Apologies if this has been answered already, a quick search didn't find me an answer: if I download the work-around now, is there any chance of progress being lost when the official release is out? Like, it released in NZ before US right - did US players get to just carry on when it came out proper for them?

This is all well and good and all, but seriously Nintendo: it's a game based on sharing creations. Why isn't it seamless?

Am I being a bit dim, or is the level finding options way limited? No way to find friends levels, no search function? lolwut Nintendo?

Holy crap, how haven't I heard of this game before? It is literally F-Zero in all but name. It's funny that this thread is over two years old and I've never wandered in... Nintendo really should have just given them the F-Zero license here since that is blatantly what they have made minus the Falcon.

It's a recurring long term thing from doing a high impact sport for 10 years. Though maybe it is worth going in to a proper running shop and getting insoles or whatever - couldn't hurt at least. Yeah, but I'm hoping that maybe it will be at just the right level to work it without over doing it, and so help rehab it. But then, I thought that about swimming as well. Went back to the GP fairly recently actually and they gave me painkillers and put me on a physio waiting list again. They don't seem to have much else to suggest.

So I've had a really awkward back injury for over a year now that has stopped me doing my gymnastics/trampolining that I used to do 10+ hours a week. I have thus lost all semblance of fitness and really need to find a way back into it. I've tried the staples of swimming (hurts my back almost immediately), cycling (also uncomfortable on the back) and running (boring, plus I quickly get shin splints recurring from my trampolining days) and I'm not able to do them or stick to any regime. I also know from the last 5 years of experience that I am terrible at committing to a regular gym plan. What I really need is to find some kind of sport or game that I can enjoy playing sufficiently to do it regularly, but which also will be easy-ish on my upper back. I thought about maybe tennis or badminton but I need a partner for those which I haven't yet found. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Can we pleeeease just get the GC controller back? Fix the C-Stick and add a second ZL button and you're golden. It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used by far.

I understand them making balance patches, but it really bothers me that they don't release patch notes to detail what exactly they've done - never mind explaining their reasoning.

Pretty sure they had a non-compete in their contracts which stated they couldn't work for a UK broadcaster for ~2 years or something, so a US streaming service was their loophole... Looking forward to seeing what they can come up with. Obviously they will have to abandon some stuff (no Stig for example...wonder if they'll still do the weekly guest though?) so the format should be shaken up at least a bit.

Oh, I've never really played with anyone from here (normally my other half has a monopoly on the TV in the evening...) but since she's on holiday, I might take the chance to jump in later. Not sure if I've got you guys on the Wii but I will add if I don't I'm pretty sure I'm rubbish, but whatever :awesome: -
Looks like he pushed his back chatting too far

Unfortunately I think a lot of this discussion, while being very good and mostly stuff I agree with - is fairly unimportant to Nintendo. What we tend to be discussing here is what Nintendo needs to do to win back the Western market that we are familiar with, since most of us don't know much about the Asian market at all. I suspect that ultimately Nintendo have the opposite viewpoint, and will target their next generation of products primarily at the Japanese market, no matter what they are saying about seeking worldwide appeal. Hardware on a par with the existing competition is probably necessary over here for Nintendo as a brand to have any chance of becoming relevant to the majority of gamers again, in order to get the big multiplatform ports and so on - but this might not be the case in Japan, where (as I understand it) the Nintendo brand is much stronger. I have a feeling that getting on par machinery will drive the console cost up too high, and so while I would like to see it I suspect it won't happen. The other big cultural differene between East/West is how gamers socialise. Here, everything is primarily online, which makes universal party chat, smooth integration and even achievements an important part of the console experience. Do kids go to each others house to sit and play split screen multiplayer anymore? I suspect not. (Which I think is sad personally, but there it is!) Ultimately, the WiiU was a couple of years too late to catch onto the Wii audience. WiiHD halfway through that generation would probably have sold much better, and had the advantage of on par hardware for late generation multiplats. Now, Nintendo find themselves caught between generations. Unless they have something really clever up their sleeves, I think they have missed out on this run and should be thinking ahead to the PS5 / Xbox0 generation and how they are going to establish themselves in that period. If we equate Playstation and Nintendo generations, then we are talking about NX being the "PS5" generation, but being more than a generation behind on hardware. Is that really going to bring them back to relevance?

http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/library/events/150508qa/02.html Here is what Iwata has had to say on the NX. @Serebii @dazzybee Doesn't specify anything about hybrid or not, but also doesn't rule it out, because he has deliberately worded it vaguely enough that either is left open. Which is entirely the point, because they aren't interested in giving anything away yet. Now can we stop the pointless argument?

I still haven't decided if I like Leffen or not. He's a bit of a dick but kinda hilariously sometimes, I dunno. I think it's quite an unpopular opinion but I quite like Hungrybox, he seems a genuine guy and less interested in the drama than some of the others. Plus, Jiggly makes a difference to the spaceys that dominate the top 5. His Smash4 doubles with Zero was crazy: I REALLY hate Mango. He's such a tosser - for example when Hbox came to sit and commentate with him Mango decided to run away and leave the stream silent instead. I don't get why he hates him so much apart from the fact that he's just a wanker.

Big FGC tournament in Florida called CEO. Dunno if you know the big names, but Leffen caused a big upset and took the Melee tournament while Zero (who's practically unbeaten since winning the invitational at E3 last year) won Smash4 despite the Diddy nerfs. Watch the finals of the tournament here: https://www.youtube.com/user/VideoGameBootCamp

Sounds to me like that means there will be Twilight Princess-esque cross platform stuff at first, which just further fuels the fires about Zelda WiiU moving to NX.

Does anybody else follow the competitive scene for this game? There was a big tournament at the weekend, it's good fun to watch. I had it on one screen while I played Wooly World in the other.

Just beat 6-8 (and saw an "H-O-T was here" Miiverse post @Hero\-of\-Time !). Final boss was a bit easy for my liking, and in general the difficulty wasn't particularly high, but then I haven't gone back and 100%'ed many levels yet. I'll go through and get all the flowers so I can see all the S levels, whether or not I can be bothered with the rest remains to be seen. But I enjoyed this for what it is, and would recommend it to people that aren't sure. Not a system seller by any means but another solid game for the line up.

Another issue we seem to have that is increasingly winding me up is where people are having a discussion about something, and then one person ignores the points made by the other and/or stops replying to that particular bit of discussion. The same things then inevitably come up again later in the thread. This gets boring very quickly.
