. [anecdotal evidence]Most people I know are in that boat.[/anecdotal evidence] I doubt the actual figure is 90% though I suspect it was said more as a bit of hyperbole than as an accurate figure. -
I wasn't speaking about the Mars probe, more generally about the possibilities of what is out there in the entire expanse of space. Out of our reach for now, of course. I appreciate that, but what I meant was they can't rule out there being life there if there is no water. It's even more unrealistic to think life will be similar. Again I was speaking more generally, not specifically the Mars probe :p

Thats how life on this planet evolved, with our atmosphere of Nitrogen and Oxygen, the ground of whatever the hell makes up the ground, etc. But whats to say there isn't another planet out there with an atomosphere of two different gases, perhaps even gases that aren't found on Earth, with a ground made up of elements that don't exist on earth, where they use a different material to sustain life? Who's to say "life" on one planet is the same concept as that of Earth? Scientists label other planets with Earth's logics and restrictions without knowing for certain they are even relevant.

I think there was a US guy who bought an EU PS3/GHIII and who couldn't get the US DLC to be compatible. If you can buy it from the same region as the game you should be fine (though you'll need a US credit card afaik). Just don't get EU DLC with a US disc.

rofl, wow I love threads like these. I mean the fact that we are talking about the same thing for the 10th time this month isn't important. Neither is it important that most people in these threads are split into one of three categories; the morons with blinkers on, the people vainly trying to remove the blinkers, and the people who sit back and laugh at the people with the blinkers. Keep going NEurope. As great as ever. -

I still don't understand why people are insistant that there was to be water for there to be life. Life on Earth needs water, who's to say life on mars does?

Yet your signature is "Wii hardcore gaming defense force" lol. -
I got the word influence right in a spelling test because I knew how to spell it from Black & White. Ditto for Conquer from C&C. Does that count?

360 only for now. Theres two theories on it; MS bought timed exclusivity rights to it in Europe. They were trying to avoid the shortages that they had in America.

It's good to see that Hamilton hasn't let the fame and money get to his head though. I mean it's not like he's went and got himself some thick as shit model girlfriend. Oh, wait...

I don't think any one is actually buying it for £180 though. I'm paying £127 for it, my friend got it for £100 (although he only got the drums + game), theres the HMV deal for the full set + points for £150... For an RRP, it is ridiculous, but the people buying it are definately getting it for less than that :p Btw, another thought that crossed my mind; anyone tried Boom Boom Rocket with the drums? I'm thinking it will basically be Rock Band minus the pedal. Also the beat will probably be a bit different since your effectively playing a different part of a song. Still, could be awesome. Pretty sure I suggested this for the Guitar aswell when GH2 came out >_>
