Almost 22 hours of playtime now. Think I've reached the final mission and...big gameplay spoilers coming up: Anyways. Have I mentioned that the game is gorgeous? Bonus: Praise the sun!
-
Yup. It's why I've been doing some more main quests for two hours now. Want to unlock all of that so I can explore every nook and cranny Mostly Warrior and Survivor. I'm playing pretty aggressively and the increased damage and healing help a lot.
-
That didn't work. Got sucked into the main quest again. The story is ramping up and I wanted to see where it goes. Very intriguing. After a few main quests I was able to unlock a certain side activity: Some weapons and armors are available as rewards, so naturally I tried to get at least one of those. Took me a while, 'cause the challenges are quite tough. But I did get one awesome weapon Haven't tried it in the field, yet, but given its rarity it might be way too strong for where I'm at. Just the way I like it I wish picking up materials was as instant as it is in Ghost of Tsushima. The animations in H:FW can be a little annoying if you decide to gather lots of materials quickly. Have also encountered a few visual glitches, mostly while climbing stuff. But these are the only annoyances so far in 15 hours. It's a very polished game and a joy to play

I KNEW IT, I knew that I heard Nothing But Thieves in that SoP. They always deliver.
-
Yeah, I did. Surprisingly, I've advanced the story a bit further. Usually I just explore and gear up more in games like this one. But the story is really good and just kept me going. I'm now able to venture further into the west and will do exactly that. 10 hours in now and I think it's time to do a lot more exploring. Love the side quests. They are one of the biggest improvements compared to the first game. They have their own story and interesting characters.

After 5 1/2 hours I've reached Forbidden West, i.e. the open world. Have only done one thing: overridden the first Tallneck. And yes, now the true Horizon journey begins Lots of stuff to discover. As always, I will wander around and explore the world on my own, mainly using the compass to get my bearings. And if I want to progress more efficiently, I'll use the map. Took three more screenshots: Now the game has opened up. And that means: I will spend even more time in photo mode. Getting a little tired, though, so might actually take a break for tonight and get back to it tomorrow Can't say it enough: The game looks phenomenal. Facial animations are insane. Overall it feels similar like the step up from Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2. Improvements all around. Obviously it's still early days, but what I've played so far is incredible.

2 1/2 hours in. The game is drop dead gorgeous. I can't believe how stunning it looks. Haven't done much, so far, aside from completing the lengthy tutorial (a little too long for my taste). Now I'm in the open world but not really? I think it's kind of an extension to the tutorial, but I'm not entirely sure. Done an introduction to the board game. Seems interesting. I'll dive deeper soon enough, but for now I'll rather take care of some side quests. So far so good. Very impressed with the technical side of the game. Can't say much about the gameplay. Will give more impressions on that once the world truly opens up.

Guess who's got his copy Gotta take care of some real life stuff, but gonna jump in very soon

Where are you from? We have a storm warning in Germany and it seems quite a tempest is on the way to reach us this afternoon. I might cut work and studying short (as if I wasn't going to do the latter anyways ) and pick up the game earlier than planned. Already got the coffee ready for tonight. I'm so excited

Last night I wanted to give a genre I've never dabbled with a go: Dungeon Crawler RPG. Asked Google to get me some good ones, found out that the Etrian Odyssey series is awesome and also found out that I don't have a device to play these games Then I came across a reddit post which recommended Dungeon Travelers 2 on the PSVita. "Cool", I thought. So I gave it a go. I pressed on the bubble in the Vita main hub and was greeted with...boobs. Lots of boobs. Big ones, too. Played for a few minutes and got a panty-shot shoved in my face and the following line from the girl with the barely clothed ass: "Gimme some of those inches!" (to be fair, the girls were talking about the main character's height, not his ding-dong) So yeah...it's a game with fanservice. Not really for me, even though I like boobs. Stopped playing it right then and there. Didn't even get to try the battle system (By the way: not shaming anybody who's into these kinds of games. To each their own ). Anyways, looking forward to Horizon: Forbidden West tomorrow

I'm so hyped My plan is to pick up the game late in the afternoon tomorrow so I can study during the day, but in reality I'm probably going to the store way sooner Need to buy some (junk) food, a couple of drinks and spend the whole night playing H:FW. Gonna watch a story recap video of the first game tonight so I'm fully prepared. Haven't read any reviews, haven't watched any videos aside from a few trailers. I know surprisingly little about the game. I do know that I'm very much looking forward to the board game ingame.

Nobody asked for a quintuple post but here it is: Here's what I didn't like: the music the gimmicky levels and their ridiculous amount jank the camera was all over the place at times, resulting in a few deaths collectibles that require you to backtrack a lot or collectibles that are missable (not a huge deal, as there's a chapter select) certain abilities trivialize the platforming sections that stupid turtle who sounds like a cliché nerd-kid from US teen movies - I hate him so much Here's what I like: the graphics and art style - timeless and still looking good the actual platforming and stealth (until you get some OP abilities) the villains had a short, but sweet backstory (they mostly got bullied and then turned evil - not very creative but it works) Yeah, some things to like, some things to hate. I'm giving it a solid 6/10. Oh and also: My third one this year
-
And fuck every other level that has some kind of gimmick like twin-stick shooting or rail-shooting (which are both horrible in this game). The actual platforming is great, but man oh man, those gimmicky levels are ASSFUCKERY. They are full of jank and occasionally have annoying RNG that can fuck you over. I'm in the final world, though, so not much left. But this final world is full of assfuckery...I'm not a happy man.

Took a small break from Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus after completing the third world and bought Neophyte for 1.10€. Aptly described as a "mini hack-n-slash roguelike" it is exactly what you expect. You play as a little guy, collect spells and powerups and hack-n-slash/cast your way through waves of enemies. Very simple, but incredibly fun Some gifs from its ich.io page: I finished the game once on the first run (which also included the tutorial) and unlocked a higher difficulty which will throw elite enemies at me. Will definitely give this a go tomorrow.

*ehem* Excuse me, this is an announcement. FUCK THOSE STUPID CAR RACES IN Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. Thank you and good night.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!

While I do enjoy Boarding House Reach I prefer some more fuzz-y tracks so...this is awesome -
Crazy numbers

Launches May 10th

Very true. I did get used to it, though. Just finished the first world and I'm in love. The new moves you get are kind of unnecessary and it's a shame that you apparently have to get the "view all collectibles through the binoculars"-ability in every world separately, but the game plays very well, even with the occasional jank.
-
I have not. It definitely shows its age. Not from a technical standpoint (the art style is awesome, and the performance is great) but the actual platforming is a little clunky. I'm getting used to it, though, so it can only get better One thing I don't like is the vaults. Most of them so far could only be opened after you collected other collectibles and backtracked to those stupid little safes. It's quite annoying Also: Bentley's voice is stupid.
