Gonna move my Slay the Spire talk over here. And there it is: A card game got my heart racing...didn't expect that While I did have an insane combination of relics and power cards (that particular one would be gg ez in anything below Ascension 15, I'd say), the final FINAL boss was the one who gets stronger whenever you use power cards This only happens during its first phase, though, so I had to gauge whether to play lots of powers, make myself stronger and in turn make the boss hit a lot harder, or try to survive as long as possible without the use of powers. In the end it was a mix of both. Slow play at first, then power cards en masse before I killed the boss' first phase. The second phase was easy peasy lemon squeezy mathematics to not take a lot of damage while powering up a final attack.

Today's the day Ascension update blog post Will I give it a go later? Probably not. I've borrowed Kena: Bridge of Spirits and reeeaaally want to start it.

My my, they haven't even released a game and they're already part of the Playstation Studios family? Sony must like what they're doing with their live service game.

To preface: Haven't finished everything, since I can't start the raid until I've reached a certain "power level". However, I did already put the game into my list and marked it as "finished" because I've completed the story twice. Anyways: Awesome multiplayer addition to one of the best open-world games out there. There are a few modes available to tackle: Story is a two player co-op mode which is way too easy at first, but a lot more challenging and in turn fun on higher difficulties. The plot is nothing to write home about. It's more about the co-op experience. Survival is basically "horde mode + defend 3 areas". If you like that, you'll like the mode Rivals is what steals the show. You are put against two other players (not sure if you can play it with more, but I'm only playing with one mate) and it's also pretty much a horde mode. You kill enemies and gain Magitama, the mode's currency. You can spend those to make your opponents' lives hell For example, a Shade will prevent the other team from spending Magitama unless it's defeated. There's also stuff like a shared damage curse, longer revival curse, flaming arrows raining down on you and more. Spend enough and you will start last stand: Defend a small area from 3 waves. You can still buy stuff, but so can your opponents. It gets intense. Finish the last stand and you win the game. Sony just keeps on giving. A marvelous multiplayer mode added to a great single player game. I hope they will do similar things with their future titles. Returnal will get one on Tuesday, so that's a good start Horizon: Forbidden West would be a perfect match for some co-op goodness.

Well, that didn't take too long. I've won an Ascension 19 run. That final boss fight was a war of attrition. Lots of Frost orbs, few damage dealing cards. Pair that with a boss that heals 15 HP every turn and yeah...it took me a while to win One more step to the hardest challenge in Slay the Spire: Winning an Ascension 20 run. Now what does the final difficulty add? You fight a second boss in Act 3 (the fight starts immediately after the first Act 3 boss). I'm ready!

Yeah, it's scummy as fuck. Unbelievably so. *looks at his FIFA 22 copy on the shelf* (I only play Pro Clubs )

Fair. Can't wait to read about the 8 games you've already complete since Elden Ring As I mentioned I've started playing Ghostrunner. It's tough. I kinda don't want to see how difficult later levels will be Also started Slay the Spire again. Can't believe I don't have the Platinum, even though it's my favourite game (yes, I said Elden Ring is also on top spot, but I may have to actually demote it to #2 because that deck-building-rogue-like is too good). What needs to be done for the Platinum? First of all...reaching the highest difficulty (i.e. Ascension 20) and beating it. Almost 120 hours for the PS4 version. 60 wins, 294 deaths. Most of which came from climbing the Ascension ranks with The Defect. I've been stuck on Ascension 18 for hours and took a break from the game for months. Yesterday...first run with The Defect after a long time and bam. Gg, ez win. I didn't even have a necessarily overpowered deck, I just played very well. Now bosses are more difficult... What comes after Ascension 20? Stuff like win the run without picking up relics, or with only 5 cards, or in under 20 minutes...yeah, I'll cross that bridge later Also: Why am I using the PS5 thread for this? Don't know, don't care, shut up.

How quickly this game went from "sure, will buy it soon" to "nope, fuck off". Polyphony Digital dropped the ball hard with their MTX and always online bs. They need a complete turnaround, because right now this is a PR disaster for them. Yup, and it feels like there's no escaping. Everywhere you go and play games there's predatory and greedy practices to be found. While I sometimes wish I was a child again (fuck growing up ), I'm glad that I'm not one right now with regards to video games. As a kid you rarely have the sense to see through all those money traps.

What song(s) are you really into at the moment?!
drahkon replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Phew, they will release their new album in fucking August. We gonna get at least 4 more singles until then Will I be able to hold off on listening to them all before the album drops? I sure as hell won't. Edit: By the way: The song I'm most hyped for is: We are fucking fucked Yes, that's the title -
Anybody playing Ghostrunner? @Hero-of-Time you wanted to give it a go, I think? Have played the first level and it's as awesome as I remember from playing it on my sister's Xbox One. Load times are snappy so you don't feel bad for too long after dying Will jump back in later tonight and progress some more. Gotta get used to the controls a bit, though. Had to customize them because none of the default layouts appealed to me.

Ah yes, the trials and tribulations of the evergaols That particular one you mentioned was annoying, yeah. Took me many tries. -

Just use the mimic. It's apparently still very good, albeit mostly as a tank now instead of both a tank and damage dealer -
You weird people, keep talking about sealed games and stuff while I'm getting mentally prepared to finally give this game another go. A friend will send me his copy before he goes on vacation for 2 months in two weeks and then I'll see if I enjoy it more. I think I'll have to completely ditch my usual Souls game mindset and readjust.

There is, I'm sure of it Especially now with the sales figures coming out. I've actually thought about potential DLC and have come to the conclusion that I just need more areas. For each paid DLC gimme an area the size of Limgrave with more stuff. 15€, easy money. THANK YOU! -

And there it is: Not quite 100 hours, but after 97 hours and 50 minutes I can say: Elden Ring is a masterpiece. If a game manages to constantly give me "holy shit"-moments it deserves that title. In recent months I've played three open world games. First was Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut. It became the best open-world game I've ever played. Then there was Horizon: Forbidden West. It became the best open-world game I've ever played. And now Elden Ring. It is the best open-world game I've ever played. It is also now tied with the best game I've ever played. Yeah...it couldn't remove Slay the Spire from the number one spot as that game is also a masterpiece in its own right. Even right at the end, Elden Ring managed to get an audible "wow" out of me: For now, I've decided hold off on my NG+ journey. I'm not burnt out, I just want to play a different game for a while. -

Wouldn't be a typical build up to a new Muse album without a catchy pop song I like it. Wish the bass was a little louder, though. Also: big Knight Rider Theme vibes -

@Julius Once you've beaten the final boss and decide to farm runes before starting NG+, watch this: About 40k runes in 10 seconds Came across a familiar optional boss during my clean-up and I just had to: -

@Hero-of-Time I'm probably getting closer to the end. Got all trophies so far (aside from upgrading a weapon to its max and the remaining secret ones). Anything else you deem worthwhile? Just tell me stuff you found interesting and I'll see whether I've already done them or not Also: Is the final point of no return obvious? -

Had that Torrent bug happen to me, as well. It was funny at first, but once I realized I've lost 150k runes...BOOOHHHHHH! -

Looks like I've reached the endgame. And by the way: HOLY SHIT Depending on how smooth sailing it'll be, I won't crack the 100 hour mark for my first playthrough. Currently sitting at 93 hours. -

I WON! Still trembling I was so close to resort to summoning my mimic but no, I did it by myself. Had to keep sooooo much distance and carefully take my shots. The battle lasted for at least 5 minutes. Only used 2 health flasks. No need, I evaded all of the "instant death attacks" Now the choice...continue with the critical path or explore some more. If I decide to explore, I may have to resort to a guide/map, because I think I've seen/been to all of the "obvious" locations.
